What can I say, when I moved to Boerne I didnt expect to find a good Chinese food place. I drove past the China Bowl a few times and just kept putting off the visit thinking I would not be happy. I decided to drop in one day right around lunch for "The Test". First off the person at the front was very nice and sat me very quickly. Once I sat down I was asked what I would like to drink and served very quickly as well. I like to stick to the classics so I ordered off their easy to handle lunch menu and was ready to go. My soup came out very quickly (Hot and sour) and was just perfect!! HOT and SOUR, I dont get how some places can still get that wrong but China Bowl nailed it!! Right as I was about to put the last spoonful into the soup bowl my main course came out. I love me some generals chicken and I love even more the spin they put on it. It contained some bell peppers and carrots and they both just danced on my taste buds.At this point I blacked out in utter happiness in love with my meal placed before me. I can summarize my visit by saying that the China Bowl is not just for Boerne residents, I am going to tell all of my San Antonio friends to make the trip out my way for some great Chinese Food. Food tasted perfect. I had the General Tsos Chicken with hot and sour soup, the wife had Kung Pao trio with wonton soup. Portions were correctly sized and presentation was correct as well. We started with soup and an order of Crab meat rangoons. The Rangoons were fried to perfection and were very creamy. The subtle hint of chopped onion and crabmeat made them melt in my mouth. Having worked in Chinese food for several years, I appreciate the timing of everything. The waiter we had was not attentive which I do not understand. He was not oversat or overwhelmed, the dinning room was staffed correctly and this contributes to the 4 star rating. The only criticism of the food was the prep work. I am a huge guy with a big mouth and both of our orders should have had the meat prepped about half its served size. Vegetables in both dishes were oversized as well. Everything was cooked perfectly and we will definitely be back again and again.

Iv seen post from retarted rednecks and people who need to see a doctor for lack of brain cells saying bad things. Iv been eating here with my family and kids for yrs and have to say well done good people well done great food great peoplengreatr service. Also if you see this placed packed to the door expect to wait for your food. You are no more important then anyone els. They work hard 7 days a week every week. Dose anyone els work that hard??? Answer no. Love china bowl and everyone in it

Run! If they get your takeout order wrong and you call to ask about it, first, they disbelieve you. Then, they make you take everything back and take the food to the back and when you get it back, you and whoever else had eaten just the corrected food with you wakes up the next day sicker than a dog on a gallon of ice cream! Spent the early morning in hospital and samples of chicken are being sent in. Happy my sister is a Dr there. Also leaving review on nextdoor.

Decent Food, Very Bad Service. Stopped by for lunch. Was told to wait to be seated. Several people come in behind me and are told to sit anywhere. Ask if I should do the same. No answer. Finally, after standing there waiting to be seated several minutes and being completely ignored, my wife and I walked out. This has happened to us several times in the past. Very poorly managed restaurant.

Food is good but in smaller portions than your average Chinese restaurant. Service is always aces. Veggies on meals are straight from the fridge and not cooked at all, not even steamed. I dont mind it, but its something to consider if you like your onions/carrots/bell pepper at least steamed.

Was asked to seat ourselves (after sitting in the waiting area that had a sign to wait for seating for more than a few minutes) only for every person that came in after us to be handed menus first and even soups were out for one. Had my wife and daughter with me. Tdlr: didnt eat dont bother

Best Chinese food around. I wish they would open a buffet with the same owners. Always consistent with taste etc. I love the egg drop and won ton soups. No other Chinese restaurant compares to China Bowl!!! My husband and I eat lunch here often and for the price you cant beat it!

Cheap, great food, service is alright but for the price you seriously cannot beat the food. I eat here 3 times a week and cannot recall any time where the food was anything less than exceptional. Highly recommend!!! Give it a try and you wont be disappointed.

Its not the best Chinese Ive ever had, but itll do. Definitely the best in town and very affordable. The food is always served quickly and hot. And, the egg drop and wonton soup are about as traditional as you can get.

I order for the office and meat dishes are a good deal but I when I order vegetarian dishes, there is always a minuscule amount of food. Its a rip off if you are vegetarian.
