Good chili! Ive been carrying out a systematic and comprehensive review of the available Texas chili bowls available in Austin restaurants. For some reason, Burnet Road seems to be a haven for good chili, and The Local Post is no exception. The "bowl" is a decent serving, not huge but filling. Fairly spicy (my spice tolerance is pretty high). Nice place, friendly service (though note that I was there at a definitely off time). Plenty of parking. Ive also tried the "Naked Chicken", which from the dish name and description probably seems like something for the Weight Watchers crowd (probably on purpose) but its really good not just a plain chicken breast. Plus Id like to hug whoever prepared the side serving of broccoli: thoroughly cooked (not mush, but definitely not raw) and very well seasoned.

This place is fantastic. The bartender was great . He has that wonderful personality that got all of us at the bar talking to each other. I was with my out of town friend that had many questions about the menu and was a high maintenance customer. The bartender answered all of her questions and didnt act like it was a bother. I had a cheeseburger. It was cooked a perfect medium rare. It is so difficult to find someone that can actually cook a burger right. I almost wanted to kiss the cook. This place is worth checking out. By the way, they make their margaritas from scratch.

It was a gorgeous day and after a most delectable lunch, I was ready for a tropical cocktail so a friend suggested The Local Post Pub that has been open for only three months. Even though I was there for a tropical drink, it was a tad too humid on the expansive deck so we headed inside to the bar where Barman Daniel crafted some great drinks. I had the mojito which was one of the best Ive had in ages. I love the atmosphere of this venue and have also heard that the food is quite decent so I must set a date for a return.

New, "open (as in the way its designed)", I like the things they have going on there - pop-a-shot, huge PacMan game, actually have a running poker game, if interested. Lots of sports games going on. Bartenders are really cool. So was the bar manager, actually. A bit pricey. Then again, i wasnt drinking Lone Star or PBR. I highly suggest the place. Especially if you dont like the same old or "old/new" places on Burnet.

The place looks good, renovation was much needed. Beer selection was normal, nothing out of this world, but they were good. Happy hour seems like a good offer and until 7pm. BUT SERVICE is terrible. Not sure if it was the bar we sat, but one of the guys trying to be nice was way too pushy and the other to serve a draft beer took 15 min and he was there just standing.

Place is a great concept but it seemed like our server was intentionally ignoring our table. Then when we paid, it took the server about 15 minutes to return our change/cards back. I will not be back. First impression was a let down

Fun place! The menu is guessing with flavor and uniqueness. Theres indoor and outdoor games plus sports watch parties and social sports leagues for those that arent cool with just watching!

Been to The Local Post many times since they opened. Everything Ive tried food wise is damn tasty. Staff os friendly and the bar has a great atmosphere both inside and out.
