So heres the deal - I really, really, really want to rate this place 4-5 stars. Ive been three times, taken family and come in a smaller group. The food itself has been either great or used-to-be-great-before-the-waiter-forgot-it-for-20minutes which is really the problem. Inside the restaurant seems nice, is well kept and clean of course, with a nifty aquarium kids love in the entry way but the service has not kept with the ambiance the restaurant seems to promise. The first time we went, the service was acceptable though very slow and inattentive. On our second visit, the server was brusque, ignored us on several occasions, and was clearly the reason we waited a solid 25 minutes between receiving our soup dumplings and our entree orders. We could actually watch the server sit and play on his phone in the booth next to ours while we waited for food and with empty glasses. Other servers who passed us took away our plates for dumplings after a while, but never once did anyone let us know how much longer it would be or that they had even remembered we had other items on order. The whole experience was uncomfortable, long, and mildly frustrating because I <3 juicy dumplings and this place is the closest option. Even so, Ill be driving all the way to Richardson in the future to Jeng Chi for juicy dumplings, impeccable service and great hot tea. Skip this place if you want consistency you guys.

1. Soup dumplings (Steam Juicy Dumpling) They were absolutely amazing, this is something I would definitely come back for. Get it! You wont regret it It comes with 8 pieces and the texture or everything was perfect 2. Pan fried pork bun It was pretty good, Id consider getting it again but I wouldnt crave it by itself The bottom part reminds me of a bánh cam 6 pieces 3. Green onion pancake This wasnt my favorite. It wasnt bad but I wouldnt get it again. It was really bland and Im not sure what the hype is about it I could only eat one piece and my friend could only eat 2 there were a total of 8 pieces 4. Shrimp and Pork dumpling This was pretty basic and good I wouldnt mind eating this again Overall soup dumpling was what made this really good for me especially since I was really craving it the interior was nice and feels classy. Parking is easy. Service was pretty good, Im not one to really have conversations with servers so it was good to me.

Its the best Shanghai restaurant I can find in Irving. I definitely loved the popular soup dumplings (小笼包). The pork was so tender, the broth flavor was perfect. The best part was the buns wrapper, it was so thin that make the soup and meat flavor stand out. Be careful when eating them because it was full of soup inside. Try to break the wrapper and suck the soup first, then eat the bun. Another Shanghai Dim Sum worth recommended was the pan fried dumplings (生煎包). Same soup as soup dumplings inside but thicker wrapper with a crispy fried sesame bottom. I loved the combination crispy taste with the delicious soup. A new Dim Sum I tried last week was soft heart (心太软). It was cut dry dates crammed with rice cake, toped with sesame. Mild sweat but tasty. Typical Chinese desert, I liked it.

We went for the first time last night and I just keep thinking about how yummy all of the food was all morning. The crab dumplings/buns are amazing and worth the money. The green onion pancakes were delicious. Every dish our party of 4 ordered was incredible. I hate that we just discovered this place right before moving out of Irving, but we will not be that far away in Lewisville and will definitely make the trip to try more delicious, authentic Chinese food from the Fortune House.

Weve tried practically all of the Chinese food places around/near Coppell and Fortune House is by far the very best Ive ever had anywhere. We visited for the first time on Christmas for dinner and the service was great, but the foot was even better. We had the chicken & celery dumplings, sesame chicken and fried rice. Theyre house-made mango gelatin was also very delicious. Well go back for sure sometime very soon. Highly recommend!

eggs rolls were terrible, i immediately spit out my first and only bite. hot and sour soup was terrible as well! tofu only no meat. if a chinese food place has terrible egg rolls and soup then they suck for me. glad to never go back! if you want great egg rolls and soup (tom yum gai) go to pho vieng in haltom city. amazing fresh food bought and prepared daily.. fortune house is trash you have to pay for..

Shanghai cuisine with impeccable, attentive hosting team. Dishes even unavailable at other of the finest Chinese restaurants. You can tell how well a restaurant is run by the pride and teamwork of the staff. Try the pineapple shrimp with walnuts and for an after dinner treat, the sesame pumpkin red bean cookies. Our party had 7-8 entrées and each arrived prepared to perfection. In a word Dim Sung.

Amazing. The atmosphere. The staff. The food! Oh man the FOOD! Orange Beef, Ginger Beef, Mongolian Beef, Broccoli Beef, and Sweet and Sour Shrimp. I have tried all and each one was absolutely perfection. The fried shrimp and pork dumplings were amazing as well. Go here. Spend all your money. You will be happy you did. This place is hands down the best restaurant for oriental in the DFW area.

Food was good but service time was very long. Waited 20 mins to be seated. Had 5 waiters ask for our drink order then noone came back to take food order for an hour. After that none came back until closing time. Intended to spend an hour here instead was here 3.5 hrs. Great view if you sit in back dining. Cozy vibe. Service is disorganized tho.

Horrible lunchtime service, our order was wrong but it took so long we did not return, one of us got food first minus the rice she ordered then 10 min later the rest of the food came. We had to get a manager just to get a refill on our drinks and we were there for over an hour. Do not go during lunch if you have meetings, you will miss them.

Ive come here multiple times and the service is awful. The food is passable (pretty sure they use MSG though) but definitely not worth dealing with the very unaccommodating and rude staff. Both times weve made reservations and they always try and squeeze you into a table thats built for less people than you reserved for.

Come here for their famous Steam Juicy Dumplings. Very authentic and made from scratch. The dough is not thick and does not harden to a crisp at the top when steamed. Service is impeccable and the waitstaff always offers an array of great recommendations.

They do have the best soup dumplings Ive had in Texas. However, the other dishes we had that day were not so good. Seemed like the chef forgot to use salt that day. Maybe just one of those days. But its worth it to just go and try the soup dumplings.
