We stopped here after visiting the capital building because it was so close. Everything was pretty much okay and nothing really stood out as amazing. We arrived not too long after it had opened and it took a while before we were seated. The staff was polite and helpful, but service was slow. It took a while for just about everything and when we got it food, it was good but basic and a little bland. I really like sauerkraut, but my Reuben was a bit extra heavy with it. The fries that came with my sandwich also had that "previously frozen and not quite reheated right" texture and taste, but the thousand island style sauce that came on the side was pretty good. Price wise, it was about what you would expect for a bar and grill type establishment. I may try this place again on an evening, particularly on a weekend. They had a stage with signs saying they have live music and they also had a pool table, which could make for a fun evening.

The Celtic (pronounced Keltic) Fox sells a variety of food at a reasonable price. Whatever your need, you cant go wrong. They have almost every kind of food and seating available. This includes a dining room or bar seating. The legislators eat there when they are in town. They serve either bar food and make pretty good salads. They sell all sorts of drinks. Its pretty loud in there sometimes. If you have hearing aids, I suggest sitting with your back to the wall especially if you are near the kitchen area. The wait staff are friendly and you get your food quickly. Tables can be put together for larger groups. If there is a large downtown event, look for 8th street (in front of the Celtic Fox) to be closed off but count on them to reserve a large fenced in place directly on 8th street for drinks and listening to a staged band that is often located there too. Great Fun!

Honestly...I was not impressed. We were greeted as soon as we walked up to the door, but the staff seemed more interested in greeting another customer who had walked in just before us than they were in seating us. We stood at the "please wait to be seated"" sign for about 3 very awkward minutes watching staff greet her and walk by us before someone came over to tell us to seat ourselves. It was about another 5 or so minute wait before menus were brought. I ordered the soup and grilled cheese special. The soup was exceedingly salty and acidic...so much so that I did not finish it...and the grilled cheese was barely warmed through. My kids food was okay, but very generic and overpriced.

No hostess, no one greeted us, we just sat ourselves after waiting around and staring at the wait staff. Waited 30 minutes for chips and salsa, and another hour for lunch. I felt like my life had been high jacked by walking into this place. Had to ask for silverware while we stared at our lunch after it did finally come out. Still charged full price for our lunch, Even though the server admitted it should have only take 20 minutes at most. Piss poor service, will never step foot in here again.

This Irish Pub offers a diverse dining experience. From family friendly booths, large group event, to single and social eating/drinking. The Celtic Fox has it all. The Irish are known for the beer and not so much for their food, while this is true for The Celtic Fox, they still deliver great Irish inspired dishes. The selection of beer and the atmosphere gives The Celtic Fox rave reviews, however the food lacks that "something" special that would put this restaurant over the top.

My friend and I lunched at the Celtic Fox yesterday. It was enjoyable - a friendly atmosphere and the Reuben, although not very sightly when served, and the potato soup I had were very tasty. It was a little steep on the prices considering the quality of food, but I would go back because the setup inside and the general atmosphere was nice, with a raised seating area for eating, a stage in the corner, the bar, and then another room with a pool table.

Ordered the brisket "Platter", got a small pile of overcooked greasy meat, over-spiced potatoes, both of which were smothered in a bland brown gelatinous substance and a cup of cold, hard, bitter green beans. The waitress hovered and was actually annoyingly intrusive. Not to mention it was so loud that I could not hear the person next to me. Probably nice if you want to get drunk and party, but I wont eat there again.

Pretty good food at a really good price!! It was nice to just get a cold one and listen to a really good live band with friends. Everyone was very nice their. Has a sort of mellow vibe, but if you want you can get up and dance by the band. Had a lot of fun will go back and definitely recommend to my friends.

A great downtown bar for some live music in the evening and sophisticated enough to grab a drink with a boss or colleague. You never know who youll see there, but lots of movers and shakers drop in for a bit after work before they go home.

We enjoy going here for our book clubs and it is usually only half-full on Thursdays. The food is good and generous and the wait staff always tolerant of anything that happens.

I really enjoy the atmosphere here and the food is very good. I do have problems with it being a bit slow for service though at times. It seems to be hit and miss for me.

Not real Irish food. Order shepards pie and get stew (with potatos) and a scoop of mashed potatos in the middle with cheese. Will not be back.
