As a former employee of this homely slop house, I can single handed inform you that this is not a place for those with weak stomachs, or weak psyches. The level of cleanliness attained at Rice Lovers is one that you would expect to find in a Football Locker room. I reminisce often on days of finding cockroaches, silver fish, and all other manner of nastiness in the kitchen. All of which are casually dismissed with a hand, or stepped on by the chefs or innocent illegal immigrants who roll the egg rolls. Furthermore, on days that it is unfortunate enough to be raining, the Chinese chefs (who speak bar none, no english) decidedly opt to smoke in the kitchen rather than go out into the torrential downpour. I cannot tell you how many times I encountered ashes in the meals that I would have to take back to have them "Fix". Their idea of fixing being that they toss it back in the wok, add a bit more sauce and pop it back out again. I honestly feel that I should be held as a criminal for serving some of the stuff they called "fine cuisine", however I needed the job. Though Im not sure I could call this place a job, the rate of pay was absolutely criminal. The lovely, family oriented owners (Christina and Barry, dont let them lie to you and claim that theyre just workers). Offered me a phenomenal $3.00 per hour. In addition to this lunacy, they also had the audacity to steal tips from my total every single day, under the facade of "Its taxes". Though I never received a W-2 or anything of the sort, which raises questions. If youve managed to read this, do me a favor, copy my detailed anecdote, and send it to everyone you know. This place is criminal, and frankly I would not be alarmed if we all get cancer from the POUNDS UPON POUNDS of MSG used in EVERY plate. Good luck, and please know that this detailed rant comes from the tall white guy with glasses that used to serve you.

I usually go to Lovers egg roll, which is great! but this time i decided to try something new. I ordered rice lovers mongolian chicken and crab Rangoons to go. When i got home i poured some of my fried rice in with my mongolian chicken. My rangoons were good, a little over filled with cream cheese to my liking though and the red sauce they provide to dip them in, at most chinese restaurants is usually kind of soupy looking, this looked like jelly. I ate my mongolian chicken and rice and it tasted ok. However my sister went to take a bite of just the plain rice and she imediately jumped up, ran to the trash and spit it out. She said it tasted like mildew. Me curious, i picked the rice up and did not even have to taste it, it smelled like rotten, out of date milk! I couldnt believe i did not taste that through the taste of the mongolian chicken. I guess all of the onions in the chicken could have over powered the mildew taste. I would not give this place a chance! If your looking for good chinese, go not even a mile down the road to lovers egg roll next to jacks pub.

I always loved the food at Rice Lovers at Hardin and Eldorado Pkwy in Mckinney. I have been eating there since 2001. I hadnt eaten there in a while and ordered my absolute favorite, the Moo Goo Gai Pan, this week. They have changed their recipe and some of the ingredients. I always found them to be high quality tasting dishes that were well flavored with subtleties you would definitely never seen in say Mall Chinese or Chinese buffet. This week when I ordered the Moo Goo Gai Pan and the Pork Lo Mein it might as well have been a buffet dish. It was lacking the quality and taste I formerly expected from them. Im guessing theres been a change in ownership. Im terribly disappointed, but I want others to know that its not what it once was. I wont be ordering from there again.

The food is a little pricey, but I think it was totally worth it. The steamed dumplings and the sauce they came with were amazing, and they were steamed to perfection. The sauce on the sesame chicken was a little thick, but very flavorful. The chicken was also cooked perfectly, and came with a side of broccoli. And, even though the delivery driver got lost, he was still here very quickly. All in all, huge portions of delicious (if slightly over priced) food delivered quickly by a cute delivery driver. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

This was literally the WORST meal Ive ever eaten. I was craving chinese food tonight and decided to pick up some dinner to go. The sauce was a gooey mess and the meat tasted like it was FAKE meat. I literally cant tell you what kind of meat was in my dinner. I just spent $16 and had to throw it all away -- it was too disgusting to eat. Im very agreable and will eat just about anything.....so if I cant eat something, you know its gross. I just hope I can save someone the expense and the hassle I just went through.

I took my 9, 10, & 11 yr old picky eaters there last night. All ate from the kids menu. We all had edamame and dumplings for appetizers. One had BBQ ribs and the other two had sweet & sour chicken. I had pepper steak. The kids all give it 10 thumbs up. For one, it has surpassed PF Changs & Pei Wei for their #1 spot. For the other two, its a close second. I found the portions large, the food excellent and the service friendly. Highly recommend.

This is a wonderful Chinese food restaurant. Large family style servings of traditional Chinese cuisine. Lemon Chicken is our favorite, its a breaded cutlet deep fried and sliced over a bed of cabbage served with lemon dipping sauce. Lo Mein, Beef w Broccoli are close seconds. Staff is wonderful and polite, our waiter even did a trick with the chopsticks so our three year old could eat with them. We highly recommend this establishment.

Food here is usually good & theyve replaced any spoiled food but were very apprehensive & refused replacing the order. They dont realize how a missing dish can ruin the meal. Today theyve refused replacing ANYTHING because I didnt call them at 10pm (picked up order at 9:30pm) on mothers day, after we already had to go elsewhere to eat. Headed up there to talk to a manager about business ethics. Ill post the conversation.

Every time I order the same items from them, the total amount is different. Their menu online doesnt show the prices. The coupons are a joke. It says 2 free cups of soup. I told them the soups are free but they said that its not if I dont pay in cash. No, the other coupns offering gift cards require a cash transaction. The soup coupon doesnt. They dont honor their prices or specials.

We love Rice Lovers! We always get the crab rangoons, veggie spring rolls, veggie lo mein with the hot special sauce (a must!) and chicken lo mein with hot special sauce. It satisfies our meat eaters, pescatarian, and the (almost) vegan in our family! Their delivery is fast and your food gets there hot and delicious!!
