The custom cake I ordered was bland, dry, and completely the wrong color. I had 2Tarts make the cake for my mothers 55th birthday. We threw her a huge party & I needed a large cake. They require you to order your cake at least one week in advance- which is fair, so to make sure everything was perfect I ordered my cake two weeks in advance. I ordered a strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting. I asked the girl who took my order if they could make the base frosting a soft coral in color, and the accent flowers teal in color. She assured me they could. However, when we picked up the cake & took it to the party we discovered that the entire cake was HOT PINK! The flower accents while beautiful, were not teal, but rather they were bright blue. This loud color combination made the cake look more like a neon baby shower cake, rather than an elegant cake for a distinguished 55 year old woman. This was disappointing, but we still looked forward to the cake at least tasting good...Sadly, the cake was so dry it just crumbled when I cut in to it. The taste was bland, and didnt taste like strawberry at all. At best it tasted like a flavorless HEB sheet cake, and it was hard to eat, because it was just so dry. It was like trying to eat saw dust. To top it all off the frosting was buttercream, not the cream cheese frosting I had asked for. For what I paid I had hoped to get a beautiful, elegant, delicious cake for this very special, once in a lifetime occasion for my mom, but what we got was the opposite. Overall this was a very disappointing experience, and not at all worth the $95 price tag in my opinion.

I found this bakery on Google when trying to find a place that did wedding cakes in the New Braunfels area. I live out of town, so I called them to see when we could do a consultation for my wedding cake. I was told they are not available on weekends to meet but I could come in on the weekend and BUY some cupcakes to taste instead of getting samples during the consulation. I live 3 hours away and work a full time job, so that was a little upsetting. So I went there and bought my cupcakes to try their different cakes. There were good, so I went with them to do my wedding cake. I had them make a small 2 tier cake and 5 dozen cupcakes. I took off work and went and had my consultation which just consisted of paying a deposit and telling them how I want my cake decorated. I gave them pictures and paid my deposit. We worked out how I wanted my cake to look and what I would have my cake topper as. A few weeks afterwards, I go back to pay the rest of my cake off and finalized plans. On the day of my wedding the delivery lady gets there and delivers my cake. She leaves. I look at my cake and the decorations were wrong. I had told them I wanted our initals on the side of the top tier so I could put my cake topper on, but was it like that nope. The initals were on top, so i couldnt even put the cake topper on top. Made me a little upset, because I had order a specail cake topper from my florist to go on the cake and couldnt even use it. My overall experince was good, but I will say to make sure to be direct as to what you want.

This place is the BEES KNEES! Really though as soon as you walk in the food items on display sing to your heart, head and stomach. Perhaps I have a low resistance to the temptations of a well made baked good. There is a plethora of yum. We go nearly every weekend as a family motorcycle ride or a chance to hit the farmers market after a latte and scone, pig in a poncho, cinnamon roll or whatever new item there is to try that day. Yet have we had something sub par. Their case cakes and especially their specifically prepared event cakes always look amazing. Do you like lattes or coffee? They have that too. Chai? Yep! Do you like it a little dirty? Well they can help with that too! But only the Chai lattes. Its a great little place. The atmosphere is always warm and welcome just like the staff. Even the customers have always been happy and friendly and most of the time you can strike up a conversation with other patrons. Its hard to be mad at the world when you have a delicious cupcake or Nutella poptart on your table. Visit this place. Forget your troubles and worries for a while and indulge in a little tastiness. Your body will thank you and youll leave the shop with a lighter outlook on life.

I have ordered 3 or 4 times from this Bakery. Loved the taste and the look of all the cakes. CrHowever, the last 2 times were horrible. I ordered cupcakes, cake and a 3 tier wedding cake for my daughters wedding. They were supposed to deliver and apply the groom and bride figurine on top of the cake. Not only did they show up up very late, they didnt apply the figurine and left no place on the top tier for us to do it and just left without telling us. However, I made the mistake of forgiving these messes and ordered again from them a baby shower 3 tier cake with an elephant cupcake design. I was horribly embarrassed when my guests bit into the cupcakes and realized they were eating cornbread with icing. The cake wasnt much better! It was embarrassing and the prices I paid for these I should have received better! When I called about the wedding fiasco they didnt care and didnt even offer discount for the baby shower purchase. I should have walked away then but I didnt. Lesson learned!! Update: I spoke to 2 tarts and they refunded me the cost of the cupcakes, which I think was nice so I updated the review to 3 stars.

Stopped in for some cupcakes and a couple cookies for my husbands birthday. I bought german chocolate, chocolate, and red velvet. The cupcakes are beautiful and looked very tasty, but unfortunately were very dry. When removing the paper from the cupcake, a thick layer of cake came off with it. They put a small scoop of the german chocolate filling in top of the cupcake which sort of makes it impossible to get a taste of filling with every bite. The frosting for the red velvet cupcake was almost overpowering the cake itself. Theres so much on it that I took over half of the frosting off and still the taste of the cake was lost. I was told the chocolate cupcake was also bland and nothing memorable. I wanted to love this place from the moment I walked in. Their decor was adorable, comfortable, and the staff were very nice. I wouldnt purchase their cupcakes or cookies again and likely wouldnt recommend this place for those items, but there are many things on their menu and Im sure there are things that are amazing. At least the lemonade was great!

This place was just alright. They did a really nice job on our wedding cakes so if thats what youve come for, my rating of the wedding cake side of this shop is probably a 4.5 stars, my only upset was they were supposed to take care of preparation for our 1st anniversary cake the one that you freeze and they did not do it. So we brought this up with them and they did apologize and gave us a 20$ gift certificate for there bakery fine whatever. Now this is where my three star rating is from, we went in to use our gift card and we ordered a vast majority of items most were dry and old which I guess I can see as we went in the evening but still I expected better. The cookies were hard and had no taste the cupcake we got was alright. Good flavor but also dry. The brownies we ordered were dry and inedible just not what you expect from a bakery that everyone raves about I was very disappointed in them as I have had good items previously so I guess go in the morning if you are going to go at all to get moist baked goods. Hope this helps.
