I still cannot get over how fast the new section of the Domain has grown! Recently discovered the Yard House when I got lost in the labyrinth of the Domains "inner sanctum" towards the new Rock Rose section. I was so glad I did because I was on the edge of actual starvation late on a Sunday night and was in dire need of food and a beer. It was like this place was a literal answer to my prayers! I was lucky enough to score out-front street parking, but there is an almost adjacent garage in case you arent as lucky as me. I sat at the bar in hopes of lightning fast service and was not disappointed! The bartender was very nice and attentive and provided us with drink and food menus. Their beer list is hella extensive and impressive and has several selections in any style known to beerkind! The food menu is as well, but the minute I saw they had a reuben on the menu I was sold! I got mine w/a side of sweet potato fries. The reuben here was surprisingly delicious and fulfilling! The meat was juicy and the cheese was gooey and melty, kraut had just enough sour and the sauce was just right. Though the bread was a tad on the greasy side, I did not mind since everything it was covering was delicious! The sweet potato fries were quality as well with the majority being the right level of crispy. I had two belgians (one of my fav beer styles) here that I had not previously seen on beer menus in town before, so I was impressed. As someone who has over 1250 beers logged on UnTappd, I am hard to impress with a beer selection! I had my doubts about this place as I do with most chains moving into the Austin area, but the quality was good, the price on par with other restaurants in the Domain (so not cheap, but not ridiculously overpriced either), the options aplenty, and the interior/ambiance a mix of sports bar, brewpub, and above average casual dining.

My entree gets five stars. The desserts, and service get 2 stars. The beer selection is pretty large, and I do like that they allow you to sample a beer before you order it. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken for my entree and it was great. Crispy, spicy, moist. The pancakes that came with the chicken were a bit sweet, but eaten with the chicken, it was a nice balance of flavor. I ordered the brussel sprouts and potato dish for an app - not bad, but also not mind blowing. Now the service was atrocious. My boyfriend and I came in around 8 for a late-ish dinner. Wait was not too long. The waiter came right to the table and was very friendly and polite. But that was really the only time we actually spoke to her the whole night. The rest of the night we had to flag her down to place our order and to get refills and such. It seemed as though she was either avoiding us, or had way too many tables in other areas. The desserts were very plain. I might be a little biased, since I am a baker, but I felt as though they were box quality. We ordered the trio of desserts - creme brulee, chocolate souffle, and peach apple cobbler. The fruit in the cobbler definitely came from a can. The souffle had fallen and tasted like a box chocolate cake. The creme brulee, first was banana flavored and covered in cold bananas which was not appealing, but most unfortunate, tasted nearly spot on to instant banana pudding. To my surprise, the bottom of the creme brulee had cold chocolate chips. It was pretty bad honestly. To summarize: appetizer was decent, food was excellent, dessert was disappointing, service was poor, but the beer selection is amazing. Still going to give this place another shot.

Very average restaurant. We decided to try Yard House since it is always packed. There was a 30 minute wait which is fine and to be expected on a Friday night. We sat outside which was very nice. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. Our waiter greeted us almost as soon as we sat down. He was awesome- very tentative and personable. He seemed like he cared about our night out which we appreciated. The drinks were good and strong. The appetizer, cheese curds, were good. They were really greasy and could have used a pat down before serving though. The sauces that came with the appetizer were a nice touch. Dinner, however, was a nightmare. I ordered the Gardein Mac & Cheese. It reminded me of a Velveeta macaroni dinner with some mushrooms and vegetarian-meat tossed in. My boyfriend ordered the swordfish tacos and were difficult to eat. They were so incredibly salty. The dressings on the tacos were fine but the fish was so salty he couldnt finish his dinner. Neither of us could finish our meals and Im sure our leftover will go untouched, tossed out in a couple of days. For a $100 dinner, we expected more from the food.

With the many fabulous restaurants in Austin, a dear friend unknowingly sent me a gift card to the Yard House without checking reviews. The restaurant is spacious & inviting. However, the compliments stop with that being said. We dinned here on a slow day for Yard House & found the service slower than molasses., The BBQ chicken salad was mediocre & had flavorless, wilted lettuce. We were more than half-way through our meal & made a third request for the ordered wine. The young server seemed totally indifferent to offering basic service. This so seldom happens to us, that we were incredulous. Our friendliness had no affect to continue with our order. We finally summoned another server to come to our aid. Unfortunate the young man did not know we always tip 50%. Too many great places in Austin for dining to receive lousy service & fast-food quality food.

You have to try this place! Food was delicious. We ordered the Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer. Oh my goodness they were the best Ive ever had. I think the two sauces served with the shrimp really help make this dish incredible. For dinner, my husband had the Nashville Fried Chicken. The batter was spicy and crunchy, the pancakes went well with the fried chicken, and the pickles were made in-house. I ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Again, perfect. There are 3 pages for the beer menu and another couple pages of cocktails organized by liquor. The vodka citrus crush was light and refreshing, but a bit on the sweet side. The prices are a bit high. Ordering off three hour menu is definitely the way to go. Our meal cost about $50 for the shrimp appetizer, lettuce wraps (happy hour special), Nashville Fried Chicken, and a beer. We will definitely be going back!

This place is great! I absolutely love their food and Im never disappointed when I come here. They definitely get their share of customers. Although theyre usually pretty busy depending on the time they have a pretty good waiting system. The bar is huge and wraps around in the middle. Perfect atmosphere for a night out around town center. The service was good, the food was delicious, and the restaurant was clean! I LOVE their burgers and the truffle fries are a MUST. They have good cocktails and will let you sample the ciders or beer which is nice when you cant decide. The prices arent bad for quality food. They can accommodate large dinner parties as well. The menu has a great selection of food options for everyone to love, the drink menu is also packed with options. It does get pretty loud, but thats how you know its a great sports bar.
