At the insistence of my wife, I had dinner with her at Wildfire for the first time last night. She eats there often. I have to tell you that I experienced one of the worst, if not the worst, “gourmet” meal -- to dignify it by referring toi it as a dining experience would be an insult to both the words dining and experience -- I have ever had. At the suggestion of the waiter, I had the tuna, rare, “as close to sushi as possible”, “seared for a few seconds on each side”. What I got was a shoe sole thick (ie., thin, less than 1/2") piece of “chicken of the sea”. Frankly, the piece reminded me of the tuna sandwich I once got at Chilis, which I think they took off the menu because it was so unappealing. Worse than the piece of tuna -- again, to call it a fillet would be an insult to a real cut of meat, fish or fowl -- the waiter didn’t even notice that it was overcooked (understatement – it was beige/brown all the way thru, not even a hint of pink, like something you would serve at a nursing home) until I started to try and eat it. I struggled to get about a quarter of the way thru it, when he came by for the obligatory “how is the meal” and he noticed I had stopped eating and asked if everything was OK, before he even noticed that my “tuna”, if you could even call it that, was better attached to the bottom of a shoe than on a plate. (if you want to see picture of this "shoe leather", you can see them on my review of the same restaurant on TripAdvisor). Finally realizing there was a problem (understatement), he said “let me see what I can do to fix it”, setting an expectation that he was actually going to rectify the problem, then didn’t return again until he came back with the bill. Adding insult to injury, he asked again “how was the meal” and whether I would like a box for what I hadn’t finished (I did take it home to feed to the coyotes – this morning it was still in the greenbelt, so even they wouldn’t eat it). If theres one thing worse than serving bad food, its not even knowing that you are doing it Quite simply, a horrible, horrible experience. PS: I contacted the owner (Bill?) twice via the email on their website to express my disatisfaction with the meal, and he hadnt replied at the time of this posting. Definitely a restaurant that is living off of its reputation.

13th wedding anniversary. Arrived and seated at the bar. Good drink selection however bar service was slow. Had no beer on draft, when asked about the draft situation, waitress said they were in the middle of switching vendors and all the draft was pulled. Manager had a different story. 7pm seated at the table. Waitress was friendly. Ordered 10 oz fillet mignon extra rare with diablo shrimp and bacon scallops. Ordered 16oz bone in rib-eye extra rare with diablo shrimp and bacon scallops. So here is where it falls apart.. They had no 10oz fillet mignon, cook knew it but the waitress did not.. so we settled on the lamb rack. Then the bring out the food.. The 16oz bone in rib eye, well it was not rare, it was medium rare and punchy in the middle... Lamb was over cooked too... So lets break it down No Draft Beer.. Bar waitress said vendor switch / owner said cooler failure No 10oz Fillet Mignon instead they switched for over cook lamb rack Over cooked the 16oz bone in rib eye and it was the last one so there was no more of them All in all... For the $100 I spent, I learned that service was ok, food was average, cook (not a chef) was mediocre and over all experience was terrible.. Save the cash and get a burger.. At least at burger king you can can get what you order.

Not a good experience the evening of 07/12/14. We arrived early for our reservation and was seated promptly. We were almost immediately greeted by the wait staff for drink orders. When the drinks arrived, we ordered appetizers and the main course. Approximately 40 minutes later, the appetizers arrived. Numerous trips to the table by our waitress with the message.................."your order should be out shortly". for the appetizers and then the dinners. Meanwhile, several tables of which were filled after we were seated, had been served their dinners. After sitting at the table for approximately 70 minutes, I approached the Manager to ask when our dinner was to be served. We had tickets for the 7:30PM performance at the Palace Theatre, so about 7:10PM, having not yet been served our dinner, we got up and left as the dinner was being brought to our table. The whole experience was not acceptable. The noise level was even more unacceptable. We have dined here a couple of times now and each experience was fantastic. Good food and a wonderful ambience. Not sure we will give the place a try again as it seems to have lost its character all together.

JIt was just okay. As we walked in there was no hostess. We had to get a waitress to seat us, but she acted so confused it was weird. When we made our orders they were pretty much out of a lot of meats and drinks. Most of what my husband wanted they didnt serve anymore or had. So I got the filet mignon medium well which was okay. But I hate filets that are bacon wrapped and the menu did not mention it. It taste weird for me. The asparagus was good. The crab cake tasted like it was sitting out for a while (which was odd that the waitress said it was a hot plate when its actually wasnt...). Also, her hair landed on my filet.. My husband got the prime rib And it was very dry. The prime rib was his 4th pick because everything else they did not have. He said the veggies were good. Our food took a very long time 40 minutes at least. The restaurant was empty! My husbands drink was half full when he received it then once he got a second drink it was in a different glass..??? We also never received bread/butter. Everyone around us did. Overall our experience was okay. Seems like this place is going out of business.

Ive been meaning to try this restaurant for a long time. The menu is written exquisitely. I finally went for my birthday, but we were sorely disappointed. The service was slow, the plating couldve used some cleaning.. slop city, and the temperature of the meats was way off. Some ordered medium rare, it was either blue or it was overcooked. I had the lamb and it was unseasoned and underdone (cold in spots). Flavorwise, it had a hint of smoke and the demiglace was not enough to cover the lack of seasoning of the meat. I wish they wouldve used salt and pepper, that wouldve made a world of a difference. It was not worth $29. The staff never came to check on the quality after we were served. I really dont know if we wouldve complained either since it took that long to get our food in the first place. Hey! but not all was bad. They had awesome butter... and with the rolls, that made for a good appetizer.

I dont know the area well and wanted to take family out for lunch, randomly picked this place off a map of downtown Georgetown while we were walking. How many different ways can I say "impressed"? The Sunday brunch was *excellent*, my artichoke heart and red pepper frittata had farmers market fresh vegetables and nothing was greasy or salty or overly sweet. Everything, from the complimentary cranberry-orange scones and fresh fruit plate, to the pesto ciabatta, to the asparagus and mozzarella omelette had the perfect combination of flavors. Cheaper than what you could get at Dennys and MUCH better quality. Will be taking more out-of-town family there tonight!
