Im sure under other circumstances it would have been a great experience dining at this restaurant but not this time. I arrived at 12.15pm on a Saturday during my lunch hour. I first asked the lady that if I ordered ToGo it would take longer than 30 minutes she said no, and assured that my food would be ready in less time. I placed my order at 12.20pm Then suddenly a lot of people starting coming in as they had a lunch party programmed at 1pm, I would have been okay if the lady at the front was honest with me and said there was a long waiting time, I would then be okay with waiting or go somewhere else but she lied to me. it was already 1.10pm I asked someone to get the manager and he never showed up to talk to me. Then I had to ask another server to give me my money back since the lady that took my order went to hide in the kitchen and my lunch time was over and I had to go back to work. He said that he was going to go get the cashier but instead he came back out with my food at 1.15pm. In conclusion I waited 55 minutes to get my food, not even the people that was dining in waited that long. I was never rude to them but I feel like they were to me as they avoided me every single minute I was standing there waiting.

At first glance this place looks like a typical mom and pop restaurant with sub par menu items. But dont let the appearance fool you. Our dinner party started with jugos and empanadas. Jugo de lulu, mango y guanabana. Wow! Refreshing and delish. The empanadas were delicious morsels Beth much worth the 2.99 for each. Next came the platters called bandejas and picadas. These plates are awesome to order if you are in a group. Even the individual bandeja is enough for two. Wet went on a Saturday night and Saturday night the have live music. The group is a trio that sings cumbia, salsa, merengue and other latin beats. They add their own flare to it and voila, you have a cool little group that brings non-stop solid entertainment. I will continue to come. You can bring the kids and grandma and grandpa. Entire families stay and dance. Its a great atmosphere. I had a wonderful time. As far as price goes, we were a party of 4 and our tab was $47. We did not drink alcoholic drinks.

Let me start by saying that whether or not you like a restaurant can be like playing game of darts while blindfolded. In that respect, Casa Vieja has a larger dartboard for me and a larger bullseye. The empanadas are crazy good and the Bandeja Paisa (all you beginners, start with this one!) is my favorite restaurant dish in the Metroplex. A couple of other real treats are the sancocho on the weekends and the Plato Caribeno that my wife orders every single time we go there. Ive taken many friends there including vegetarians and most of them say they hate me for having not taken them sooner. The one drawback may be that the restaurant is more of a throwback to older days and the service is a bit slower than at other places. Some people might say they like that better and its more authentic. They may be right (heck, McDonalds can get you a burger in 30 seconds), but to me, its all about the food and Im more than OK with what they have.

Food is good but the servers have an attitude that has to go lol they arent your typical American restaurant where they apologize if you dont like something. You order it you pay for it. They are not in it for customer service just keeping it real. Been going for the past three years food is great. Saturday nights with live music you must consume $20 or $25 at least per person at table either on food or drinks otherwise they will make you pay wether you eat or not so just a heads up everyone. They overpriced but eh if u wanna eat you pay for it they got stingy over a few stuff but I still go I love the empanadas and biste a caballo. Aunque la actitud de los meseros y el viejo en la entrada que cobra esta más pésimo que da ganas de mandarlo a. La mierda. Hahahahah sin que me quede nada por dentro.

This place is great the food and service are awsome. Yes it might be a little pricey but worth all my money (and no Im not rich). The empanadas are very small and 2.99 each but they taste soooo good. Our server was awsome and very aducated. I had the caribbean plate with chuleta (pork chop) and my husband El plato paisa and that was awsome too. We are puertorican so if you are caribbean and like loud music and a good enviroment to eat and get some drinks I recommend it. I went Friday night. This food is almost exactly like authetic puertorican food. Theres like 3 puertorican restaurants that I know of one in Irving, Bedford and Arlington and I prefer this Colombian restaurant before the puertorican ones and their food is way better I love it. Dont let the bad reviews fool you go and try it yourself.

Ive never experience traditional Colombian food before and Casa Vieja hit the spot. The menu was quite extensive with so many appealing options. For an appetizer we order two empanadas. I agree with some of my fellow reviewers that these are a bit overpriced for what you get, but they were flavorful and delicious. We knew going in that we wanted to try them regardless of the platter of French fries with a thin steak, two eggs, and creole sauce on top. I thought the steak was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. My eggs were also cooked correctly and the french fries were crunchy. Our meals also came with rice, beans, and a fried plantain. Delicious! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had excellent service!

Everytime i go to this location, the service is horrible and really ruins the experience. Today i went with my wife, waited 10 min for a waitress to take our drink order which then came out with the wrong drinks. We had ordered extra Ají which came out almost 40 min later when we got our food (Also food always take a long time). We got serve by at least 5 different waiters which was very annoying. Where is the management at this place??? I felt like i was the waiter asking for them to make it right. I know this is a family owned business and very proud of having my Colombian roots represented here in Dallas but this place could be doing A LOT BETTER starting by the customer service experience.
