Approaching the building there was not a very pleasant aroma. The front porch looked really nice, except for a massive spider web that looked like it had been there at least a week. Atmosphere was musty and dark once we entered... I wanted so bad for this place to smell like delicious food, but it smelled like maybe an old library or museum instead. Waitress was friendly and nice. The chips and queso was ok, needed some more pico de gallo in it and was a ridiculously little amount for $9. I ordered the Baja chicken sandwich and upgraded to a Caesar salad for my side. The salad just wasnt any good at all, didnt have much flavor and it looked as if the lettuce was browned but covered in dressing; Id recommend trying a different side. My sandwich looked scrumptious, but the chicken was super tough, had serious problems cutting it in half with my knife. Although the bacon, cheese, avocado, and spicy ranch was a very nice combination and not every bite was such a nuisance to chew. Would be quite a great sandwich if that chicken hadnt been so dead and had a little better seasoning. My husband got a New York strip steak with a creamy seafood topping... sorry I dont like seafood, so I didnt pay attention to which type. It was cooked the way he asked, but I dont think he would get that particular cut again. The sautéed veggies that came with it were pretty good I thought. Overall though, unlike other reviews I read, I felt it was a little pricey. Our dinner and appetizer with one tea was $80 It seems like it may be a hit or miss type place, I think Id maybe give them another chance though.

My husband and I went here about 6 months ago liked it. We went yesterday the smell when you walk in was very overwhelming, should have left. We wanted to sit at the bar no problem, because no one was there... I ordered a Patron Silver margarita on the rocks my husband ordered a double Crown and coke. My drink was not Patron nor was my husbands Crown even though we watched him pour from the correct bottle. My drink was served in a tea glass instead of a high ball glass. Nasty we could not drink them. We ordered chips and white cheese dip that was Velveta the chips were cooked in old grease. We even got a burnt fry in with the chips. I ordered a cup of Gumbo that was frozen and microwaved with one small piece of sausage, shrimp, chicken and lots of bell pepper Nasty. My husband got the burger and onion rings he said it was ok I tried a onion ring the batter was still raw inside. I tried his burger very greasy and frozen patty. In the bar area are these comfortable looking leather chairs that the staff were sitting in playing a video game on a phone loudly.

Walked in, smelled stale fryer grease, we still smell it on our clothes at home. Service was slow and unprofessional. Bread was barely warm from the microwave giant hamburger rolls. Salad was generous and balsamic dressing was good. I didnt expect 4 oz of straight from the Costco bag shredded colby jack on the salad- would have been better without. We were out for a family dinner with 5 adults and 2 little kids. Took over an hour for our food to arrive. 3 other tables, to be fair, one was a 12 top. When our food finally arrived, it was fine, everything as ordered. Po Boys were served on the same weird hamburger bun, not french bread. My risotto was very good. Overall , we were there for 2 hours. Every woman from my 88 year old grandmother on down was referred to as "honey", not "maam" and men were "my man". As a personality quirk, this is fine- as a server in a nice restaurant, its not professional. Even though the food tasted fine, the overall experience was terrible. Had I just been there with my kids, we would have left.

Love this place. The food is boutique and several levels above your typical chain restaurant. The people who work here are freindly, have a foodie mentality, and remember you. The atmosphere is pretty laid back and the jukebox is always playing non top 40, indie, alternative, exellent music. Their simplest item is a 10 dollar hamburger that is more of a gourmet experience than a burger. The last time I went, they had actually sprinkled fresh dill on the pickle slices.....that attention to detail and a loving presentation and high quality make their food something special. Its a great place to go spend a few hours eating, drinking, and relaxing.

Large group, they knew we were coming, still not enough seating asked to add on to the table, fought us because they said it was against the rules to sit over 20 people together and made us split the group. There was a game on I wanted to see, they had all three of their tvs on the same game and gave me crap over switching it to a different game even though the other game was about over(even though it was on three screens)!!!! And to top it all of, they are way over priced to the point where they charged me $1 FOR ROCKS!!! That is right, a dollar extra for asking for you whisky to be iced down! ARE YOU SERIUS!!!! That came to be $.25 a cube.

Loved the layout , but had a very bad Ventilation problem on Saturday night and the Food was very bland and the service was very POOR . It was so Smokey in the whole place that you could barely see the table next to you . We had a party of 14 and we could not enjoy the Birthday because of the SMOKE . Our Waiter could not keep up with our needs and we didnt get several things that we ordered either . I was very disappointed with the whole experience. By the way the Waiter made sure that all 8 Checks had a 18% gratuity added to each check , which actually I thought was very inappropriate .

I had really expected more from a place with the pricing they have. The bread and cinnamon butter were the best thing that we at. Five of us ordered stuffed mushrooms, steak, enchiladas and the Baja chicken sandwich. None of which I would ever order again. The Keylime pie was really good as well but not for the price. Five people with no alcohol was $150 and the food was marginal at best. We should have recognized something was off when only 4 other people were there at dinner time on a Sunday evening. We will definitely not be returning.

The service was terrible, the 1st 2 drinks we ordered from their drink menu, they were out of ingredients to make them. We were not given the bread they give to all diners. Out of 5 orders 1 was correct. Waitress was very nice and apologized over and over. Then when we received the bill, they charged us for items we didnt order. I like the atmosphere, but dont think I will be going back, their choice of steaks in very limited and over all the food was not that great for the price.

this has quickly become one of our top 3 restaurants in McKinney. Great beer selection, great service (which is rare these days) and the food is CONSISTENTLY awesome. The owner is always present which is a sign of a quality restaurant and they have the BEST CHEESEBURGER IN TOWN! Take a pass on the square one evening and go one more block east. You will not be disappointed. Just keep doing what you do Louisiana Street Grill!!! People will come to discover your greatness.
