Old West Burgers has all the potential to be an awesome spot, especially as it tries to mimic Bigz down the road. Nevertheless, when the burger is not properly prepared and all your sides are frozen, youre going to have a pretty tough road ahead of you. The wife got a burger with bacon, and for the first time in my long history of seeking the best burgers, I met a restaurant that ran out of bacon. Very... odd. Anyways, I ordered my usual "Classic" burger (just mayo, lettuce, and cheese; my consistent benchmark for comparing burgers). The meat was charred to oblivion. It was out of proportion in size to the bun, under-seasoned, dry, overcooked, and again, had no taste other than the charring of the meat. The bun was the only redeeming quality. It seems to be house-made or supplied by a local bakery, as the bun was very tasty, fresh, and fairly well-toasted. The lettuce was fresh enough (came as a leaf), but there was not enough cheese. I was also annoyed that they dont dress the burgers, and thus, put my mayo on the side. Im not sure why these places cant understand a burger tastes better when dressed immediately rather than later by the customer. The fries and tater tots were obviously frozen and tasted like grease instead of potatoes. At least the grease tasted "clean", and the tots were not overcooked. A burger place should always do their sides, especially their fries, in house. In short, Old West Burgers joins the dozens of sub-par to average burgers in San Antonio. Im not a huge fan of Bigz, but its only 2 miles down the road and far better. My top 7 remain: 1) Bobby Js, 2) Cullums Attaboy, 3) Chris Madrids, 4) Fattys (Marks Outing), 5) CBQ Eatery, 6) The Cove, and 7) Chesters

I visited their old location frequently, but only just recently went to their newer location to give them a try... we left pretty disappointed. The place was not particularly busy, less than half full, but after ordering it took an hour for our order to come out. I asked them to make it to go, since we had somewhere we were supposed to be and we were already late. After we got our food, I discovered that although I had asked for and been charged for sweet potato tots, they gave me fries instead. I didnt complain at the time because it wasnt a big deal and I didnt want to wait fifteen minutes for them to fix it. To top things off, my wife left a comment on their Facebook page describing our experience, and rather than address the comment, it got deleted. There are plenty of other good burger places nearby that have given us better service; we wont be going back.

We work in the same building as Old West Burgers so we eat there numerous times a week. Our coworkers eat there at least as often. The food is always good and the service is friendly and good. The burgers are awesome (chili burger is my favorite) and the chicken sandwiches (which my wife makes me eat often) are also very good. Get the Jalapeno Bun- it is awesome! The Bison Burger is easily the best healthy sandwich/burger Ive ever had. Tots are always just right and fries are always fresh and hot. The patio is an awesome place for a beer in the evening while the kids play in the fenced in play area (they rope off the parking area in between the patio and the play area) making it safe for the kids to run across at will.

Went for the first time today. I ordered the Outlaw burger with tots. My son ordered the Outlaw chicken sandwich with tots, and my wife just got a regular cheeseburger with tots. None of us got exactly what we ordered. My wife and I both got fries instead of tots, and my son got an Outlaw burger instead of chicken. The disturbing part is the person that delivered our order acknowledge it was ordered correctly on the receipt. The kitchen just didnt pay attention. I still give it 4 stars as the food was excellent. The staff was also very pleasant. I would absolutely go again, just hopefully next time they get the details right. Its a 5-star in my book if they didnt goof up as much.

Went with my two sisters because we were hankering for a good burger and we came across this place on the internet. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger, and the only downfall I found was that the restaurant did not offer sauteed onions for the burger. To me that makes a mushroom swiss complete. The buns were AMAZING and the portions were such a great value. The fries were ok, the bonus they had going was the seasoning on them which was very similar to Fudruckers. Long story short, I will return to this establishment at some point but wish that they had a bit more items on the menu for burger toppings.

I found my favorite burger in San Antonio - the Outlaw Burger. Spicy but not too spicy, mixed with the awesome Hawaiin-like bun they serve... wowsers, talk about delicious. Service was quick and they were extremely friendly. This was my first visit but definitely wont be the last. Thanks for making my family feel welcomed.

I ordered the jalepeno burger (#2) The burger was juicy, the Jalepenos werent too spicy and the flavor was unbeatable. Seasoned and cooked to perfection! This was the first burger we have had since we moved here from Rockport and The flavor is unforgetable. We already crave another one.

I hadnt eaten beef for three years, but when I saw Old West serving another customer a cyclops burger I had to have one. And I wasnt disappointed. It was worth the guilt of breaking my diet...and Id do it again :) It is now my number one favorite burger ever.

The burgers are great, prices are good! My only complaint is, they serve can sodas over fountain sodas.. By the time you get your order you need another drink and theirs another dollar.. Fix that and it would be great!

I love this place, the bun that they use is just delicious and perfect. I am happy to have fun this place! Was just looking for a place to eat and the atmosphere is family friendly and the staff is very nice.

Mushroom swiss burger was awesome. Bun was great, fries were good. Overall a good meal. Would be five stars but.... Edit: Need to update the closing time. Drove halfway across town for nothing.
