Today we went to La Unica after trying to go to Marianas Taco Shop (our first choice), which is like .5 miles away. Mariana’s didn’t have enough employees show up so she had to shut down early. She was super apologetic. I bring this up because we went to La Unica right after that and had the EXACT same problem but a COMPLETELY different experience. We first made sure that there wasn’t a ton of people in the restaurant. There were only about 10 other people so we sat down. We waited a full 5 minutes with the lady walking by us several times before we got up and asked if we had to come to the awkward, weird window to order or if she took our order. She had the rudest tone and her response was “I didn’t see you come in. Where are you?” I pointed to our table and she walked into the kitchen. I first thought it was a language barrier but she spoke PERFECT English. We waited a few more minutes and she finally came to our table. My friends placed their order and then I tried to order “Huevos Con Chorizo” because there was nothing on the menu saying that they stopped serving food at a certain time. She immediately gave me a face and started shaking her head and just said “Nope”. I asked why not and she said “I’m not going to make breakfast. There’s too many people in the restaurant. You want tamales?” I love tamales so I said sure. We waited about 10 minutes and realized that we should go ahead and pay for our meals so when they came out, we could just eat and leave. I went back up to the weird, awkward window where she was and said politely “Hey, can we go ahead and pay for our food now so when we get our food we can eat and go?” Her response was one of the rudest I have ever received, along with a huge sigh. She said “I’m way too busy to do this. You need to just pay as 1 group to make this faster.” My response was “We haven’t even gotten our food yet so don’t we have time to pay separately right now?” Again, rude tone “Fine. Which food did you order?” At this point, I was flabbergasted and shook my head and said “Geez, louise.” Her response to hearing me was “I’m very busy and can’t do things like this right now so that is why I’m saying that” to which my response was “I’m still the customer, right?” She just shook her head and grabbed my card from my hand. Then she said “Well, your food is going to take forever so if you’re in a hurry then you’re not getting your food anytime soon.” This was the best thing she could’ve said because it gave us a reason to leave. I snatched my card back from her and told her we would never be back. Keep in mind; apologies go a long way- as we never heard an apology from this woman for any of her extremely rude behavior. Thank you for giving us a reason to ALWAYS go to Mariana’s Taco Shop because she was extremely busy YET was able to be courteous AND apologetic. People get busy but it doesn’t mean you have to be rude.

This is the real deal in the sense that its a house, still looks like a house, converted to a small restaurant. 100 percent mom n pop. Not a fancy thing about it. You cant get more old school than this. The menu is limited but everything is just as a little Mexican grandma would make...I would encourage you to try this. Lunch for two, two sodas less than $20

I sat down and waited for 30 minutes and never once did the waiter speak to me. I also watched as she sat and took the orders of other customers who came in after me. She would make eye contact with me and never come to take my order. But she gladly served and conversed with her regulars. Dont waste your time here.

Very rude waitress food took a very long time. The food was very greasy and burnt. This place will never get bigger then what it is now and will eventually have tonight down or be sold cause of the current way it is run. Your better off going to taco bell cause thats what it felt like going here. Will not go back.

This is a cute place hidden away in old town Frisco. Clearly, it is understated because it looks like just another house in the neighborhood. However, the food is wonderful! You can tell it is home cooked and fresh. This is an original Mexican delight! Any dish on the menu is certain to please.

The service was not good and the food even worse. I was hoping to have a better experience but no. We had the caldo de res and the there was no flavor. We were given no chips or salsa and they brought us corn instead of flower tortillas like we asked for. I will not return!

Took 45 from the time we went in to get our food. Only 1 lady server that got my order wrong and was rude about it. I didnt argue because she is older and I respect my elders but I will never be back. Food was like a 5 out of 10.

The Caldo De Res and Chicken Soup are amazing and authentic. Reminds me of my grandmothers back in El Paso. Very down home feel here. The food is so delicious that I indulge weekly.
