Its a bit of a drive for us, but this is our favorite Japanese restaurant, by far. The interior is cozy and tastefully decorated (and clean). The servers are friendly and respectful--they will check on you and promptly bring you everything, but will not impose themselves. The sushi chefs behind the bar are welcoming, kind, and very skilled. This restaurant goes above and beyond to make tasty dishes you will not find elsewhere. Youll notice the vegetable tempura comes with a greater variety of vegetables (like asparagus). You may see soups on the menu youve never seen offered (like Salmon Soup--highly recommended). Prices are in line with other sushi restaurants, but for ambiance and quality of food, youll have a hard time beating Hikari Sushi.

Disappointing!!! I went there with my bf on a Tuesday night, and the joint was packed. I ordered a fried roll (the Temptation) along with 2 other rolls, one of which had fried onions on top (the Kikuri, or something like that). The rolls came out lukewarm, the sin temperature of all fried food!!! My advice: If you are going to order one of the fried rolls, walk in, make sure there are only 5 or less customers seated, and maybe then you will get hot fried rolls instead of the likes of a warm McDonalds french fry.

Nice little sushi place on HWY 6. I would give the ambiance and decor 5 stars. Authentic and very comfortable with at the most 15 tables not counting the sushi bar. I ate alone so service was very poor. Had to go to the cashier to get my final bill. Food was good and fresh, but far from the best in Houston. 3 stars for the sushi I had. All in all an enjoyable little place, good to bring a date adult family dinning. Not suggested for young kids. I would come back to try other items on the menu.

Beware. After many good experiences at this restaurant - tonight was the worst kind. Toro was available. I asked the price. $25/order. I asked for two orders of Sashimi. $50 the waitress said with an expectant look - OK I said. When the bill arrived I noticed $125 for two orders of TORO. I pointed it out and she insisted that was the price because it was "sashimi" I paid, I left, I will NOT be back.

This place used to be really good, my husband and I would go at least once a week! Then they changed management or something and the soup is more watery and the sushi tastes different, dry even. The tuna mango roll was always my favorite, but now the mango is sliced so thinly that I can barely taste it. We used to love this place, but unfortunately wont be returning.

An excellent example of the current trend in Japanese food served in America. Their sushi menu and service and plating remains consistent. The atmosphere while cozy lends to a charm of comfort without overwhleming the senses with decorations or too much seating. overall a good place for a night time date, dinner with friends or family.

I was a little skeptical at first because the outside of this restaurant doesnt look too appealing however the inside is very small and cozy and looks clean. They have good sushi and it does the trick if you want something in the area. I still prefer the sushi towards town though like Ra, Azuma or 400 Sage...

Terrible place that served me old tempura shrimp inside the sushi. I ordered their tempura crunchy roll for pick up and they seven this sushi roll that looked like it had been sitting out for a while. I have pictures that Im going to post on tripadvisor and yelp So be sure to go online.

AWESOME Sushi, and the Miso Soup is to die for! It is a small, but cute little place. The staff is VERY friendly and it has a comfortable atmosphere! They have a great selection and we get something different every time we go. Do yourself a favor and try them out!

A family owned establishment, I have been eating here for years with my family. I got the yellow roll this time around. The chefs greet you whenever you come in and the waitresses are always very sweet. I would recommend the Yellow roll

Absolutely delicious sushi. Very enthusiastic staff. You can see they take great pride in their work. With a fantastic menu such as theirs its hard not to order a great amount of food. As they say in Japan; いただきます!Itadakimasu! Lets eat!

We come here pretty often. It is our go to sushi place. Always great food. Sushi is always fresh. Dont expect a large fancy restaurant when walking in. It is very small. Never a wait when we go.

This place sucks. Please dont come here. There is nothing to eat here. Jk, this place has the best Japanese food on this side of town! Id give them more stars if I could, but I cant so 5/7.

Best sushi restaurant in Houston. Everything is delicious. I come here as much as a broke college student can afford it.
