Ive been going here for over a year and finally going to review it. This is my go-to in the wooldlands for sushi and Korean food. Honestly, the Korean here is better than the Korean food in the Koreatown in Houston. They dont have traditional grills at the table, but its an Asian fusion restaurant, there shouldnt be. The galbi is savory and perfectly marinated as well as the bulgogi. I prefer the galbi because I love short ribs but the bulgogi deserves recognition for those who love thinly sliced ribeye. They also have bibimbap, spicy pork bulgogi, and they even have hwedupbab which Ive only had in Koreatown Los Angeles. Turns out the owner is Korean! No wonder its so good!! My husband loves the sesame chicken and though I prefer beef, I always save room for a few bites. As for sushi, the salmon here is hands down the freshest on the north side of town. If we have room for rolls, we get an oceans five because its loaded with fresh fish and then we pick one of the ones marked as their specialty rolls depending on our mood, but they are all amazing. Oh, and we often to-go a chicken hibachi with brown rice to take home. Bad habit. Now you know who we are Umami. Thank for being consistantly delicious!

I found Umami to be an acceptable experience, ruined by exceptionally high prices and a dark, dated interior. The sushi was good (though the tuna was bland) but not great. It was marginally better than you would get at HEB a block away, but at four times the price! The chicken teriyaki was flavorless, despite the fact that it was drowning in sauce. An indication that the chicken itself was probably frozen not fresh. Again, the problem is not that the food was bad. Just that it costs 2-3 times what comparable quality would cost elsewhere, making it a poor value.

Ate at this location on Saturday for lunch with my wife and 8 month old son. We were greeted and seated rather quickly. The waiter gave pretty good descriptions of the food when my wife asked about different dishes and was very polite even when the baby started getting slightly fussy. The food was also really tasty, though I underestimated the size of the bento box and didnt have room for dessert. Looking forward to coming back and sampling more of the menu. Hopefully Ill have room to try some of their desserts next time!

Been here several times with good experience. Most recent horrible. No bartender, new sushi chef apparently no experience. Food tasted good but way to long to get anything. Upon leaving was given multiple excuses for issues "Not to make any excuses". Ended badly, completely unprofessional individual would not listen or stop talking.

Their lunch menu stated in writing "includes either soup or salad" and they wouldnt honor it. The server said it would cost extra. If you cant trust what a place puts in writing, in their lunch specials menu, can you really trust the food? I shouldve known better. It was totally dead at peak lunch time. Go at your own risk!

Atmosphere is nice, our server was very nice. Food tasted great, hot, and fresh. My wife had chicken fried rice, I had chicken hibachi and we shared an order of crab puffs. Everything was fantastic and fairly priced for the service received and the taste.

Food and service was fair at best, not great, but not overly poor. Tuna Hamachi was older fish. Which was evident by the flavor. We asked for "spicy", on our order; jalapeños in asian food is not a good idea, nor, does it make it spicy.

My favorite sushi restaurant in The Woodlands area. Fresh, creative rolls, really good daily specials including bento boxes, several oriental and domestic beers and wines/sake. Prices are very reasonable for quality of food and service
