We live near this restaurant and have eaten here several times in the past. Last night, I had the Rainbow trout on the dinner menu and became sick within an hour of consumption and threw up my entire meal at home. So I called the restaurant manager "Reyna" and told her about my experience. I explained that I got sick, but that I didnt think the cause was due to the food being spoiled per se, but that it might have been because it was extremely oily and heavy. I told her that the food came out hot. She said that that is the way the dish is prepared--with butter. This whole time she never apologized for my getting sick from the food or offered to compensate me for my bad experience. She then said, "Well, I wonder if youre allergic to some of the ingredients in the dish like gluten or the butter. I told her that Im not allergic to either and regardless of the exact cause of vomiting she should have shown some sort of empathy that I vomited my guts out last night. I found it odd that she was doing all of this "investigating" as if she was a medical professional or something. I understand that she needed to write down what had happened, but some of her questions were ridiculous. Then she asked me about how long it took me to throw up my meal (1 hour), and then she commented," Well, it doesnt sound like bacteria or anything food borne because you threw up within an hour of eating the fish". And I told her that I had already said that I didnt think it was likely due to a bacteria like Salmonella, Listeria, etc. (Im a medical professional), but the point is is that I threw up my meal and it was not a good experience!! She then said, "Well, there were 7 people who ordered the trout last night and no one else has gotten sick." What absolutely appalling customer service. At this point I asked to speak with her higher up or the owner and told her I was upset that she hadnt once apologized up to this point (not even remotely) nor had she asked how I was feeling now. Instead, she became defensive and said, "I did apologize"! Which is not the truth, because I had been anxiously waiting for some sort of "Im sorry that happened, Im sorry you got sick, etc. the entire time she had been interrogating me for my symptoms. She also said, "Sometimes you can get nausea from eating oily food (I know that already and Im not looking for medical advice from a restaurant manager) and I threw up once after eating buttery popcorn". And Im thinking, I cant believe this lady is droning on and on like this and doing nothing to help rectify what happened. I finally hung up the phone and I will be writing the owner tomorrow. It was surprising to encounter such an incompetent and idiotic manager at a high end restaurant. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Have enjoyed this restaurant before. Visited on Fri 7/9, and the whole experience was bizarre - TERRIBLE. To start off, all seafood seemed to be lacking the chefs touch. Calamari was tiny and soggy. Trout was soggy when the bread crumb topping should have been crispy. Service - love the Italian laid back style and lived in Italy for 3 years but waiting an hour for food to come out and then another hour for dessert was a bit odd. Usually, even in Italy, waiter will ask the ladies if they would like some drinks first. Must have been about 15 minutes after the 6 of us sat the topic of ordering drinks came up from waiter with drink menues. Lastly, were very low maint folks so doesnt take much to make us happy, good company and average service are usually good enough. Last thing that happened was dessert, I had called ahead and asked if I could bring a store bought cake, person said fine. Then, when at restaurant, greater person asked if it was store bought or gourmet, store bought so they put it in frig. Then, come dessert time 2.5 hrs later, a terrible manager lady came out, and at our table said "is the cake you brought store bought?". Well, it was supposed to be a surprise so there goes that. Then, at the table in front of everyone she asked "is this store bought or gourmet?" Seriously, 3rd time asked now. The cake we brought was a small HEB cake with some graphic writing on it for a friends retirement. Then, the lady asked, "well, if we cut this for the table then it will be $3 per person, are you fine with that?" Wow, talk about winning the unclassy award. An extra dish was also brought to table that was never ordered that the waiter did NOT take off the bill. Never returning, poor food and service experience. This may be only the 2nd bad restaurant review I have left in my lifetime but it was a bizzare experience that I would not want someone else to have.

Made a reservation for Valentines Day a week and a half ahead of time. This restaurant requires a credit card when you make the reservation; however, when securing it online you cant add a credit card. In their defense they did call and leave a voicemail, twice. They arent available by phone until 4PM daily, making it hard to get ahold of them if you work an odd schedule. This evening, Saturday, I called and they could not find my reservation. I opened up "open table" to see that the reservation was still confirmed but the person on the phone advised they just cancel people out on their end. Pretty terrible experience, especially leaving the reservation in the app. Im positive they have an expectation I tell them if Im canceling, which is why they take the credit card. They dont reciprocate on the courtesy nature they expect their patrons to show. Tremendously awful. Thanks for ruining the evening. This place has been suggested by others, and Ill be a strong advocate of skipping this establishment going forward.

By far the worst Italian restaurant I have ever been to. I would have rather gone to Olive Garden for dinner than waste my money here. I went with friends and we got two appetizers to start. The grilled scallops were horrible, worst $14 I have ever spent. They tasted like a dirty grill and had no seasoning what so ever on them. I couldnt even eat them. The calamari was okay, but for the price it was nothing sprcial. For dinner I got house-made pasta with a pomadoro sauce and sausage. The pasta was so over cooked it was gummy. The sausage was also over cooked and tough. It also didnt look appitizing at all, like it had been sitting under the heat lamps for a while. Their cocktail menu was not exciting, but they did have a big wine list. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT get the Italian margarita, it was disgusting. No one at our table enjoyed it. This place was a waste of money, you would be better off buying a box pasta, jar sauce, and a cheap bottle of wine.

My husband took me to this restaurant for lunch on my birthday. The decor is good and the food is quite tasty, even though the portion sizes of the food are on the small side considering the big price tag. While polite, the waiter did not seem to be very interested in serving us. We only saw him when it was time to order our drink, food and dessert and when it was time to bring the bill. Our water glasses were not refilled even once, we were not offered more than one small piece of bread roll each with our soup and when I gave the waiter my camera to take our photograph, he did not check to see if our eyes were closed or not! As it was lunch time on a week day, the restaurant was pretty empty except for a handful of us. I cannot understand why the service was that bad. We will definitely not go again and we do not recommend this place. The food is good but for the small portion size, big price and bad service, it is not worth the money, time and trip.
