Came in for my birthday expecting it would be up to the same guest hospitality and food quality standards as the uptown park location that I frequent more often, upon arrival with my wife and infant son we were told we "couldnt sit inside" due to a large party renting the back room. It was chilly and windy outside. We sat for over ten long minutes with no sight from a server until the busboy came for our waters and we had to ask to get him. We ordered the baked goat cheese as an appetizer which was delicious but a bit cold and took about 20 minutes to come out, also ordered entrees together so we wouldnt wait any longer as we were beyond hungry. I got the steak and fries and she got the roasted chicken. From the time we finished the appetizer, 20 minutes went by until the server decided to come by to ask if we wanted more drinks, never to say a reason why the food was taking so long. Steak was cold and chewy, fries soggy and my wifes chicken was also cold and bland . We forced this food just to not be hungry any longer... The icing on the cake was that we sat for 20 minutes with empty plates until the server came back, we asked for the check and AGAIN 15 minutes go by and I see him serving other tables inside and talking to other servers. I had to go inside and ask a different server to get my bill so we could leave. The server came a minute later set the bill on the table and said nothing. Bill was $88 I put $100 in the billfold and left. Im a very generous tipper as I had a serving job long ago and understand the frustrations and hard aches so I left him the $12 which is the lowest % Ive tipped in years....I had $500 in my wallet just to get some champagne bottles, dinner and take care of the staff like I always do,instead we are walking over to the Yard House for drinks so my birthday is not ruined by this distasteful experience. Not coming back to this place. Sad to see a fine spot in city center let go to McDonalds food and Walmart like guest hospitality quality....COME TO THE TASTING ROOM IN CITY CENTER TO TASTE THE FLAVOR OF LONG WAITS, SUB PAR FOOD, AND CARELESS STAFF!

Rather than write a review about our experience, which to get one star you have be overall a really bad experience, lets do this instead: Management/ Owners/ Investors: Get your employees off the phone. In a purse or bag, they are locked up. Not allowed. Extensive training. Not on just wine. Please do not let your waiters think they are so hip and entitled that we have to hear them making fun of people - anyone. Who wants that? "THAT" table??? "OMG" I dont care if you feel like you are being lessened as a human being when you can "just tell" that some of "these people" are the type that would vote for someone you dislike. They need to know each trip back to the kitchen or line is not social time. Discuss anything other than your customers experiences, or something that affects your customers potential to have a great experience - on personal time or in a staff meeting - which ever is appropriate. They need to keep an eye on their table, but do not wear blinds to the other customers experiences. When one waiter sees another actively ignoring a table, or under serving, drinks unfilled - management should have a policy that that can be reported, and the needs of the customer addressed immediately. This is also something the manager and when available the hostess should be doing also. The cost of a restaurant should not equal how smug a waiter is. It should if anything assure exceptional service. If you want to get real, I can have great, simple dishes with a beautiful selection of wines in a half-dozen places. For whatever reason I chose your restaurant instead. Make me want to come back, make me want to give you a great review. I would have preferred that myself. I want to have fun when I decide to spend my hard earned money.

Look... Im not going to lie. I dont know jack about wine and even less about goat cheese. The only reason Im offering up a review is on the venue itself. It seems like the place to go on a date thats a little classier than a bar. Great location... the Centre is full of walking entertainments... but this is about TTR, isnt it? Nice venue... but cold. Maybe thats a wine bar thing and Im just ignorant... but I was freezing. I didnt care for the high tables and high chairs. The outdoor seating was pretty nice. The waitstaff was good. Mood lighting and tasteful decor is spoiled by halogen pendants glaring down. The piping overhead leaked on me. Drip. Drip. Drip. Would I go back on my own? No... and yet I gave it three stars. Why? My date liked it, and so it served its function well.

IF you want a soulless wine place that has exact oz pours this is your place. Average food and overpriced wine. To start the ambiance is missing. The place is one big open room / loud / and looks no different than a cafeteria, not the setting for wine. The food is very average. Their wine list I like; however, they do overcharge on that wine compared to other restaurants near by. They have exact to the oz pours also. I would be happy w/ their pricing if they gave a generous pour like most wine places but here their intentions are to maximize profits by putting in as much tables as possible, sell quickly made frozen treats, and low oz servings of wine. Unfortunately for my less cultured friends I still will have to meet them here but its terrible every time.

As a pizza-enthusiast who recently moved to Houston from NYC I was resigned to the thought of only getting decent pizza on sojourns back to the Big Apple. My first few experiences here were sad to say the least. Yesterday I did a little bit of research online and was getting ready to make the drive to San Antonio to try and get my fix when I heard about the Tasting Rooms Neopolitan-style pies. This afternoon I went to the Tasting Room to pick up a Margherita pie to go and both my wife and I were very pleasantly surprised. Even after 20 minutes in the car on the way home, the pie was worth writing home about. Needless to say, there will be no Alamo for me this weekend.

Terrible service! Our food order was incorrect, our bill was 20 dollars over the actual amount and the next bill was wrong as well. Because the food order was wrong the next pizza came out undercooked and bland. We waited 15 minutes for the check and then an extra ten minutes for them to figure out our actual order. The manager even tried to argue with us over the price until we grabbed the menu to show them. During this entire debacle there were only two tables occupied! Never again.

Great, great, great service. I had to put it three times because their staff is so friendly, attentive, caring that it warrants at least three. Solid place for a chill night out. Its easy to just settle with with a glass of wine and a cheese plate, especially considering the atmosphere. Touch pricey, but it depends on what you get. Be wary of happy hour. Prices are better, but it also gets packed so know what youre getting into. Will visit again.
