Very welcoming and friendly staff that makes you want to stay but food that makes you want to skip on the bill. So lets get to the review. The bread was my favorite part, it felt fresh and the butter was thoughtfully mixed with herbs to give it a pleasing taste. Veggie Lasagna no one could tell us what was in it before ordering. The sauce was very much generic store alfredo in taste. The veggies were sliced and carried no taste or texture, so it might as well could have been a simple pasta lasagna. The next plate was Chicken Breast with Cuban rice and beans. And heres how they lost me. I know Cuban very well and being from the Caribbean. That plate was so confusing and bland to say the least. The only thing Cuban were the ingredients used. The chicken was dry and covered on some sort of red dry rub. I have no clue what the red rub was because it had absolutely zero taste. The rice and beans were insulting to culture and taste. It also came with fried plantains that the waitress admitted to have been pre made and ordered in bulk. And to complete with confusion, it had a ring of veggies, (mostly tomatoes) all around the food. This ring of I dont know what, would have clashed had the rice, beans and chicked had any cuban taste all. Also I was warned the it would be spicy, which it would have been welcomed since this plate had zero seasonings and zero spice. I have no clue what the goal was for this plate, it was confusing, bland and insulting to a culture. This is a personal review and would have to go back a few more times to give it a more thorough critique. Positives about this place, it is BYOB.

Had an amazing lunch here with my sisters before going to the antique shops right behind it. Everyone was extremely nice and the food was delicious. Im really sad we only found it so late in our vacation because it was so good and I really wish we could have visited again.

One of our happy finds when visiting Corpus! The macaroons and baked cookies are phenomenal! What a lovely family owned small spot to dine in for dinner (thur-sun) or take home gourmet dinners!! Sophie is such a delight. If youre in Corpus, you must stop here!!!
