This restaurant is in an industrial part of eastern Houston on U.S. Hwy. 90 Alternate Route, just south of Interstate Hwy. 10. The interior and exterior fit the rugged, industrial setting. It is a bustling place, filled with workers on their lunch hour. Lots of Houston memorabilia decorates the walls, and I found it quite clean. The staff were friendly and prompt. I ordered the lunch special Beef Enchilada, which came with refried beans and Mexican rice. Chips and salsa were the appetizer. This meal was quite filling, and the burrito was huge. Everything was tasty, and I could not finish my lunch, it was so much. I would return to and recommend this place. RJT

I was looking for real homemade food , this is not the the place I wont be back . I ordered enchiladas the gravy sauce they put on enchiladas no flavor , rice I could almost be sure it was instant rice (like already made in a bag kind) my husband ordered Carne asada and meat tasted like stew not much of flavor the tortillas were from the bag not homemade. I can say the only real good thing is there sweet tea, and customer service was pretty good as well.

The look of the restaurant has a cozy feel and the walls are covered in interesting things from licence plates to vintage posters. And the food is phenomenal, its one of my favorite places to get " tacos al carbón." Now Im a bean lover and the charro beans were easily some of the best around Houston, reminding me of the ones my grandma would make. And any place that gives me cheese dip for my chips is worth returning to.

Took a client here during the lunch hour, ordered our food and then realized that there was a small cockroach at out table. Then when we moved the same table had little cockroaches crawling on the chair....I know that bugs happen but when it comes to my food rather not think what if. To top off after they moved us they sat someone else at the cockroach table.

Great enchiladas monterrey with Chile sauce from scratch & queso fresco, queso dip is complimentary, huevos rancheros & their breakfast salsa is awesome together.

Nasty ass trucker food ! I ate enchiladas and got sick " i went again to give it another chance , and i ate a burger and got sick again! I think this place has something wrong with theyre food , or i dont know " but something is wrong there. oh ! And the food is tasteless "

Man for real. Im a chef and when i tell you this place is off the chain it is! Very authentic indeed i am very pleased. The staff was so friendly. And was there with my needs and wants even though they could not speak great english. I will be back every lunch!

DO NOT PASS IT UP! So the restaurant is not in the best area of houston however this place is amazing! I came here for the first time because of the great reviews and I am not disappointed! Food is delicious and the service is great! Lots for your money.

queso dip is watered down alot... crispy taco was swimming in grease... chips for salsa were stale and moist ... also they dont have any l mexican hot sauces.. only sauce they have is a homemade pace picante style sauce.. this is texmex not mexican

Charming little place with great service and good food, easy on the wallet too. Good for breakfast lunch or dinner. The kind of place where you might sit next to a truck driver, a cop, or a family. Cozy and quiet - working class and friendly

This ia a place that I have been to at least 3 times. The first 2 were with my mom when we had family over from out of Houston, Tx. It has great frijoles rancheros! I really like the tacos al carbon. Great fast service and good prices!

My favorite food-before-image Mexican food restaurant in Houston. Great lunch specials and equally reasonable prices. They even have their own brand of steak sauce which is fantastic (which I love to mix with ketchup, Gods condiment).

If you want authentic Mexican food with homeade corn and flour tortillas then you will not be disappointed. I have tried alot of Mexican restaurants and this is by far the best ever. A must try if youre in the Houston area!

great food. stingy with the napkins as if they cant afford to purchase more. That is their only flaw. But the best restaurant on the Northeast side of Houston is El Jalapeño off of 59 and Little York. Best Caldo de pollo.
