I used to love this place but they are just not the same for whatever reason. My husband went to pick up a to go order of sushi and 2 kids steak meals. My son is allergic to Dairy, Eggs and nuts which he told the lady who took his order. They wrote "no dairy" on the box but somewhere back in the kitchen there was a mixup because my son broke out in hives. It wouldnt have been terrible but when I called to tell them, the waitress basically called my husband a liar (but she said Im not saying hes lying or anything but he didnt tell me no eggs). He said no dairy, eggs or nuts. Asked to speak to management and they put the waitress back on the phone after she "didnt understand". Proceeded to say there is no way and offered a complementary fried rice during our next visit. Yes PLEASE give me something my son cant have for your screwup. Poor little guy has hives all over his body right now because they did mix up the steaks and apparently put butter on the box that said no butter.

I went to Shogun on a Friday night with my friend for a nice dinner. It was busy, and that was fine. BUT, we went to dinner at what we thought was going to be a somewhat nice restaurant to catch up and have some conversation. However, the entire time there was a very loud band near the bar singing country music in a Japanese restaurant. Now, dont get me wrong, I am one of the biggest fans of country music that there is, but this atmosphere was more appropriate for a western bar. Needless to say, we had to scream at each other to have a conversation, and I was less than pleased. The food was okay, the server was busy, but he was fine too. I just think the live country music is better suited elsewhere, and keep your restaurant a place for dining and conversation.

Server was totally rude, my food came out raw, took 20 minutes to bring out a soup and a glass of water.. was even more rude when i asked for the manager and the manager brought me the remade food it was completely overcooked! Just completely upset with Shogun not the first time this has happened! Plus they werent even busy i saw her playing on her phone in the corner and just ignoring us !!! Oh and another server came over on a different occasion and told my friend to eat her vegetables like you are not our mother but thanks for your input that was not needed!

Worst sushi place I have ever been to. This was by far the worst sushi and fried rice I have ever tasted. I am a sushi person and this was gross. 1st of all there were so many gnats flying around the sushi rice tasted as buffet sushi n the rice was just bad. Not only did i order a roll from the fully cooked menu when I got it the salmon was raw then I was told that fully cooked doesnt always mean fully cooked. I would not ever ever recommend this place to n e one tried something new since Toro on 290 was closed for the day lesson learned.

Went here about a month ago, had a Bento box with a fried rice and a drink. The rice was the worst I have had at a Japanese restaurant. It was akin to buffet rice. The habchi was OK but nothing great. The worst part was the price. I paid around $30 for a Bento box, rice, drink, tax and tip. That is insane. Bento boxes are usually economical and are close to 10 to 12 bucks. Also, what Bento box does not have sushi in it? Would not go back.

Upon entering the resturant was greeted nicely by the hostess and promptly seated. Nice atmosphere and the ambience is very inviting. There are several tvs available for the sports enthusiasts. Really appreciated the knowledgeable staff and extensive selection of sushi. The food was served timely and was very appetizing. Also offered on the menu is a wide variety of sake, definitely recommend to try if you like great sushi.

Had a very disappointing visit. Usually get excellent service but not today. Food was undercooked. Under sauced. Had a cook from a different location. He didnt take his time at all. Ive never had a bad experience at all. The waitress wouldnt even get the manager so we could complain about the terrible food. Will not be coming back to this location for the hibachi portion. Hangry LLC out.

Ive sat at the sushi bar a couple times and the cuts are decent, not the best, but good for a lunch hour. But what kills me is the odd smell when first entering the place. I cannot describe it....but its like there was mold or mildew in the HVAC and there was a feeble attempt to mitigate it. My advice is to sit at a teppan grill and allow the cooking to mask the stench.

We visited for lunch. Even though the food was pretty good and the chef cooked the meal very quickly, we felt there was definitely room for improvement. For instance, we waited for 10 mins before anyone came to take drink requests. Not to mention the place looks to be in need of a renovation. However, if you want a quick meal thats good. Itll more than suffice.

I am only giving this place 1 star because their veggie and shrimp tempura was great. The soup was overly smokey, the salad was watery, the steak appeared to be boiled, the scallops tasted like 3 day old fish, and the fried rice was bland. We sent the entree back but they still charged us for the salad and soup. Sub par food and poor customer service.

Very displeased! Im tired of going to Hibachi grills in Houston and their being no "pink sauce" (Or Yum Yum sauce). Its unacceptable! The only place I know of is Osaka on the east side of Houston. This might not be so bad if the hostess told me when I asked for pink sauce that they didnt have any. Instead, she said they did.

I was Very disappointed in my old go to family bday place. The floors in the dining area were just gross. The bathroom was not clean and no paper towels. The waitress was worried about getting us in and out that I felt rushed to eat and didnt even enjoy our family time. Used to be amazing now Im just amazed its still open.

Over Priced and my steak was so dry and hard and the vegetables was covered in carrots so when they say vegetables they mean carrots and onions my bill for one person was 40 dollars with no drink just water , I dont eat sushi but thats what there good for the whole menu is sushi not the hibachi grill it sucks

Shogun isnt the only place in Cypress to get good food, but its apparently the best place for good service too! Tim, our waiter, served us like he really cared about our dining enjoyment, and we had a really great time. Shogun will be our first choice when dining in Cypress again.

We had a bday gathering on 5/18, and it was fabulous! There will be more fun events there. I would give 5 stars, but the table was very greasy, to the point of me having to pull out wipes and clean it myself. Other than that, WE LOVE LOVED IT!
