Will never order from here again. Phoned in an order for carryout. I asked when I was given my bag if everything was in the bag, and was told yes it was ALL in the bag. Once at home I realized that not all of the items I paid for were in the bag. I called the store but no answer, they were closed. I called the next day and was given the run-around and lied to by the man that answered the phone. I was told he would have the manager call me by 1pm. I drove to the store and the person whom I spoke to on the phone lied to me again to say he was not the person I spoke to on the phone. He finally admitted that I did speak to him. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he was not there. I asked if he would please get him on the phone. I wanted a refund for the items that I did not receive with my order. I was told that he could not give me a refund because the order was from yesterday. I told him I was not leaving the store until I either received my refund or spoke to a manager/owner. I needed to speak to someone in charge. He said he was in charge but he was not authorized to refund customers. After 25 minutes of waiting. He refunded my money. It should not be that difficult to obtain a refund from a business that did not fulfill a customers order. Needless to say I will not be ordering from China Stix ever again.

Having made weekly trips to Chinatown my entire life, I was ecstatic to find China Stix so close to the medical center. When you walk in, youre greeted with a nicely lit restaurant with a modern interior design that is neither outdated nor gaudily Asian. Large stainless steel benches occupy the center of the restaurant, affording an unobstructed view of the food preparation from the many tables surrounding. While its competitors focus on over decorated interiors that attempt but ultimately fail to transport you to Eastern lands, this restaurant instead takes a more subdued approach and offers a more relaxed environment, resulting in a fresh, no-nonsense take on Chinese cuisine. Of the dozens of times Ive been to China Stix this year, Ive always found it impeccably clean and tremendously fast on service, but most importantly, its cheap. China stix always offers the lunch specials (Open-4) or the combination special (4-close), which includes the entree, fried rice, an egg roll, crab rangoon, and a choice of soup for an incredibly low price. However, the other offerings on the menu are just as worth it. The Moo Shu pork is just as succulent as ones available in Chinatown, and the House Special fried rice is absolutely to die for. China Stix is without a doubt the best asian restaurant in the area.

We wanted some Chinese food for lunch, but there is a lack of more authentic restaurants in the medical center versus being in the Bellaire area closer to the Beltway, so we decided to stop into China Stix. Ive never been to China Stix before, but I would compare it to what you would find in a mall food court and Panda Express. The food was decent, but I felt that there was a lack of flavor. I was glad that it wasnt overly salty, and I didnt feel like I needed a nap right after, so that is a plus. There is a good selection of food on the menu, and turn around time after you order is fairly quick. The staff was not as attentive as I felt they should have been because I stood at the counter for a few minutes before I was even acknowledged by the person taking the food orders. They were having a conversation with the people cooking and trying to sort some other things out, but it would have been nice for them to at least tell me theyd be with me in a second. The person bringing the food to our table, however, was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a decent amount of room, and because its located in a strip center, there is plenty of parking. The food is relatively inexpensive, but personally, Ill go elsewhere for similar food and price.

Terrible service on 07/16/16 at 8:40 PM. The female worker at the front counter was on the phone when I walked in. I called in my order. She never made any eye contact with me while she was on the phone. She stayed on the phone for at least 5 minutes, and never made any eye contact with me. I was mixing some different sauces together at the side counter, when a male worker called my name to tell me that my order was ready. I asked him if he could hold my order behind the counter for me. He did not answer me. He instead put my order on the counter right in front of a gentleman who was eating on the side of me. I told him that I didnt want him to put my food in that gentlemans way, and that is why I asked him to hold my order behind the counter for a minute, until I finished mixing some sauces together. Again, I got no response from him. Very poor service from both employees at China Stix. Disappointed!

We ordered carry out for delivery to our work at the medical center, our first time to try this restaurant. We ordered extra spicey on 2 entrees, but on the teriyaki chicken bowl I could barely taste any red chili peppers, and it was served on a to go plate, not in a bowl. So the orange chicken entree was served in a bowl and the orange peels were on the bottom of the bowl, so by looking at it in the bowl, we couldnt tell it was orange chicken unless we moved the food around and dug into the bottom. This one was also ordered extra spicey but you could barely taste any heat to it. The delivery driver did not have enough ones to break a 10 dollar bill so I was forced to give him a $5 Bill tip for a delivery order of 3 entrees that arrived 55 minutes after we placed the order. Very very disappointed in the presentation and taste of the food. We will not be ordering from this place again.

So I ordered the shrimp lo Mein because Im big on Asian food, just not Chinese food. Nothing else appitized me other than the idea of egg rolls. Everyone was nice, but my lo mein didnt look appealing to me at all. I didnt want to be rude and send it back so I forced myself to eat it. I ate almost the whole plate but an hour after being home I started to get pain in my stomach like I had a lot of gas. The discomfort spread in my upper back and after about an hour of complaining to my boyfriend, continuously visit the toilet just to get up, I finally was able to use the restroom after a lot of moaning, change in body temperature and discomfort. After the first take I was upset about the situation but my stomach still felt uneasy. Then it started to bubble and I rushed to the restroom where the moaning and whining and pain commenced. Then diahrreah.

This place has good Chinese but heir service is not so great. I have a couple of complaints. If you order take out they say its free but really, they have a lot of prerequisites: You have to order $15, it has to be within their mile radius, and the $15 have to be all within one order and not combined orders. Finally, you MUST leave a tip. The driver, which was the owner in that particular time, demanded the tip. Also, if you dont want soup, they will not make any substitutes. I must say, I have returned because their food is good but the service is awful.
