I had high hopes for Pier 247 based off of the reviews but left incredibly disappointed. We went in on a Thursday night around 7pm and there was a light crowd. We stood at the host station literally for 2 minutes before we were addressed by a passing waitress that told us "Ashley" would be with us soon. We waited another 2 minutes before a host came from the kitchen to seat us, as she was chewing a mouth full of food; this is not only unsanitary but completely unprofessional. We honestly shouldve left because things only got worse. Strike 1 After being seated with only drink menus, I noticed a guy at a table beside me had his stop watch going. It had ticked up to 5 minutes and 30 seconds. My boyfriend and I started looking through the only menus we were given and noticed that there was a team meeting of sorts going on beside our table but no one greeted us and said they would be with us shortly. Strike 2. We waited for the rather impromptu team meeting to be complete and expected to be greeted, presented with eating utensils, a dinner menu, water...something! Nothing. I looked over at our neighbors stop watch...it had ticked up to 12 minutes. At this point, I asked the hostess if she could find our waitress, she replied that she was in the back in a very curt tone. I asked if she could get her as well as provide us with dinner menus as, umm its 7pm on a Thursday night, were hungry! A table of teenage boys came in around this time and sat beside us...they were obviously of some relation to our waitress because they had drinks and crawfish on their table before we were ever greeted. After about 10 minutes of sitting, we were finally addressed. Thank heavens! We ordered several drinks from the bar, hurricanes, life preservers, gator somethings or another that were actually decent. Or maybe I was just thirsty after waiting so long for service! We got an app of firecracker shrimp which was mediocre (Shell Shacks buffalo shrimp is MUCH better). My boyfriend got the catfish/shrimp mac and cheese contraption, which he enjoyed and was hearty so he couldnt finish. I got the jambalaya. If youre a true jambalaya fan and youve had the NOLA authentic....Please dont order this. It was incredibly tomato-y to the point where it was overpowering and it wasnt spicy or flavorful. I was tempted to sneak into the kitchen and get the "slap yo mama" seasoning to help things out. While waiting for our waitress to come back (after she had provided food, drinks, free crawfish, checks and laughs to the table of boys beside us) stop watch guy, yes the gentleman seat at the table on the other side of us, asked me for a napkin from our table as they were not provided with any...and they were eating crawfish, which we all know can get a little messy. Yes, a customer asked another customer for something a waitress shouldve provided. Strike 3. Though the food was decent, we wont be spending our time and money here again. The Bishop Arts area is known for restaurants with a homey feel and weve gotten amazing services at busier establishments in the area. We will stick to those restaurants in the future. Glad we tried it out but we wont be returning.

I decided to go to Pier 247 to celebrate my birthday on Saturday, July 23, 2016. I got there a littler earlier at approximately 7:30 pm so I could get a table and enjoy the DJ music. As we walked in there we didnt see a host so we thought we could sit anywhere. We had to even ask for a server because no one was coming to our table! We were asked how large the party was going to be and I said 4. So they explained they had the table reserved so we moved to a smaller table next to it without thinking anything of it. Right when we ordered our dinner at around 8:30 pm we were asked if we could to move for the 2nd time to the outside patio because they had another party getting there. I explained how we got there early because we wanted to sit close to the DJ. The Manager was extremely rude and didnt try to accommodate me or my guests. She exaggerated and said, "Youve been here since 5o clock, just get your tab and go!" The DJ guy was very nice and apologized for her being rude and she even snapped at him. This is totally unacceptable behavior especially being the Manager! Instead of being a leader and worrying about customer service she made us feel like our business wasnt good enough, and therefore we will not be returning to Pier 247!

My friend and I went on a Saturday night after shopping and it was disappointed. First the wait staff seemed unsure what was available. Second once we were seated the waitress wasnt helpful and seemed to rush us. Out water was in a glass but when we ordered our drinks they arrived in plastic cups.....which shorted us in our beverage. We were the only ones with plastic cups. Then when we ordered our food Dozen Gulf Oysters on the Half Shell, alligator topped w/poblano sauce w/creamed spinach & smashed potatoes, shrimp scampi with a lemon butter white wine sauce and fried calamari w/jalapeno cheddar cheese hush puppies-creole ranch & spicy tomato sauce. We received plastic utensils and the food was a disappointment! The fried calamari barely fried, jalapeno cheddar cheese hush puppies missing the jalapenos and cheese just plain just puppies! The rest of the meal bland no flavor or too much lemon. We will not be returning after this experience.

This was my 1st time eating here and I definitely would not go back. I ordered the shrimp bacon mac and cheese recommended by the server and it was BLAND! I put salt on it 4 times before I tasted anything and it still didnt help. It is a little pricey as well for the flavorless food its just not worth it. It was also extremely hot inside they did have fans but it didnt help I was actually sweating halfway through dinner. The servers all looked like they hated working there and seemed bothered serving people and then one server opened the doors because it was hot and in a split second flies were all over everyone and the food.

What a bunch of cry babies! I went for someones birthday earlier and me and my husband have been back twice since. We have decided this is our spot. There is some sandwich with fried crabcake and shrimp and is to die for. We always have great servers and the ambiance of the location specially weekend nights is impeccable! Well be there this weekend. I think you all should give it another shot. No complaints here. and NO I do not work here nor know the owners etc... just my honest content!

I went on a Friday night with my friend and was told this place had great music. While the choice of music was exemplary, the bar service was subpar at best. I was charged a gratuity that the bartender indicated I put on there. NOT TRUE!!! I asked why my drink was more than the person who ordered the exact same drink, and never got a straight answer. If this is the way this business operates, I will not be coming back here!!!

Went with four entrepreneurs and investors, worst customer service ever! !! Bartender took forever to serve us, poured drinks out on one customer. Ignored us had to ask for service several times while she was eating out of a customers plate. Valuable lesson learned I will get rid of any unprofessional staff members, people put blood sweat and tears into their business to let bad staff ruin a good place
