I dont know how people eat at these kinds of places. Im not an authority on authentic Mexican food, but honestly, this barely even qualified as food. I went for lunch today with some colleagues for one of their birthdays. I had the lunch fajitas, which were described as freshly grilled onions, peppers, and chicken. What I got was maybe five slices of clearly precooked and reheated chicken, and a bunch of slivers of grilled onion. There might have been one lonely slice of green pepper. The plate was warm, but not sizzling hot like fajitas are usually served. The re-fried beans were clearly out of a can and microwaved/flash heated in an oven. The guacamole was really the only passable part of the "meal". The free chips and salsa were actually ok. Its really sad when the best part of the meal is the free part. To top things off, three of the other five people at my table received cold food. Ive been to a couple other El Fenix locations over the last couple years (always for work events), and the quality has been similar. Again, I dont know why people eat this stuff. Seriously, people. Just go to Torchys. It might not be "authentic", but at least it tastes good.

Dont bother calling in an order. Was told it would be ready at 7:05, was running late and got there at 7:20 for them to tell me itll be a "few" minutes. Found out it hadnt even been started yet along with 3 other call in orders. But of course they didnt tell me that. When I asked about it their response was "I dont know whats going on with it" and when I asked if they had even started it yet the response was "I hope so." Lol never even checked on it. Called the manager up, that took another 20 minutes and we he heard, he acted like there was no problem. Never got an apology for waiting 45 minutes for a call ahead order. Not going here again. Horrible customer service.

Just left from this place. FYI Im pregnant. Once I was seated it took my waitress forever in a day to come and take my order. When she finally came to my table I ordered steak and enchilada well done. I waited 2 whole hours to get my order just to have a waitress bring it back to me raw. It took her 30 minutes to check on my table and when she finally did I told her about my steak. When she brought it back it was still raw.Not once but twice. The managers were unapologetic about the situation and i still ended up having to pay. For my first time going to el fenix i wont be returning. Gonna call corporate!

Reliable TexMex eatery with good salsa and chips. Of all the El Fenix restaurants I have been to, this one seems least successful. But that may have more to do with the shopping center than the restaurant itself. Food is good, service is excellent usually, prices quite reasonable. The family and name are somewhat of a Dallas landmark, for good reason.

From Oklahoma here, so literally just saw it and went in. The place itself is lovely along with the staff. Food options were more varied than most Oklahoman Mexican restaurants. Overall, great experience and food was really good. Im am however very accustomed to complimentary queso and tortillas but they did not offer that here.

We eat here a lot and its usually okay. But man, our waiter today was a flipping moron. He DISAPPEARED for 20 minutes, and another waiter took pity and refreshed our chips. He would only address my husband, and asked if I wanted Diet Coke (I may be a big girl, but RUDE!)... AND HE OVERCHARGED US! I was SO ready to leave....

Ever since the Martinez family sold the franchise the food has changed. The nachos are chewy, the enchiladas ( a Wednesday tradition) are tough to cut through. Its not the same. Im 45 and have been coming to El Finex since I was 6, back when it was a cafeteria. I think its time to say goodbye to this place.

I really like this place. Chips and salsa are great, food is good. In fact, I find myself craving the chips and salsa. Prices are low and menu selections are good. Its not high-end, gourmet food, but it IS good tex-mex. Go in with reasonable expectations and youll like it just fine.

I just think its changed from what it used to be, cheaper labor Cutting cost on product. Quality cuts, not the same as days gone by. FYI in the long run it will come around and haunt you and this place will end up a vacant building. Mark my words EF

normally great food and service here, but today everything was off. Food was almost like room temperature, service not good at all. Air conditioner not working very well at all if at all. Really a major disappointment
