My husband loves Popeyes and I just can not stand it. It so so greasy, expensive, the service is bad. It just sucks. I am not a huge chicken person either- it takes some bomb chicken to make me like it at all. This Chicken Express was unbelievable! The rolls were warm and sweet and just remarkable! The chicken was to die for. The gravy, even better!! I could eat the gravy plain but dunking the chicken in this delectable stuff is better than anything. And the tea! SO delicious!! I am a "tea connoisseur" so I know good tea when I taste it! Before I left I filled it up so I could take it home with me and enjoy the rest of the night. Not only was the food delicious, the service was uncanny. The manager was the one who took our order, and since it was our first time, we were a little slow to order and he helped us out. He was the nicest guy and helped me figure out what to order. He was awesome. I wish I would have caught his name. Also, when we arrived, two men were sweeping/cleaning up the restaurant and it was spotless. I felt like I had to wipe up my table before we left because it was so immaculate in there that I did not want to be responsible for messing it up! Based on the food, the tea, the service, and the cleanliness of the store, there is not much more you could ask for from a fast food restaurant, so I am giving this Chicken Express 5 stars!!! It is very much deserved.

I have liked this place for a long time. Tonight, the location on 79, by old settlers, has in one moment, drove me out. At the drive through, I was told it would be 10 minutes, please pull up. I did and waited 30 minutes before I got out and went in. It was at that moment they saw me and with a surprised look, began to fill my order. All the while a young black man walked to the counter and began to make comments to me about waiting. His attitude was terrible and too smarty. All the time an older man stood by looking and doing nothing. Worst service ever. I refuse to reward poor performance and poor customer service. There are many places to choose from and they have lost me and my entire family for life. Take my advise and try one of the many chicken places in the area.

I was told they have great fish so I decided to try this location tonight. It was the worst fish Ive ever had. Maybe this is the way they normally fix it but I couldnt cut it with a knife. I had to pick it up and try to bite off a piece. It was very chewy. I told the young lade at the register that it was the worst fish I had ever had and all she said was "sorry." I guess Chicken Express has such bad food that they cant afford to have any satisfaction guarantee. Ill never be back, and thats my guarantee!

Been here a few times. Their service is really hit-or-miss. There have been a few times where I had to wait over 20-30 minutes to get our food. Its a shame that this location leaves Chicken Express a bad name. The one in my hometown never takes so long and is always prompt and regardless of the time, theyre phenomenal.

Love this place. My son plays baseball nearby and we come here once a week. Chicken tenders are always perfect and I love the mashed potatoes and gravy. Im not a big tea guy, but I love their Sweet Tea. Staff is always friendly, and food is always great. One of the best fast food places around.

The best fast-food drive-through chicken in Austin. Always hot and fresh. Very friendly staff, and usually not too busy. Catfish every day - pretty decent catfish for drive-through, and always generous portions. Always have to wait for livers. Try the corn nuggets instead of fries!

Chicken Express is the best fast food fried chicken! The meet is very moist and tender. The sides are very good. If you dont mind playing with your food open a roll and put a tender with mashed potatoes inside you wont be disppointed with this sandwich.

Love the chicken . Drive 8 miles today get chicken... opens at 1030 am. Pull up at 1050 am. Told that they have a high cater order and cannot take my order. Where is the manager? Preparation for business hours and customers? Disappointed

We have never been disappointed here. Everything is always hot and delicious. Um not a catfish fan but what they so make it worth the wait. If you order it, plan to wait for it to be cooked fresh for you. Everything else you can grab quickly.

Friendly staff that helped hook me up by allowing me to order some livers on top of my fried tenders. The chicken is very crispy and hot, the sides are good (my favs are fried okra and corn nuggets) and the price is great. Will be coming again!

Delicious catfish, corn nuggets, and fried okra! When I get that craving for some good ole fried food this is the place! Order is made fresh and may take 10-15 minutes to get, but piping hot and well worth the wait!

Should not be called Chicken EXPRESS. Food is great but never fast. Average wait time in drive thru for me is 10-15 min. Hard to decide to go back when you know your food will take so long.

Manager is rude. The cleark does not understand the menu. You get home and find what you didnt order. They over charge for food and it happened multiple times. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
