Update: something must be amuck when you go 2 days in a row correct just remembered the servers name is John. Not being an Italian food fan I probably would never have stepped in here because of judging a book by its cover. Its not much from the outside but once you step inside, you will be surprised at the inviting look of interior. This is the kind of place you would take a date but get here before the rush. The pretzel bread that is placed in front of you was a sure thing that they really do not seem to cut corners on their product. The mozzarella sticks which can be easily fixed by making their own in the back instead being the brought in cookie cutter 3" type would really catapult this on their menu, but thats a minor thing. The service is very well-versed meaning that nobody interrupts you while you are trying to speak to your guests yet your empty plate magically disappears when you are not looking some of the times. I wish I remembered the servers name because we made the mistake of sitting at his table around in conversation about 3 hours without even a slight smirk on his face. I say this because this is the type of caliber servers that will be taken care of you here, nothing was unpleasant and you could tell by watching the other staff that they were as well mannered on customer service. The bathrooms are very clean and have a really nice light sent it to them, just try to trip over the large mop bucket on your way in and out. The prices on the menu really surprised me in a sense like most restaurants I.e. Olive Garden for example, want to charge you $9 to $12 for a plate, while in here an average plate will set you back about $7. This is definitely a returnable place. I had the pleasure of tasting the Red sauces from a couple of friends that I was with and can say that they are one of the best sauces that I have ever remembered tasting in my life, not too salty and not too sweet. Remember friends, as a person that really isnt too much of an Italian food fan, this surprised and surpassed my expectations so this could possibly wow you.

I started eating at Adriatic when it opened. Love it, the food was above average, the bread & dip was outstanding. The atmosphere was like eating in a small cafe in Little Italy in NY, that was completed with Sinatra or Dean Martin music playing. And the wait staff was great too, their were a couple of ladys with north east accents and attitudes to match that made eating their a fun experience, they knew your name, they knew your order. That all seams to be gone now! I ate their last night, and like the last 10 times Ive eaten there in the last year I was disappointed. The wait staff look like robots, NO personable touch, no personality and once AGAIN they got my order WRONG, it was just another "ho hum" experience. I might as well eat at one of the chain restaurants. Im not saying I wont eat there again, but it is certainly nothing special and at the bottom of my list.

I went there tonight for a carry out order. I had never been there or heard of it until I got a menu in the mail. My wife and I loved it! We got the pasta sampler, fried calamari, and the meat calzone. Everything was incredible! It was honestly the best calzone I have ever had. The fried calamari was breaded and seasoned perfectly, and the pasta sampler was delicious. Their garlic rolls were very good too (not to die for like some reviews have said, but very delicious). I liked the marinara a lot as well, you could tell it was homemade. My wife and I will definitely be going back here real soon! The prices were very good for the quality of food. From what Ive seen, the restaurant was very clean too. The wait staff was very friendly! 5/5 amazing!

Authentic old-world classic Italian food. Lunch portions are huge and very well priced. Addicted to their "Pretzel-style" bread which is freshly baked and hot out of the oven with butter on the side. The Pasta Sampler is served in an oval casserole dish of lasagna, cannelloni and manicotti. Very good. The Spaghetti and Works comes with al dente spaghetti topped with a meat sauce, sliced Italian sausage and a meatball the size of a tennis ball. Excellent for the carnivore in the family. And then there is The Alex...the sauce is a cross of an alfredo, vodka which gives it the "pasta rosa" appearance and served with tender pieces of chicken. a very popular dish on the menu.

Adriatic Cafe is a bit of a "hole-in-the-wall". The food is solid, and the bread is wam, soft and fresh out of the oven. It a paper napkin place. If you are not there for lunch by 11:35 am, you may have to wait for someone to finish before you can get a table. I agree with other comments about it being dark. The way the sun hits the front of the store, they have to keep the blinds closed, or the patrons would be both blinded and baked. I have never had anything bad there, but you wont find anything that is amazing, either (maybe the bread . . .) I eat lunch there about twice a month, and often take others, and Ive never had any complaints.

Tasty food at excellent prices with a comfortable atmosphere, great background music heavy on the Rat Pack, and a friendly, helpful staff who keep their delicious, addictive garlic bread baskets filled and drinks topped off pronto. My only issue is with the type of chicken they use, which has the texture of processed, "thawed-from-frozen" chicken. However, they make it taste wonderful with their various sauces and other ingredients so I overlook the texture factor. My wife and I have been frequenting this place a few times a week and we are quickly becoming regulars. It just missed getting 5 stars.

This place blew me away. I had the Adriatic Special and Tirsmisu. First, I love Good Italian Food, but, until now, had not found it in Houston. My first failure was Osteria Antica, and they place sucked. Ive tried a few others, but had not found anything I could not easily make at home.. until today. We went at 830 and it was still crowded. I will be back for sure. Note: If you are a US diner who expects to get your courses back to back then dessert with no time to dine, just eat, this is not your place. If, on the other hand, you want to dine, This is a great place.

My stepmother is Italian so whenever she visits I get the real deal, but this is as close as Im going to get when shes away. Their garlic rolls are addictive and will have you begging for more. I also love their dipping sauces for the rolls. I usually order a chicken dish with a light alfredo sauce, mushrooms and spinach. Its a huge portion, but is so yummy, youll want to wear your stretchy pants. I hear theyre coming back. No? Well, for that dish, Ill sacrifice my fashion sense. My only complaint is that they serve Pepsi. Coke, please!
