I have been to this location countless times over the last 5 years. This most recent visit reflected the practices of hard economic times I suppose. The service at the register was mediocre and the $22.00 spent for 2 people to have lunch should have been the big red flag. I tried some of the stir fried meat from their new "Asian food" bar, and had to remove it from my mouth in to a napkin due to the bad flavor, and the rubber consistency. Moving forward, the pork chops were very greasy, and over-cooked, and the broccoli was under-cooked and hard to chew. I went for a piece of rotisserie chicken, as this is usually a sure winner, and there was only one mauled piece left in the tray. The tray was not refilled the entire length of my visit. The sweet potatoes with marshmallows were watery and mushy. I gave up on lunch, and went to the desert bar, striking out on the peach cobbler, as the ice cream I put on top was mostly ice, not cream. I used to love this place in spite of the health repercussions. The best part of the lunch ended up being a small personnel sized coconut cream pie. Oh, they no longer bring fresh rolls to the table anymore. Get up and get them yourself! They should make the tea self serve also, as my glass sat empty for more than half my visit. As much as I used to enjoy coming here, I decided that would be my last visit. Ryans is fresher, friendlier, faster, and cleaner, and their lunch is $3 less per person. Thats right, Golden corral is $7.99, and Ryans is $4.99, neither include drinks. This is a "No Brain-er"

I was @ Golden Corral Mesquite two weeks ago, they had fajitas on the buffet witch looked pretty good... When I got back to my table I ate some of the Fajita chicken and didnt taste right so I cut into one and it was uncooked... We were party of 14 people 2 of us had got some fajita chicken and both were sick by the next morning. Last Tuesday finally GM calls me back and tells me corporate or insurance company will be calling you.. No one has called me, and now the GM will not return my calls... I would not recommend this place to anyone... Very poor customer service, I was in the restaurant industry for several years and not acceptable the way I have been treated... So Today Monday, I texted the GM and he insulted me offered me free meal and my money back... Said he has gave my information to cooperate, I text this man back and he never texted me back... What a general manager... Jennifer the manager there has been most helpful and very kind and understanding... Really she has outstanding customer service, just maybe the GM guy should learn about CS from Jennifer...

I didnt like anything. I spent $75 on a family dinner. My daughter got some pineapples, they had hairs in them. We went to the bar and it was hairs in the tub of pineapple. We told the waitress, so she can change out the fruit at the bar. The waitress got very surly. She said "what do you want me to do. That hair is in there! So what" . Then went on I Spanish being rude and talking to other Spanish speaking workers about us. She didnt even know my mother and I speak fluent spanish. Read and write. Even though we are of AA descent. She called us ass holes in spanish. Then the manager comes by and gives us 1/2 0ff (1) adult meal the next time we come back. Thats crazy. We didnt finish eating, any of us. She could of Gabe me my money back. Who gonna come back after a waiter was that horrible. They might spit In our food. She was very belligerent in spanish. We left hungry. Plus it was (5) of us. Not (1) I want my money back, that what I want. They dont deserve my money. AGAIN!! WE LEFT HUNGRY! Our waitress was Bianca. Thats the worse Golden corral in america!

My experience was good but there was this guy across from us that was using alcohol to clean knives and he picked the spot that six children were sitting to do that one of them had asthma we kept telling that guy but he would not move, nor do anything helpful. I have been told by waitresses that golden corral was not self service, yet the waitress has only came when we walked up to her and said waitress can you serve us but when I said that she either ignored me or gave me a long stare. The food was very good they had many food choices for kids through adults but there were little seating areas plus if you had to go to the bathroom out of the mall sized restaurant they had only one bathroom and the soap was a disaster i mean do they even refill the containers and even if they did it was way to watery plus the hot water or should i say cold water was ok and the decorations well they had many decorations the place had beautiful light up signs and when i came in my mouth was watering i suggest you go there.

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Bakersfield. The food was very similar to some of the top French restaurants Ive visited. We went there for our six year wedding anniversary and were very impressed by the quality of the food and the amazing wait staff. We had their tartare which had real truffle shavings on it, filet mignon with high quality foie gras. The corn dish was spectacular! We also had the chicken and it was very moist with an amazing sauce. Great wine selection. We will definitely be going back and not just for special occasions. The only downside to that evening was the valet service. Management needs to really look at who theyre hiring. The staff member had a "friend" who was acting like he worked there trying to get money from us. When we refused he tried to get in a fight with us, hassling us, and then we found out he didnt even work there. It put a damper on the end of our nice evening. and not a good image for The Padre.

I went to Golden Corral and brought 2 others with me. First and foremost. This is NOT an expensive restaurant so I did not expect a high end menu. STILL..I found the food satisfactory. No problems with hair or temperature. There was a large assortment so surely everyone can find something. The waitress was very kind. Brought us our drinks. I dont speak Spanish but I didnt need to as they all communicated just fine. They even turned on the cotton candy machine as we were leaving at my special request for some. You want high-end food - go PAY FOR IT somewhere. You want a DECENT meal with a large assortment. THis is a GREAT PLACE!!!! I left a tip. The girl worked hard - made sure we had drinks and glasses were full AND the entire time taking care of a rather large section. I wouldnt bring business partners here but for a nice meal, cheap price, great assortment, it is perfect!!!

Dirty tables, dirty floors, dirty dishes, cold, old food, unprofessional staff. Does anyone working there speak English? My family has been going there for 7 years. It used to be so nice. After yesterday, we will not be going there anymore. The food was cold. The floors were sticky. It was 11am when we got there. Everytime i got up to get a plate and fork i had to leave it on the side & get a new one because it had old food on it. And theres never any spoons! The staff were loud, yelling at each other across the room on Spanish. Management was standing over the salad bar playing with food while he flirted with the staff behind the salad bar. The staff walked back & forth on their cell phones and eating food. I went to get ice cream and even the ice cream bowls were dirty! It was very unpleasant! We wont be going there again.
