My son introduced us to this cajun style seafood a couple of years ago and we frequent it when in the area. Today we invited some friends of ours who were looking for some good seafood, eagerly I told them about this place that rocked the seafood. I showed up first and told the hostess that I needed a table for four, three others would shortly arrive. She lead me to a small table for four, kind of table that has a hole in the middle with a bucket for crab , shrimp or crawfish shell disposal. I asked for a bigger table because I knew that this table was not going to be big enough. She graciously told me to pick the table that I wanted. I advised her that the one that sits six would be perfect, suddenly a male waiter appears and tells me that that table is reserved for a party of 5 or more. The hostess was very embarrassed and kept apologizing. I sat at the smaller table only because I was waiting for the rest of my party to show otherwise I would have walked. My party showed up and we ordered drinks and food and noticed a couple walk in and the hostess offered them a small table and they refused and requested the bigger table for six, hostess takes off to ask permission. The husband told his wife to have a seat then shortly the hostess returned and advised them that they could sit there. Later he told us that he knew they would let him sit there because the male waiter was friends with his dad. The food was served and as expected our table filled up pretty fast. I ordered the fisherman platter (huge) everybody else had meals that required numerous plates also. Best I can figure is that the male waiter had that section and only wanted full tables to wait on, I could be wrong but he sure took alot of interest on who sat there. The food and service (not the male waiter) were outstanding as always, would have given a 5 star had I not been treated like my business was not wanted there. Management should advise staff about seating arrangements prior to customers showing up or advise the waiter to stick to waiting tables instead of trying to do the hostesss job. This is not an indictment of the whole business because the service and food have always been great. End of rant carry on.

I have no idea why Google has this placed tagged as "great beer selection". They have no taps. Like, no beer on tap at all. And the bottled selection they have is absolutely bare bones. No craft options. You lied to me, Google! THAT BEING SAID...I really like this place. Dont get me wrong, its never gonna get a Michelin star or anything, but its got super tasty food. I got the Snapper +3, which is the grilled snapper, plus 3 shrimp diablo (bacon wrapped shrimp with jalapeno). I subbed dirty rice for the shrimp fried rice thats supposed to come with every grilled entree, and its probably the best dirty rice Ive ever had. The snapper was cooked beautifully, and seasoned well. The service was fantastic. Daylin, our server was great. When I ordered my salad, I asked for oil and vinegar dressing. She started to say they didnt have it, but quickly told me "we can make that work!". I felt she went above and beyond. The prices were reasonable. I ordered 3 vodka sodas, my bf ordered 2 margaritas, and along with our 2 entrees, app, and the dozen raw oysters, our total was about 70usd. We will be back!

The best part about this restaurant is the staff. They are ultra friendly, and very honest about the best quality items in the kitchen that day. We came here on recommendations from friends that they had a good Cajun selection. Most of that selection is limited to the appetizer menu. The fried calamari was better than most, but the gator was a little lacking. The boudin balls were pretty good, and had a very nice kick to them. Fried jalapeños were also pretty good. The best app was the pistolet, which was a fried bread with a crawfish stuffing. The grilled selections of the menu were a tad over salted. The shrimp poboy was not the greatest, and the scallops had a strange flavor; they were done perfectly, but the marinade was the downfall. The steamed veggies were beautiful. This is a wonderful place for fried seafood of all kinds. Not much in the way of a healthier option as most of the menu is fried. The music selection here is strange and is selected most likely by iPod in the rear. We heard everything from System of a Down, to Aerosmith, to modern punk rock of sorts.

I purchased what I thought was catfish but was sold Swai fish (catfish imitation ). This cheap version of catfish (Swai) is now being sold as a substitute in most restaurant in the US..Please beware of what you are eating the restuarents will not tell you the truth. IT IS A CLEAR DIFFERENCE IN TASTE AND TEXTURE OF MEAT...I am a Southern girl and know what catfish should taste like..Catfish lovers beware of the imitation CATFISH SWAI...I called the restuarent and spoke with a woman who said she was the manager.I explained to her how I felt about the Swai catfish and why wasnt told about the difference. Her comments to me was she have not had any complaints about the fish....SO LET ME BE YOUR FIRST COMPLAINT...I WILL NOT EAT THERE AGAIN.I will definitely ask questions about the catfish sold at other restaurants and stores.

Been over a year since Id eaten here and figured Id try it out again. I love seafood and had previously been satisfied here. However, this was not the case this time. Service was sub par: Server bought out 2 of the 3 entrees we ordered, but apparently forgot to submit order for my brothers blackened catfish. Instead of taking responsibility, he said that it takes longer to blacken the fish than to fry it...yeah right, we arent that ignorant. We were finished with our food before he received his plate. Quality of food diminished as well. Alligator had weird fatty white substance in meat. Softshell crab wasnt fresh and had white colored liquid oozing out of it. After eating there, I had an upset stomach for the rest of the day. Disappointed and will not return

Weve been visiting Houston for two weeks. We popped in this place on our first night, and enjoyed it so much we decided to make it our last evenings stop. The menu variety is wonderful, and I thought the food quality and portions were excellent for the price - very fair. My fiance got the Crab Trio, which at $29.99 I thought was bargain-priced. I got the scallops tonight, which were a bit bland, but perfectly cooked. Last time, I had a "pick two" with fried shrimp and fried oysters, and found it delightful. Special mention to server Drew tonight who took on a bunch of the unexpected outdoor dining crowd. He did a great job hustling and keeping up good humor and service!

Excellent!!!! We could not asked for anything better! Dinner salad was beautiful..Lettuce pretty, green, and crispy with cherry tomatoes and croutons. Gumbo..True Louisiana style..Roux was perfect, perfect, perfect and hearty with mixture of shrimp, sausage and other meat. This is it..The best gumbo! 6-Fried Shrimp..plate, French fries, hush puppies and 3-conndiments. Shrimp were battered, but when you bite into the sweet fresh butterfly shrimp, you could see there was more shrimp than batter. This is the way it should be. Oh yeah..The restrooms, were nice and clean. Our Waiter Brandi - very attentive and checked on us several times. Thank you Brandi!!! We will be back!!
