Where do I begin. I consider myself El Fenix royalty. Ive been coming here over 40 years. Its the only place I go to for my bday, however, yesterdays visit was an EPIC fail. Our waiter took our order, brought our food out, but didnt bother familiarizing himself with the dishes, as he put everything in front of my friend and said he was kind of new and he didnt know which dish belonged to whom. He never offered to refill our beverages until we asked him to. He consistently called us "guys", which we DEFINITELY are not. He never asked if we needed anything or how anything was. Our food was hot, but laden in grease and tasted as if it were held over from the earlier lunch crowd. This waiter, who did not have a name tag on, was picking up my dirty dish, and placed another dirty dish with food on it from another table on top of mine right in front of me! I was LIVID and flagged down a manager, who also did not have a name tag on. He apologized, which I appreciated, and offered us margaritas at a compted price. That did not happen either. Full price for everything and darn sure not worth it at this visit. Maybe I should start going back to the Grapevine location. Very disappointed!

Ive been to better locations than this. We decided to come her for my mothers birthday. For one, I think the young girl that was our waiter mightve been a little green because she was totally oblivious to our hints about the service she provided. One of my cousins ordered nothing but soup and it was cold. They had a special going on for the fajitas and two of my other cousins were going to share the meal, and the portion of food that came out was very inadequate and cold as well. The drinks werent that great and not worth the money either. I was a bit disappointed at the service and the fact that everyone that came out were very insensitive to our needs and to ensure it was a great birthday dinner. We couldnt wait to pay our tab and go. I wont be back to that location anymore. Especially when theres plenty of Tex-Mex options on just about every corner, not to mention that Glorias is just down the street on Davis.

A friend and I visited the El Fenix on Colorado. This was our very first time at this location. Prior to ordering food, I went into the restroom. It was clean but there was a disgusting stench that may have been related to sewage problems. Our waitress was nice and professional. We both ordered combination platters, and when I bit into my taco and began to chew, I pulled a large piece of plastic out of my mouth. I motioned the waitress and showed her what I had found. She was sympathetic and went to get the manager. It took the manager about fifteen to twenty minutes to come to our table. Needless to say, I was turned off and lost my appetite. When the manager finally came, he offered a replacement meal, but I declined. It certainly could have been worse. Not a good experience.

I have always had good experiences at El Finix, but this time was not. There were flies hanging around the table. I ordered my food which were nachos with a side of sour cream, corn tortillas with but.I never received any silverware or napkins. The waitress never stopped by to ask if I needed anything. The next time I saw her I was finished eating. I usually always tip but this time I did not. They need too work on customer service other than that the food and drinks were good. One of the host had a really cute ring on that flashed almost like a flashing disco ball.

Service is good. But everything on the table ive gotten.... i hate to say it but sucks. Salsa is tomato paste... ive been all over the states and never tasted one this bad. The cheese is powdery- no flavor... doesnt taste like cheese. My mojito i ordered is not made right, has about no liquor in it, not enough lime juice, too much club soda, and no mint leaves. -_- . Fajita meat was okay... they put melted american cheese on it which ive never seen before. This place isnt mexican food... Alaysia was my server though, very nice, calm, professional and attentive.

Usually EL Fenix is good, however, not today. This location was very disappointing. The parking lot was empty with maybe 5 cars on Saturday at 12:45, which should of been a red flag already...my family was seated and we waited for 15 minutes and nobody addressed us at all. Nobody brought chips or even water. I was in the service industry for a long time and I know that is unacceptable. If we go to El Fenix in the future, I will only go to the downtown location.

I had my Sons baptism here and I would recommend it to anyone. They really made my day easy and memorable. I didnt have to worry about anything. They even helped me with putting up a few decorations and when I walked into out tables I hugged the manager and almost cried. Food was great we has over 30 people and I just cant say enough how wonderful they were. Thank you El Fenix!

The food was good. Our service was horrible! Maybe the waiter was new, maybe he was tired; I dont know. The hostest gave us cree deserts because of our wait, but when we got them to go, I opened them to be sure they were correct. It was OBVIOUS one had been dropped.... Once that was replaced, I paid--NO TIP!!!! We wont be back!

Once again I come here and the food was absolutely horrible, my waiter mixed my order with someone elses order, and it took about 20-25 minutes for my food to get to my table, there was also a hair in my food but I didnt say anything, I do NOT want anyone to have the same experience as me, so dont go to this restaurant!

Very solid Tex-Mex at super reasonable prices. I feel like I have had this exact meal at countless restaurants across the country. In other words this restaurant is super dialed into what we consider quality Mexican. Thats not a dig...its solid food, but not a culinary adventure. My kids love eating here.

HECTOR IS WONDERFUL!!! He is a very caring and genuine Manager. I saw him walking the floor to see if the customers were satisfied and any problems that occurred HE FIXED IT RIGHT AWAY!!! Nothing was too small! I appreciate his care and concern. This so needed in todays society.

Great service. Food was average, but good enough to go back and try other menu items. Biggest complaint was the chili on my enchaladas. It looked and tasted like wolf brand. So disappointing. Im already sick of wolf brand. I dont want it on my Mexican restaurant dinner plate.

Love this spot! Get the best of both worlds. You can get Mexican, Indian or both! Their breakfast burritos are some of the best in TX ! Definitely try their Mexi-Indi fusion. CTM burritos or tacos. And DO NOT forget their house made salsas! Youre welcome.
