The Grove is a great place for gathering with friends and family. The atmosphere is lively and the bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeble. The menu has a good variety of pizzas, salads, pastas and apps - although I wish they would include simple entrees like grilled chicken or fish w/ veggies - they have the ingredients. The Grove has the potential for greatness. That being said, first they need to fire their Chef. What sounds good on the menu fails miserably in execution. The only upside have been the cheese and meat trays. The tuna salad was noticably overcooked - grey tuna! Any decent chef would have caught that before it left the kitchen. The next time I tried chicken bow-tie pasta, it fell flat, just blah. This last time we shared mussels, a pizza and ordered the house salads - how can they screw that up? First the salad, the dressing was a lovely asian inspired delight, however it mustve been sitting in the window for a while because being mostly spinach and shredded carrots it was totally soggy and limp- tasted ok but would benefit from some crunchy greens. The mussels were chewy and lacking in flavor. We went for the garlic chicken pizza, sounded great, but it was so salty that we didnt finish it - three people didnt finish a small pizza! The service also leaves something to be desired. Its generally busy when weve gone so its been difficult to get your servers attention if you need something - then once you ask it takes forever to get it. The servers have also been unhelpful when it comes to choosing wine in stark contrast to the bartenders who were great and made awesome recommendations. Our last waiter, when asking to recommend a something dry, e.g., referred to the flight menu and told us to choose from there. In summary, great concept, great place to hang out with friends. Order your wine at the bar or otherwise get recommendations before you sit down, stick with the cheese and sampler trays and if you can grab a bite on the way!

slightly over priced for the q&q..but food is good ...tastes very nice if u go for the spicy variant..me being from india its obvious i go great lenghts to get good food...ordered the Jerk Linguini ...the chicken as usual in this part of the world is tasteless but surprisingly the flavors had managed to go deep into the tender strips.... the onions were slightly irregular fried so some were well while few were barely saute ed .. coming to ther shrimp..i love shrimp period... and i can cook pretty well too so let me tell you ...shrimps take a lot of pain to clean...the cooking is the easy part...the reason i am giving 3 stars actually 3.5 ...is because couple of shrimps were NOT deveined properly ...had some dark gut still sticking out...not good...not good for restaurant of this standard and price....so i call them ....and i am told about some asthetic angle or something .... but i must say.....there isnothing asthetic to semi cleaned shrimps...they very sadly apologize for the mistake and offer me to buy lunch tomorrow!!! now thats what i call customer goodwill and thats how we make a difference..."after all to err is to humane"...for that reason only they lost half a star else they are a good 4 star..no doubt....i suggest check it out

Food is above average however the salmon has bones inside and when they tell you it doesnt and extremely spicy when not indicated so in the menu. Service however is below average in every way. Starts with the hostess being bothered she had to put her book down and dragging her feet to your table to giving you a visibly dirty high chair. The server not remembering anything you asked him like a kids menu for starters or remembering to come by your table to take your order, to the manager who never stops by your table when food is returned to the kitchen and not asking if they can bring another dish instead they watch your starve. Then after dropping the bill the server quietly takes your kids plate and throws it away. When asked if its being boxed as all but 3 bites were gone. Server looks confused and bothered. This place I recommend if you like to have way below par service.

The wine selection varies from $5 a glass upper 20s per glass... Im not positive how expensive it gets for my eyes were too stunned at the prices to look long, "um, uh, Ill just have this $5.75 Pino please..." That being said, the crowd here on a Friday night varied as much as the wine selection and it was still comfortable being a less than sophisticated wine connoisseur as there was no judgement yet there were obviously those with an advanced palette and understanding of wines present and enjoying their time as well. The outdoor seating was beautiful on a December night; mature oak trees were covered in glorious white lights over patio seating. Our server was attentive and courteous as the other servers seem to be as well. Small plates were available and perfect for sharing or devouring alone.

I really enjoy the food here, as well as the ambiance, especially outside when the weather is nice. They have a nice selection of wine, and of course will help you find one you like. They also have a nice selection of fresh, tasty food, with lots of healthy options. Some of the salads in particular are fantastic. Im very fond of the seared ahi tuna salad. The poke is also delicious, and the weekly specials tend to be fabulous. Ive had some incredible soups and sandwiches here as well. In fact, just about everything Ive tried has been delicious. They are also very accommodating, and if you want to substitute something, or make changes, Ive never had them refuse. Staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

The Grove Wine Bar and Kitchen is an exceptional dining experience. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts are unbelievably flavorful and great to split with two people. My boyfriend and I went and were amazed at the incredible wine list. In the past we have had the New Mediterranean Pizza (without olives) and loooved it! It was very tasty. I have had the Steak Salad with Smoked Gouda. It was amazing!! The steak was perfectly cooked. What makes the experience is their outdoor patio. The outdoor patio has beautiful lights hung and is perfect on a warm or cool night. Every time we come we are always blown away with the flavorful dishes. Also, the service and staff are warm and welcoming!

Atmosphere, service and well prepared food. A trifecta. We drove out from Austin to meet friends and were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and unique menu. We sat outdoors under beautiful old oaks. In spite of the 92 degree temperature, it was comfortable w the huge fan and mild breeze. Two of us shared a house pizza, plenty of garlic and sliced tomato with a tasty blend of cheeses and a Brooklyn style crust (crispy but still bready) The pork entree was a hit, with the black bean and corn hash a great mate to the perfectly prepared single serving pork roast. The berry and spinach salad was a full meal, loaded w assorted berries. In spite of the drive, well be back.

Ive been to the Grove at least 10 times since it opened. Most recently tonight. I can say without hesitation that the decline in both service, knowledge about wine and the food have all been lowered to a point that I wont go back. I love the menu, and I would have hoped that the management would be much more attentive regarding the quality of the service and servers. Other than the hostesses, getting any service beyond stuff getting thrown at you without a smile, or a timely check-back when my food was served was a distant dream. Im bummed, because I really hoped this place had legs. Now, its just another mediocre wannabe!
