For the sake of constructive criticism: [service]: I was pleased with the pleasant hostess, and with the very nice bartender. So I gave them 2 of the 3 stars for the service. Lets talk about everything else... [chips & salsa]: chips are what you expect from just about anywhere; nothing special. But the salsa was well done. Just note: its a tad on the spicy side for regular salsa you find anywhere else. Which I like, so Im not complaining; but since Im known as a "spicy freak" Ive learned that if I notice it then I better give others a heads up. [queso]: it was very well done (we ordered it with the meat and guacamole). I suggest it. Thats where the 3rd star comes from. [margaritas]: my brother and I ordered their house margarita... I said nothing of my opinion and asked my brother "what do you think?" - his immediate reply: "tastes like Im just drinking limeade." Which is EXACTLY what I was thinking: we couldnt taste any alcohol so it was a let down. HOWEVER, I decided Id just order one of their premium margaritas, sure Id enjoyed it if I paid more for it: SAME RESULT, weak... very weak. Very disappointing. As a note: given the size of the glasses werent large, if a shot of tequila was in it, youd have tasted it. Soooo it leaves one with questions. [food]: cant rightly say; we cancelled our order (moments before it was submitted to the kitchen - we werent rude or inconsiderate just because we werent happy) and we left... we werent enjoying our experience and we had gone out for the margaritas AS WELL as the food, so we went to another restaurant for both.

Poor customer service. My waitress was extremely rude and ill-mannered. I was accompanied by my friend who repeatedly tried to get the waitress attention, however, all he got was a pat on the shoulder and an "Hold on." She proceeded to tend to her other tables which were directly behind ours, yet she didnt come back to our table for another 20minutes. My friend wanted sour cream and cheese for his food, by the time he got it his food was cold. At that point he asked for the check and a to-go box.... while he filled out the receipt, she hovered over him and when she saw that he didnt tip her, she laughed and said "baby I dont care." As we proceeded to the exit we stopped to let the manager know the service was poor and my friend let her know he wasnt able to even eat his food and while talking to the manager our waitress walked up to her waving the receipt laughing and proceeded to speak in Spanish. My friend asked them to talk in English and the manager told him it was their right to speak in Spanish. These are two Hispanic ladies well over 30 displaying this child like behavior. Being Hispanic myself I was extremely embarrassed by the way they treated my friend and will never return to this establishment again. Also, I noticed on the receipt, above the $2 charge for the sour cream and cheese, she put that she gave us water. We ordered Margaritas and never received a glass of water. Im not sure if its the law to serve water with alcohol but I do know its common courtesy.

For starters I was mistakenly overbooked for their private party room so they offered to close the bar area for us which we agreed mind you we were informed of this mistake on Tuesday and the event was that Saturday. On the day of the event we were told we had to pay an additional amount of $300 on top of the $300 minimum we already paid for gratuity and drinks which were only tea and soda. We only had 16 guests and you mean to tell me gratuity and drinks came out to an additional $300??? We spoke to the owner who was extremely rude and proceeded to be disrespectful, loud and continued yelling at my mom in front of our guests. My mom still apologized even though he was wrong and he still proceeded to yell and be disrespectful. Our waiter was awesome and apologized on the mans behalf several times but never again will I ever entertain the thought of having an event here again!

We had a party here with 30 people in their back room. When we arrived the area was set up for us and there was a table for cake and gifts. There was plenty of space to move around and mingle. The service was excellent and staff and managers were all quite friendly and welcoming! Instead of doing a fajita party package, we decided to allow everyone to order off the menu, the food came out hot and quickly. There were no mix ups or missed plates, and guests all loved what they ordered. Drinks, chips and salsa were continuously refreshed throughout the entire night, and everyone was quite happy. The construction made traffic a pain to get to, but that is no fault of the restaurant, they also have a large sign letting you know where to turn.

Bad service equals bad review, this use to be my wifes favorite place, but tonite she scratched it off her list. We never saw the waiter, instead it was four different people. It took 20 min before we were seen, we actually asked for a waiter twice. The manager was helpful but when my wife sent the order back she acted like she gave us a discount by putting "manager comp"- it was the same amount as the order "wow" what a discount for some she didnt even eat. Will not go back- Gringos and Donerakis is better than this place.

I had the fajitas as well as an apettizer. Let me start with I have eaten at almost every Mexican Restaurant in the Houston area and Don Carlos Fajitas are tender, juicy and full of flavor, not just spices on the surface. I rate them as THE BEST IN HOUSTON and I should know! They just rolled out "Senior Grande" a 5+ pound Burrito that is HUGE. If you eat it in 30 minutes by yourself, it is FREE! CLick on their web site and see this sucker. OMG! They are my choice for Houston!

If I could give it no stars I would. The food was flavorless and bland. The server we had was the absolute worst waitress I have ever had. EVERYONES order was messed up. Because of this the manager came out and got into an argument with one of the girls at our table. the only thing that saved the night was the woman manager. She came over, was professional and helped us the way it shouldve been done.

This was our first time eating here and it was pretty good. Service was friendly and informative. The wait time was minimal and the food was delicious. My wife and I ordered the fajita special. Man......talk about alot of food! Cant say enough about this place. The price was great, service good and the bill was fantastic! One of the few places in Hobby that has been good to us. We loved it.

Ive been here many times and enjoyed myself. But we went for Cinco de mayo . Hoping for a good time and it sucked. They werent that busy service at the bar was poor. Manager working bar couldnt seem to handle making drinks. Next time for Cinco de mayo Ill head elsewhere. Asked for check 3 times.
