If you want a quick, cheap sandwich near campus, Potbelly is hard to beat. And its certainly better than Subway. If you get the Hooked app, you can often get a free soda ($1.99) or chips ($1.50) with your lunchtime sandwich purchase. Thats probably the cheapest meal you can get on The Drag! Plus theres often live music being played throughout the day. I almost always get an original Wreck (salami, roast beef, turkey, ham, and swiss cheese) on wheat bread and leave quite satisfied. The Mediterranean and Pizza Sandwich are also quite good. On a separate note, Potbelly is one of my favorite places to have food catered from for campus events. They have a simple online ordering system that makes everything dead easy. Just mention in the comments that youre from UT and bring your tax exempt form. The cashiers are quite quick at handling all that stuff. I would discourage ordering any catered drinks however, since theyre incredibly over-priced. You should just pick something up at 7-11 or CVS instead.

Hot and messy, just how I like it. I took a risk on the PB&J and although they let me down with the chip selection (NO CHEETOS!) the bread was toasted which in turn made the peanut butter melt which in turn made my knees quiver. Mmmm, mmmm. It wasnt very crowded for a lunch stop at noon. The elderly in front of us possibly caused a longer wait than usual but luckily I was lunching with a couple of my most hilarious friends and was well entertained. The only complaint I have is the lack of combos. Restaurants know we are going to get chips and a drink, dont think you are "doing us a favor" by selling it separate. I tried to google the exact statistics but Id be willing to bet that 80% of people would benefit from a combo meal rather than the 20% they say they are helping by selling items individually at a "cheaper price." In the end, good experience, yummy sandwich, all is well that ends well.

Definitely my to go place on campus when I want a sandwich. Though there usually may be a line during peak hours like noon, it really moves quickly and there is always the option to order online and pickup. The prices are maybe a little on the high side for some, but it is well worth it given that most places forgo quality to deliver cheap prices. The mushroom melt is my usual order at this place, which I sometimes customize by adding onions and green peppers. The soups are also something to consider when going, with the garden vegetable, and spicy black bean being probably the best. Overall, really a great place to grab a quick lunch, would def return.

Cheapest (bang-for-the-buck) food on the drag (guadalupe), with an atmosphere that I feels exemplifies Austins indie style. The food is INCREDIBLE, my favorite sandwiches ever. You HAVE to get the hot peppers, and in my opinion, just order it with everything, save the things you dont like (pickles for me). Everyone is always very nice and welcoming, and it is managed by the most awesome dude you will ever meet (look for the guy with the tie-die shirt, tattoos and a crazy-cut beard...his name is Zack) Definitely THE place to go. (get the Wreck...trust me)

Potbelly Sandwich Works is my favorite place to go for sandwiches. Even though there is usually a large line during the noon hour, the line moves very quickly. My friends and I typically submit our order online because you can immediately go to the cashier instead of waiting in the long line. Their sandwiches are very tasty (my favorite is the Wreck---try it with the hot peppers and mustard...yum). Their shakes are awesome. Great service and staff all around.

Potbelly is always consistent with their sandwhiches. My two favorites are the pepperoni sub and the Italian sub. While you are there treat yourself to a shake or cookie. They will not dissapoint. There are a couple of tables outside in the front and some seating outside in the back. At this location the interior of the store is laid out in an awkward fashion. Overall I would recommend this play to anyone that likes a good sub sandwich.

The atmosphere of this place is very pleasant. They have booths around back that are sort of private, which makes for a good place to study with your friends. The staff is friendly. The thing that really bugs me is that they close off the back section a few hours before closing because they dont want anyone getting it dirty. I understand their goal but theyre sacrificing customer experience for employee convenience.

This is my favorite sandwich place to go to! Their sandwiches are always delicious, especially their italian sub. The contents are always fresh, it doesnt take forever, and the staff is friendly. Aside form the subs, their soup is amazing! My favorite is their potato and broccoli and cheese. It can be a little pricey but it is a great place to go for lunch or for dinner. Also, their cookies are addicting!

Is potbelly gonna win the world sandwich championships? Probably not, but lets hope that such an event exists. Potbelly has sandwiches and salads that are levels above Quiznos and Subway and their spicy relish (almost like a giardiniera with pickled jalapenos) elevates everything just a couple steps higher. Friendly staff, but watch out for long lines coinciding with classes letting out on campus.

There comes a time in a mans life when he has to admit to enjoying a good soup from time to time, and this is that time for this man. If youre around campus and craving a hearty bowl of liquid energy, give Potbelly a shot. It is definitely one of the better soups youre gonna get from in-and-out style restaurants such as this one. On the plus side: its cheap!

Good luck finding a parking space in this lot during lunchtime! Once you do though, make sure to order right - skip the salads, go for the sandwiches with as much meat and seasonings as possible. The tuna and the meatball sandwiches are a little try, but I love the Wrecks! Try a dream bar, you wont regret it. Service could be a little faster.

Their salads are fantastic! So fresh, delicious, and tons of it. Their cookies are also right on par with my favorite oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Their service has always been spot on - especially at the Arborwalk at 360 and Mopac in Austin, Texas location. Love the local live music they have on Sundays!

Im not a big fan of sandwiches but I love this place. The sandwiches are good and there are so many varieties. If you dont want a sandwich, they also have soups, salads and desserts. The ambience is what I like the best. I love coming here with my friends and sitting at one of the booths.

This location gets absolutely hammered with UT students but Ive never been disappointed with their efficient staff nor their delicious, delicious sammies. They have healthy options that are still super tasty like the TKY on wheat with peppers and no mayo. Yum!

The best sandwich shop near campus. The bread is always perfect and the ingredients are always fresh. The service is also extremely friendly and you always feel welcome here. While youre at it, grab and oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. They are DELICIOUS.
