IF YOU LOVE FATTY BBQ, EAT HERE. We are locals and have eaten here 4-5 times. First time was OK, but the cole slaw tasted old. We ate the brisket and sausage. Some fat in brisket, but we ate it anyway. Sausage is like what you buy at a grocery store, but with smokey taste. Second time, the cole slaw was still old tasting and potato salad was on the dry side and had very large clumps of potato. Third time we avoid the cole slaw and potato salad was still dry-ish and very large lumps. Had the chopped brisket sandwich which had lots of fat. I asked if they cut the brisket slices, then chop it up for the sandwich. NO, they mix all the leftover meat cuttings from the day and chop it up for the sandwiches. YUK! No wonder there is so much fat in the sandwich. The fourth, and last time, we ate there, the sliced beef sandwich was made of VERY FATTY SLICES that we would not even feed our dog. I asked the server about it and she asked if we ordered LEAN for the sandwich. I said we did not and did not know that was necessary. After all, how many people want FATTY slices. Hey, we paid $37 for this meal, too. The cole slaw still tasted old, and the potato salad was still dry and very lumpy. Youd think we would learn from past visits, but thought maybe they had an off day, but NO, it was the same. The pinto beans are good. I took the fatty meat to the counter and confronted the staff: Here is the fatty meat for the next sucker, I said. Again, they said I did not ask for lean cuts. I said, How many persons want FAT to eat?? I said, Why dont you ask the customer if they want lean or fat? They said we just dont. Its up to them to ask. As I left, the meat slicer asked if I wanted another sandwich. WHAT???? He should have been smart enough to have already cut up the LEAN meat and offered it before I left. We will never go back. We are used to Blacks BBQ in Lockhart, where they do ask if you want fat or lean. And, the Salt Lick, in Driftwood, NEVER serves FATTY brisket. So, if you like beans, go to the OLD 300, where they have "Old" slaw and fatty cuts. You have been warned.

Brisket, some of the best Ive had. Sandwich, bigger than most places. Sides kinda standard, maybe worth half the price. The Willie Nelson, though a good concept, uses a sliced pork tenderloin in the sandwich with a couple other meats. Pork tenderloin needs fat because it is so lean, and without it that makes the large amount of meat a little dry. Maybe chopping up all the meat together would make it less dry, but the flavor was still good. No BBQ sauce on the table, found that a bit odd, and only a sweat sauce available... found out later they had others. Overall, I would give it the 4.4 rating that it had when we got here. Highly recommend if in the area.

Rustic BBQ place right in the townsquare of Blanco, TX with some of the best brisket around! Service was fast and friendly, brisket was tender and the sausage had the perfect pop...fries were fresh and hot! Two choices on sauce...Hot or Sweet...I mixed them. I had the El Jefe...a HUGE brisket and jalapeño sausage sandwich on a soft roll...more than enough to satisfy any appetite! Prices are about standard with othr BBQ places, but the sandwiches are definitely on the LARGE size here and you do get what you pay for! Just get some and enjoy it as much as I did!

We went on Fathers Day around 2:00. They close at 3:00 and were already sold out. We were bummed out since we drove from out of town, so we ordered a couple of sides and drinks. But the girl at the front could tell we were starving, and she came to our table with the last of the chopped BBQ, the last baked potato, and some bread. She was so sweet. Will definitely return...just earlier in the day

Took my wife to this place last night. This place definitely is at the top of our list for BBQ now! we had the brisket which was smoked to perfection! Very tender and moist. The sausage was great as well. We could not leave without purchasing some of their BBQ sauce in bottles to go. Great hospitality and great food and a very reasonable price gives them 5 stars from us. Good job OLD 300!!!!

Place has the look and more importantly the smell if a real pit BBQ place. I got there when there was no line (7:30 pm), but they were out of sausage. Doesnt matter, because their Turkey and brisket are really good. Ribs had the right bite, but they were a little more salty than I like mine. $23 for three meats and a side of fried okra seemed a bit high too. Still, 4 stars.

From Illinois and on a trek looking for good TX BBQ. This is a hit, excellent brisket and turkey. The creamed corn I could eat every day. The staff was super friendly and the ambiance was perfect for my wife and I. There is a little condiment bar the has marinated/pickled onions. If I didnt have to get on a plane I would have bought a bucket of them.

This is a really good place to enjoy Texas-style BBQ. Not the best, but excellent for the Blanco area. Their choices of sides are better than most BBQ restaurants within 100 miles. The two BBQ sauces they offer on the side are unworthy, but good BBQ shouldnt need the added sauce. I recommend Old 300.

Sausage, creamed corn and potato salad were A+. The brisket with their homemade tangy sauce was also wonderful! Great barbecue place in Blanco with the perfect laid-back atmosphere youd expect from a truly Texan barbecue joint. It was named after the first 300 settlers in the U.S.!

Great setting, place is great for a quick getaway from San Antonio. Had the brisket sandwich and it had real smoke wood taste. Lunch specials from 11-2, make its a great price for a good meal. Parking is limited, parked across the street, easy to cross not too much traffic.

This is a nice little BBQ place. The food is good and the baked potatoes are a good size. They have two BBQ sauces and all you can eat pickles, onions and bread. Very quaint. The brisket was very tender. They also have a large area in the back for parties.

Great place right by the town square in picturesque Blanco, Texas. I got the jalapeno sausage sandwich and it was awesome! Yes, its a little pricey here but you definitely get your moneys worth! Huge portions cooked to perfection. Highly recommended!!
