To steal and paraphrase a quote from somebody or another, "So many Chinese food places, so little time ". There are almost as many Chinese food places as there are Tex Mex food restaurants in San Antonio, Yet here was another black laquered, dragon decorated, guzheng music playing rice boiler . . . or so I thought. Modern decoration with understated elegance along with subdued lighting; this could easily be a nicely appointed casual dining locale serving any type of cuisine. Pleasantly surprised, we sat at a table in the back of the quiet restaurant. The lunch menu had a smallish selection as column A and column B type Chinese fare goes, but there were plenty of well known dishes to choose from of which we picked two; beef and broccoli and triple delight. We elected to try the egg drop and hot and sour soups for $1.50 each more. Soups were as good as we have had and served promptly. The main dishes were served before we had finished our soups. Each dish had a generous amount of the main protein for the dish. In fact the normal ratio of veggies to protein, which is usually 2 to 1 or thereabouts, respectively was reversed. Large tender hunks of beef filled both plates along with a few shrimp and chicken meat slivers for the triple delight. The fried rice had a more authentic taste to it (whatever that means . . .that it was very good I guess) than was usually the case. Several dollars more that the usual Chinese lunch specials, the quality of the food made Confucious say, "You get what you pay for". Very true here. We liked it and will be back.

I just placed an order for fried wontons and a combination fried rice. The wontons came in a greasy plastic bowl. Contacted MJ and they stated that they will be able to adjust the delivery but I have to contact the delivery company for redelivery. Contacted the deliver ring and Danny the manager of the deliveries advised me that if I wanted friend wontons I would be charged for them! Danny stated theres nothing he can do and advised me of the complete opposite Of what MJ told me!!!! They told two seep rate things so that I dont get my order!!!! Ridiculous! Horrible. Dont buy anything from here they will mess up your order and say that thats what you ordered! And will charge you if you want redelivery!!!

The interior design is the first hint that this is going to be great ...the use of texture, lighting and subtle colors add to the whole dining experience. Ive watched the progress of this little restaurant as they broke ground and developed the building. Who knew such a great menu would be available in our neighborhood? No #22 standards here. Im no restaurant critic, but I know what I like and the variety will keep me coming back for more, especially the MJ rice-nutty, whole grains with a hint of purple color adds whimsy to what can often be a side of ho-hum. Im planning a big birthday event there next month to show it off to 15 of my closest friends! Go, experience it for yourself!

I work nearby so i ordered online and went to pick up the order. I figured if the food is good i will order for my team at another time. No issue with the ordering system. However, the food was horrible. I ordered the Sesame Chicken lunch and besides the food portion being exceptionally small it tasted awful. The MJ Bistro rice or whatever they call it is awful clumpy steamed rice with no taste. The chicken sauce was slimy and tasted like a tv dinner entree. This awful food should be priced at a tv dinner entree instead of 9.xx . Good i know this now so i wont recommend this place to anyone on my work team or to anyone i know at all! Dont waste your lunch or money on this establishment.

The food here is delish. I had the egg drop soup and the General chicken. The portions are good, prices are great and the value overall is good. The only complaint would be the cleanliness. I managed to drop my phone between the wall and the side of the booth. I stuck my hand between the booth and it was dirty. Then I had to stick my hand between the wall and the booth to get my phone and trust me it felt like no one had been in there in quite a while. While I have no complaints about the food, service, portions or price I certainly would recommend some deep cleaning on the carpets and pull out the booths every now and then.

Weve lived here a few years now, and while only a mile away from here have never given it a shot. No clue why, but I wish we had sooner. By far the best Chinese food and sushi restaurant on this side of town. The Lo Mein was the best Ive had in San Antonio and the sushi and dumplings were absolutely excellent. If we werent moving soon, there would be no doubt this would be our new spot to go out to eat. Also, everyone working there was extremely friendly. This is the first review Ive ever done on google but really felt the need to do so. Try it out.

I thought I would be able to rate this place based off the food and service but the server Mark T decided to take a additional tip by adding a 7.00 tip to our bill after my husband and I left him a cash tip. We paid for our meal with a credit card!!! I noticed on my bank statement that there was additional amount taken out for a tip ... I was in disbelief that someone would forged my writing and thought I wouldnt notice it!!! I will not be returning to this place again but only to get my money back!!!

Food is sub par, we had to tell them our order 7 times before they got it right, found a bone in their sesame chicken, and a hair in my rice. If this place was cheap i could maybe accept that, but they charge full price for really crappy food. As a much much smaller side note, despite ordering for 3 people we got 1 small thing of soy sauce to split between 3 orders of dumplings, but we got plenty of sweet and sour sauce for our 3 spring rolls. Oh and we didnt get any fortune cookies.

I will not be going back to this place. The two times ordering has been a mess. The wait times for online pick ups are always incorrect and the service at the front counter is not welcoming at all. I just get a vibe that im wasting their time. The food is decent but due to employees who dont care about their customers -or their concerns- I will not be returning and nor will the people I work with (who have not had good experiences either honestly)

Got my entire order wrong. Its actually quite remarkable how wrong it was. Had to wait while they fixed it, but it was still wrong when I got home. The food seems really good, but its not what I wanted. Originally, I requested delivery, but they told me they didnt deliver. While I waited for them to correct my food, I asked why their website says they deliver. They told me they have a 3rd party who does their deliveries for them. Wtf, people
