First, I do think its great that this place exists to help fund Denton Freedom House. But I feel like my review has to disregard what they do with their money, and focus on the customer experience. When youre in a town like Denton, its impossible not to compare coffee shops to each other. That being said, Zera should be one of your last choices, right above Starbucks. Their coffee is nothing special. Its not super fresh tasting, isnt single-origin as far as I know, and they dont have any better brewing options such as pour over and French press. There are several great third-wave places in Denton, and it would simply be a mistake to choose Zera over them. One good thing is that this place has a large amount of space. Youll almost definitely have an open table. But the most frustrating thing, and keep in mind this is just my opinion, is that this place is all Christian people doing Christian things in a Christian place. Now, I myself am a Christian. But I dont agree with the idea of creating a place for just Christians. Which is largely what Zera ends up being in practice. When youre not encouraging/creating a diverse customer-base, and your actual product is very mediocre, I have to go with two stars.

Went in here with high hopes. Lots of space but thats about the only thing this place has to offer. Younger gentleman at the front desk (who seemed new) was kind and welcoming, whereas another gentleman whom I presume is in the management department was not very friendly; he simply called out "NEXT" and not even a hello how are you? or anything of that sorts. He looked at me strange for wanting me to put a syrup in my cappuccino, which, as me myself being a barista, know is not uncommon. A very small flavoured cappuccino came to 4.60, but was lacking tremendously in flavor. Shots were bitter and I just didnt want to waste the drink I payed for so I finished it. The welcoming gentleman I mentioned earlier kept persistently being berated by the presumed manager every time he took an order, "that costs extra. Make sure you charge them extra" for soy, syrups, etc. But was very unprofessional to raise their voice like that in front of customers. I wanted to come here to work on my computer but I think Ill just go home. Disappointed.

I love this place! I love how the staff remember repeat customers and may even start making your drink as soon as you walk through the door. I love the music (not overly loud) and I appreciate the song and comfy couches and furniture. If you like the furniture, the piece you are sitting on may even be for sale, as they refurbish and sell furniture. I like that this is a comforting place to come and work, rest, or meet up with friends. Since so many of my friends frequent Zera, I know that I can pop in and see someone I know. There is a back room that you can reserve for meetings, work functions, or baby showers. If you appreciate a place that treats its customers well and is a warm and inviting atmosphere, then try it out! They have delicious food for lunch and dinner as well.

I am speechless when it comes to this place. I literally watched a man come to know Christ while I was here working on homework. This is THE most amazing place Ive been to here in Denton. Very mellow, very welcoming, the drinks arent anything special, but the staff is top-notch. It does not get any better. Zeras is staffed by volunteers from the Denton Freedom House, and youd never know these people dont get paid to be there. It is clean, organized, and they always have family-friendly events going on. Dont go on Sunday, but on any other day of the week, it is oh, so worth it.

I came here for the first time today. I usually try to ask for a suggestion whenever I go to a new coffee place for the first time, as the baristas usually know whats best. They suggested an iced cinnamon, vanilla latte. I took the suggestion though I was a bit nervous since the last cinnamon coffee Id had (from a different place) had been very drastically not to my taste. This coffee was PERFECT. Rich enough to still be flavorful when nearly all the ice had melted, but not too sweet to enjoy when it first arrived, and so yummy!!! I will definitely be back! :D

Zeras is the most comfortable and largest coffee shop in Denton. I absolutely love going there, however, the coffee doesnt compare to other coffee shops in Denton. Its good, but not amazing. However, they do have clean restrooms, great wifi and plenty of seating and parking. They also have other things besides coffee, which are always good and the customer service has always been fantastic. Zeras is also run by volunteers and their business helps support the community here in Denton and so even with just "good" coffee, I still give them 5 stars.

This is a great place for anyone to come and hang out and or study. There is abundant space including small and large tables available for use. They do play Christian music quietly over the sound system, but that is to be expected since they are a Christian based company. If Christian music is not your thing, then earphones and an iPod would be a super simple solution for you. The coffee is great and so is the food and atmosphere and the service is super friendly. I love spending time here.

This place is SO Denton! All kinds of family friendly music, great coffee, and plenty of outlets for a long study session. Its a Christian owned coffee shop, which means that youll see plenty of ministry happening here, including Young Life and every brand of small group. If you ever need a place where everyone is warm and the coffee is always ready, this is the place for you.

Out of all the coffee places in Denton, their quality isnt the best. However, their pricing is reflective of this and therefore cheaper ($1-$2) than other places. They have amazing service and I recommend getting their perka app as they always give you extras. Also its one of the bigger coffee shops with lots of plugs so its great for studying alone or in groups.

If you dont mind religious music and the lack of UNT hipsters than youll love it here. The coffee is the best Ive had in town. Amazing staff. Clean. A LOT of room. Quiet for those who study. Dont go to the artsy places and pretend you like the ridiculously foreign-named drinks, the generic abstract art, and their pile of used books no one will read.

I have tried many coffee shops and this definitely tops as best coffee I have had. They also have an inviting environment to chill. What caught my attention most is that they are a nonprofit organization that support and rehabilitate men who struggle with sexual addictions and teach them about Christ! Definitely supporting them in their ministry.

Awful customer service. No lids for coffee to go? Maybe this was a one time thing, but I had hot coffee spilled in my car without a lid. Also, the guy who handed my drink put all 5 fingers around the top rim of the cup!!! What?!?!? Ended up dumping out after tasting what seemed to be some kind of odd tasting cheap version. Will not go back.

Got an iced coffee, which was pretty overpriced considering that it cost more than Starbucks and literally all they do is put the coffee and ice in a cup with no lid, and cream and sugar are self-serve. Definitely got a religious vibe from the place (they had a sign up indicating a prayer room?) which made me slightly uncomfortable.
