I have been eating here since the mid 80s. I have never had anything less than the best and freshest Chinese. All I can say is the negatives MUST be people with ulterior motives... Ive had Mongolian beef all over and have never had any that rival the Yen Jing. The waiters have always gone out of their way to take care of you. Some people just whine over the top any time they dont get any little detail they desire, but what I love about the food is that it is fresh made and always delicious the day you buy it and awesome for left overs! I now live over an hour away and still drive to get the food. My son wanted to drive to Greenville last night because he wanted Yen Jing for his 18th birthday. I get leftovers today!! YEA! I know the place has changed hands, but I have never noticed a drop off in the quality of food and service. You can go to your buffets, but you cant even start to compare the food to this. I am always happy when I pay. I have eaten a many restaurants that were twice the price and not near as good. There is a sign in the back I noticed last night that says (to its employees) "If customer walk out, so do you."

After over 20 years plus of dining at this restaurant I will have to hang it up and not come back. My husband and I had two complete different meals Human Beef and Garlic Shrimp, they both tasted the same, brown salty nasty sauce with the exception mine had burnt garlic flavor. You could smell the garlic all over the restaurant, immediate red flag. I had asked the waitress before ordering about the seasoning of two other shrimp dinners and the difference were the different veggies , she described both with the brown sauce, I have never had either dish with this nasty thick sauce. thats why I went with the Garlic shrimp no brown sauce. Unfortunately they have loss the touch of delicacy and fine Chinese cooking flavors. I asked if they had a new chef they said no, The chef said thats the way it was supposed to taste and so be it, they asked if we wanted another dish but by this point I could not even think of putting anything else in my mouth. I am so very sad and disappointed, I hope they change their ways and return to their fine exquisite cooking.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years. Is it as good as the original owners? No. However it is still better than anyone else. My parents traveled so much that pages had to be added to their passports, and they say it is by far the best Chinese food they have ever had. No one surpasses the lunch for hot, fresh food and a lot of it. When I take home a dinner meal, it lasts for three meals. Room for improvement? Oh yes. Miss when the sizzling rice soup was actually served at table with sizzling rice. Spicy items were actually spicy. You now should ask for extra pepper. Also, there seems to be too much cornstarch used in items like almond chicken and twice cooked pork, but still, I would ignore the Chinese buffet food troughs for this fresh, excellent food and service. Service is exemplary, especially love David who has worked there almost as long as I have been a customer. Hope you enjoy.

IGNORE THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS! Ive been to that plce hundreds of times at different times of the day/week. Ive never seen them be not sanitary and also the last state OSHA inspection they had PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS!!! ... Please explain about the other 3 chinese places that were here and why they are closed ? :-/ Youre not taking a "chance" when you go eat there. You are making a wise choice for oriental food. Saki is the greatest there too. Just ignore these nonsense comments as some of these locals are typical "never happy about anything" type customers. Also when you order, the food IS FRESH, every plate they make they cook, they dont save the food for not even for a second for the next person and pass it along like McDonalds and Burger King does. Eat here, you wont regret it!

Food is good however my negative came from the staff. Me and my party asked to be seated away from everbody else and the lil man escorted us to a table that was next to a loud full table of 8. We respectfully requested another table and he said we can just sit here. After a brief discussion with my party we left. This maybe a minor infraction to some but we wanted a table AWAY from everbody else after all we are paying customers.

We recently moved to Caddo Mills, near Greenville, from Dallas. We were looking for a good Chinese food place. After trying another, horrible place, which I wont name, we tried Yen Jing. Wow, what a difference. We ordered take out, which was ready when I went to pick it up. Prices are pretty cheap too. Everything was fresh and hot and the staff are very friendly. A friend suggested we try it out and we were really pleased.

Fortune cookies are novelties. The real fortune is the food, arguably the best Chinese food this side of the Great Wall. It could survive and thrive anywhere, yet after 40+ years they remain in the same part of town, where businesses big and small have come and are long gone. Thanks Yen Jing, your constant presence in an ever changing town is a pleasant reminder that good things can and do last.

I tend to judge a Chinese Resturant by the vegetables that they serve as well as the sauce. I myself have been to China and know that this is a very important part of Chinese Cousine. I did not like the vegetables at all and the sauce was not good as well. You can get better food at a buffet then here. Listen to me, go somewhere better such as Pandas in Commerce, TX or anywhere.

They have gone down hill! Had princess chicken, tasted old and in almost positive was warmed over from day or two before! What a shame! Dropped 3 stars! Been eating here since 1985. I live in Denton now and have been out of Greenville since 1999. I still eat here whenever I can. I have lived all over Dallas area and still this is the best.

I have been coming here for over 20 years, and nobody gets any better at Chinese cuisine than Yen Jings. No luke warm buffet for lunch: excellent hot plate lunches with generous portions that include an egg roll and choice of soup. Dinner entrees are massive portions, also, with an abundance of choice. I cant soeak too highly of Yen Jings!

I got General Tsos Chicken and I was very skeptical about it being any good. Im from the northeast and I eat a lot of Chinese Food. The General Tsos was decent. Definitely not what Im used to getting but it did taste alright. The chicken needs to be cooked just a little longer. Good portions though! So I give it between a 2-3 star rating.

DO NOT EAT HERE! After we had finished our meal..my daughter looked over and noticed a half dead RAT in the corner next to our table!!!! We promptly notified the manager. She was reluctant to comp any of our meal!!! After insisting...she only comped us half price. THATS DISGUSTING....WORST PLACE EVER!!!!
