If I had my choice of bars in Deep Ellum I would choose Cold Beer Company any day because it is more in line with my style. But, that doesnt mean Sandbar Cantina and Grill is bad. Sandbar is definitely a laid back place with the focus being on the beach volleyball courts. Given that it has that beach bar feel I was expecting nothing but Bud Light and its ilk. However, I was pleasantly surprised that there were at least a couple craft beers. I went with 4 stars because I do appreciate that Sandbar is providing a unique feature (beach volleyball) that sets it apart. I am sure I would love it here if I lived nearby and wanted to join a beach volleyball league.

Great location but my first experience here I came for the salsa bachata paid ten dollars for and all they played was reggeton not worth my 10$ for a supposed night of salsa bachata. The free class they advertised never happened.And the weak drinks were a bit to expensive. Like 6.50 for a good drink take my money but not the case here. Overall disappointed hopefully next time will be better

Really cool bar in Deep Ellum. About the size of a football field, covered with sand and Vball courts. Im not a player but with $3.25 drafts and Olympic calabar athletes, this place is frickin awesome! Lots of great energy from the staff and regular clientell as well... I wish I found this place sooner!

Come here for the sand volleyball, stay for the food and drinks. Great selection of beers on tap, friendly bar tenders and servers, and a really chill environment. Catch the game on their TVs too! Just be aware that league games take place Sunday-Thursday evenings, itll be hard to find an open court then

Its ok high price beer and the Indian guy is rude asked him a question and he disrespected me qhen a slide comment then had to wait after he took care of every one around me .honestly the owner is cool some of the staff he chooses is rude .thats all I have to say .

If youre not in a volleyball club its hard to get a court during decent hours. I think theyre expanding if so then leave some courts open. I know you have steady club customers but I dont want to keep signing up for club just to play here.

It was our first time here and we had a blast! Everyone was very friendly, played lots of volleyball, made some friends, and my wife enjoyed the music. Great place to come for some fun in the sand, this will become a weekly spot for us!

Very friendly staff and nice laid-back vibe. It has a unique setting as it is a beach in downtown Dallas, whose skyline serves as a great backdrop. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a beach scene or a volleyball game!

Love this place. The sand courts are in great shape and you can go play for hours. It gets crowded whenever they have leagues taking up half the courts, but you learn when the more open times are. And they have water fountains!

Best sand volleyball courts in Dallas. You can always find a great pickup game, and leagues run year round and include other sports like flag football! Staff are extremely helpful, and nothing beats the heat like a cold drink!

Great place for a different type of bar scene. Food is much better than you might expect, and the bartends do a good job of getting to your order even when the line is long. It also has great sand volleyball courts.

The sand volleyball courts are definitely the only reason I would recommend this place. The drinks were made by a guy who had probably never tasted booze, and I got charged $2 for ice...Ill leave it at that.
