I have probably been the harshest critic for this store. All I can say is Alex promised me he was turning the store around and he delivered on his promise. We gave them another try tonight and it was excellent. The food arrived promptly and it was very hot and fresh. We will make this one of our regulars once again. Thanks for your patience with me Alex. We had a pretty bad experience a week ago where Cowboy Chicken forgot some items in our online order and one of our pieces of chicken turned out to just be skin. The manager Alex contacted me and was very concerned about our experience. After talking with him we decided to give them another try today. I will condense this down as much as I can. Employees were very nice and our food came out fast, and the sides we ordered were fantastic as normal. That is where it ends. All of our chicken was so dry that we couldnt even cut it with a knife (This is not an exaggeration). I took the chicken back up front to Alex the manager and showed him my chicken. His response was " I know, but I have some fresh chicken coming off the fire right now". My response to him was I didnt want anything else, and I left the chicken with him. To his defense he tried to make it right by giving me some fresh chicken, but at this point I am done with Cowboy Chicken. This is 7 tries we have given to get it right and they havent. My biggest concern was when the manager responded that he knew the chicken was dry. It seems that they were playing the odds to see if people wouldnt complain. There were at least two other people that complained while we there about the same thing. I appreciate Alex reaching out to me last week to make things right with their business. I think he took over a store that has some problems, and he has his work cut out for him. I wish you the best of luck, and hope you get everything turned around as you plan. For us we will not dine there anymore. I will let others make up their minds

Horrible customer service! Tried to call in an order today and was placed on hold for 5 minutes and got hung up on. Decided to leave work for lunch and just call in the order on the way there since I work in Terrell and by the time I got to forney it would be almost ready. was put on hold again by the time i was exiting the forney exit for cowboy chicken someone finally got back on the phone and my order was placed at 11:50am, was told my order would be ready in 10-15 minutes. Pulled through the drive through at 11:57am and did not get my food until 12:30-12:35pm. Waiting in the drive through line the whole time, and was only checked on once until a manager came to the window and asked if I had been helped. Was told that the reason why I had to wait so long for my food was because they were busy. This is not the first time I have had bad experience or customer service at this location. Such a shame because I love cowboy chicken its my absolute favorite, I guess for now on I will have to go to another location.

UPDATE: Alex the Manager at Cowboy chicken called me today and explained that he is working hard to improve the service at this location. He was very sincere. I was very happy to hear from Alex and we will give them one more try. I do like their food, it is the service that has been declining. No More For Us! We have given this location many chances and they have failed on all of them. We ordered our food for delivery tonight and they as usual forgot two items (Kids Sweet Tea and my Ranchero Beans). To really add fuel to the fire. I ordered the three piece dark meal, which comes with two thighs and a drumstick. What I got was one thigh, one thigh and the skin of a drumstick. Yes you read that correct. It was the skin only, no meat and no bones. I will say what we received tasted very good and was hot. I just suggest if you are going to eat at Cowboy Chicken, make sure you dine in and do not order delivery.

This is the most ridiculously inconsistent place Ive ever seen. Since its one of the few places with healthy options in Forney, Ive been to this location at least 20 times. Sometimes the staff is great and friendly, other times they act like theyre doing you a favor by even talking to you and are completely dumbfounded by a to-go order. Dont even try calling in an order, Ive done it twice and wont ever do it again. Last time, the girl didnt know you could do call in orders, and then the manager came on and really made me not want to even go. Also have gone in at 8, and was continually reminded they close at 9. Food is usually great, hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. But Ive had terrible sides multiple times so it can happen.

This was our first time visiting Cowboy chicken. We were wanting somewhere we hadnt been before and found cowboy chicken by an online search. I hate to admit it but we have driven by it thousands of times and never noticed it. I can honestly say its very deserving of the 5 stars I gave it. The food is far from bland as another reviewer had claimed. The food extremely good and not like every other chicken place around. The service was very good and they even let us taste the different sides they have so that we could make our choice. We will be going back to Cowboy chicken again. I enjoy spending my money at a place that appreciates our business unlike a lot out there that make you feel like you owe them your business.

I just want to start of by saying this is the best chicken I have ever tasted, the twice baked potatoes are to die for! I am a banker in mesquite and I drive to the forney location almost every week to enjoy some of yalls chicken. The service is fantastic every time I make a visit, Ive talked to a really nice young gentleman Kareem I believe was his name multiple times and he is the one that actually introduced me to the delivery option provided by them which I did not know of in the past. And he has delivered to my office quite a number of times. All I can say is Kareem and his team have earned my loyalty!

Got the chicken enchiladas and corn fritters, mac and cheese and peach cobbler as a side. I dont know what they were doing with that peach cobbler but it was more like peach mush. The entire thing and the consistency of pudding it wasnt at all what it looked like on the menu.the enchiladas were delicious though I will definitely give it to the restaurant for those. Loved the corn fritters as well, the macaroni and cheese tasted ok. However a few minutes after eating I felt a bit sick so Im unsure if that was the food or something else

I love buying here great staff great food, but its unfortunate that they always seem to forget one of the following,. your drink, peach cobbler, hot sauce, the roll, or better yet your order is wrong. And by the time we find out were pulling off the drive thr, or entering the highway. I wish there could be more responsible clerks and a better control on your orders to prevent this from happening all the time. I drive to this location from Mesquite, but sometimes I think its not worth the trouble or gas going there.
