A few things. Our party had a little 5 year old. The mom was informed she would be charged $7.00 for the child to sit in the seat at the grill, even though the mom would share a few bites with her off of mommys plate. The child was not hungry like the adults were. The most inexpensive order off of the kids menu was $12.00! I had a word with management and they didnt want to remove the $7.00 charge but finally did after I threatened to walk out even after we have already placed our order. I ordered the steak and shrimp with a $4.oo upcharge for jumbo shrimp. I never received any jumbo shrimp but was charged for it. When I mentioned it to the waiter, he left to speak with "the cook" and returned to say that I was served shrimp that was larger than the others at the table. But I still had a couple of shrimp that were on my plate, so I showed them to him explaining that these are not jumbo shrimp. Too bad, the charge stands. I paid the entire bill in cash. Okay, I have a lot of patience and mercy with restaurants to the point that I usually make my wife fierce because I wont say anything when something is wrong. But when you try to steal from me right in front of my eyes and insult my intelligence, thats another story! There were 3 families represented in our party. Everyone has vowed never to go back and our word of mouth in the days ahead will be plenty, Im sure! The $7.00 charge is only $7.00 but its the principle of the thing that you openly choose to gouge me over a child. The $4.00 upcharge is only $4.00 that they openly stolen from me in misrepresenting what I would receive for additional money, thats called theft and then they wanted me to believe it was larger that the other shrimp served at that table in which it clearly was not! It was all cooked right before our eyes and it certainly was NOT Jumbo Shrimp that they misrepresented! The food was not that good. The grilled veggies looked like a blob of oily leftovers. We have enjoyed much better food and flavors at other Japanese Steak Houses. It was a horrible experience at a time when they were not in a rush hour They were well staffed, so none of that can be used as a excuse. I would not recommend these guys to anyone unless of course you want to incur being stolen from, nickel and dimed price gouging, and then to top it off is to have your intelligence insulted.

Recently a few friends and I dined in the Hibachi side of this restaurant. It was late Friday evening and the restaurant (the Hibachi side) was at ~85-90% capacity. I saw at least two servers handling the Hibachi area. This was my first trip to this restaurant. The chef was competent, the food quality and price was reasonable. The service was poor. Napkins and silverware were provided for only one person on our side of the table (1 out of 8 seats). Our server rarely came by during our dinner and at least twice someone from our table area had to find them and request something. A couple seated at our table ordered two sushi rolls (as an appetizer) when they sat down at the table. Their sushi rolls were not delivered until *after* they had finished their dinner (some 30+ minutes later). I do not know if they were compensated for the late delivery. Another couple at our table mentioned they had eaten there before and had a similar experience--their sushi roll(s) were not delivered until after they had finished their dinner. I normally tip 20% of my bill. If I had sufficient change on me at the time I would have tipped 15%. I did not wish to punish the chef along with the server. I complained to the server. I did not complain to the manager/hostess. I will not return to this establishment. I do not know if my experience is representative of their typical dining experience. Previously, I had a great dinner at Kobe Steakhouse. I will go back there next time Im in the mood for hibachi-style dining.

We came here, because of all the awesome reviews, they are well deserved. Our waitress was Rochelle; and she was absolutely wonderful, knowledgeable and funny. Our Hibachi Chef was Juan, and he gave his entire show even though we were only 2 on an 8 seat table. He prepared a delicious meal. The portions are plentiful. This is "that" place, the one you almost dont want to have to share. :) You will not be disappointed. We wish Aká Sushi & Habachi many, many more years of success and abundance along with Ms. Rochelle & Chef Juan. Sincerely Mr. & Mrs. Walker 10th anniversary - Amarillo, Texas

Ive been a customer of theirs for about 6 years. Their food is usually sinsational and service is great. However I went in tonight 2/29/16 on hibachi side and the rice was well over cooked and hard the chicken teriyaki and noodles where dry and flavorless. I told a manager and he said mr. Kim tried my plate and had no complaints. And never returned me my plate or took it off the check. When I asked he said there was noting he refused to speak to his customer. I will make sure to bad mouth the restaurant to everyone I know about the disgusting experience Ive had not the past splendid times.

The service was terrible. Tortoise-slow. We waited for about an hour and a half for service and were left in a back room and neglected. We werent even offered drinks until about half an hour. The hibachi was mediocre and half-hearted and the food lacked character... and salt. Nothing quite Japanese about the whole charade other than the faded decor of the run-down restaurant. Our sushi that we ordered, The Fire Dragon, which was quite pricy, was supposed to be flambeéd and wasnt even on fire. It instead was lukewarm. Terrible place. Will NEVER return.

Lets skip the salty as# reviews because individuals are "in their feelings". This is Hands Down one of my Favorite Places to go in Corpus Christi. It is an Asian fusion restaurant. The food is Always fresh & great! Yes its a tiny bit pricy, but if you cant appreciate the food quality you should go back to whatever Buffet you frequent. I have never had a problem from the staff to the chefs all are genuinely very kind. Keep up the great work! Theres a reason this place still is and will always be around!

Sushi was great! We had to wait almost an hour after being seated before one of us were served what was ordered & even then, one person in our group was finished before others were served. The price was acceptable but we were charged a ridiculous tip by our server. I almost always tip generously but on this occasion, a lesser tip would have been appropriate. Since the food was great, I would go back, but I would ask for quicker service and a different server.

They have been bought out. New management. Told it would be a 45 minute wait. We waited 1 hr and 50 minutes. Management said they would discount our meals. There were three of us, they took off $8. The food was so-so. They used too much butter so it gave the food a weird taste. They also mixed the meat, veggies and noodles together while cooking them. The noodles were regular pasta noodles, not the usual. The one by Olive Garden and the mall is better.
