This restaurant was amazing! I wish I had two stomachs so I could eat more. I ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi, with green beans and some rice. Not a single piece of the dish was in any way mediocre. The flavor from the fish, it didnt even need any tartar sauce. It could be eaten solo with every moist flakey bite of fish. Even the green beans werent some lame canned squishy bland mess. They were actually seasoned well, I cant even tell with what, butter maybe, but not just s&p. The rice! It had tomato onion, peppers, it was perfectly fully cooked, textural just the tiniest kick of spicy.. Nothing dry about this rice. I was so impressed I ordered banana pudding for dessert, which to my delight, is made fresh. The bananas must have been freshly sliced they were so firm. There was even tiny pecans on top. My husband ordered the #10 plate. The fish and shrimp were "cooked perfectly", the chicken strips were cooked a tidge over, not inedible. As far as service, very attentive, checked on us a couple times, and was very helpful. The owner gave us a little bit of culture facts about the area and his restaurant business. I joked he should pay the cook more, and he said, "I am the cook."! Amazing! This place doesnt look like much on the outside (at 3oclock on a Saturday), but if you give it a try, you will be looking forward to the next time you can come! We stayed here about an hour, and the place started filling up as we left our new late lunch place. Very respectful family atmosphere. The owner insisted he be known for being able to feed your family for a reasonable price. And for the joy we received, I would have paid way more for the care, quality, and value of this type of food any where else.

As food blogger and loyal customer i came to this place cause my bad service at the mexican chinese place on somerset. Same thing happen here i order my food paid and wAs told it will be 10-12 and i was ok coo i had that much time to get my food and get back to my job ( i work at a clnic so pts are waiting for us to get back ) and the same thing happen like the last resturant everyone got there food and mine still did not come out after 25 mins and im like wow wtf is going on i know its good friday but My small order should count next to the large order or even when people come in pairs this place is not a place if your solo cause they get the larger orders out first and then get the indivual ones. Next and then the lady charge me another 14 dollars when i ask for my refund and i called my bank and its still pending we see how this will go anyways these places on the southside if your not hispanic or in a large group they treat u as minor and i already advice yelp and other sites im fond of writing for that if you want fish or any thing authentic in this great city the west side and the north central area are the. Best hopefully my review will help other food reviewers to comment and give there opinions out as a fellow food blogger i dont judge more how good the food is first but how the staff treats you and thats how your food should taste ✌

Fish is always hot, good portions ,and inexpensive. Great place to order for your meetings at work or office parties. This is a family business that has been in our neighborhood for a long time. The only thing i would want changed is for it to be bigger, but in the same location . Besides that its fried fish heaven.

Food is great and service is conveniently speedy for those on lunch hour but the staff couldve been a bit more professional. The guy at the register was kind of rude and the prices are a bit over the top. If theyd fix those two things Id give them a five.

The fish here is very good but I love the rice. I definitely give this place a 10. Its a little small but very respectful and polite staff. I definitely recommend this place for if you like seafood.

They were out of veggies and didnt tell us till after we were getting our food. Ordered oysters to go and they charged me for 8 when I only got 4. What ever happened to honesty for crying out loud!

Always fresh. My favorite is the grilled tilapia plate. They know how to season the fish to perfection. My husband always gets the #6 fried fish plate. Best secret on the southside!

Says open at 11am , I show up at 12pm . Gentleman says," since the owners are not here we cant serve you and were closed." But yet the doors are open and sign says open .

1st time here. I ordered a 2 piece fish, soda, and dozen jalapeno hush puppies. Their Cajun rice and hush puppies were impressively good.
