Went to the drive thru on our way back to work from a meeting order nachos and one pato. Horrible food. We were there for 10 min before we got our order. There was no condiments and no forks. Opened our food on the way back to work and found nachos had unmelted cheese on top layer and no cheese at all on bottom layer. Of course they were cold. The pato has unmelted cheese and cold potatoes. Immediately called and spoke to Michael who had to call me back because he apparently did not know how to handle the situation. He wanted to food back and was going to replace it so for is to turn around. When i explained that we were headed back to work to Rio Hondo and could not turn around he asked if I could come later with the food. I told him that I would not keep cold food all day. He he wantes to come to Rio Hondo and bring me the food. That was great except for the fact that the food would be ice cold by the time he got it to us. He was determined to get the cold plates and thought nothing of the customer service. He had no understanding or concern when I explained that I could not have him come to my job and interrupt my work. In the end nothing was done to replace the terrible meals. We WILL NOT be going back there again.

AFTER PLACING AN ORDER AT THE HARLINGEN EL PATO REATAURANT AND PICKING IT UP, I FOUND THAT THE TORTILLAS WERE BURNT,REFRIED BEANS WERE BURNT AND THE CARNE GUISADA LOOKED LIKE AS IF IT BEEN FROM TWO DAYS PRIOR AND WAS JUST REHEATED AND THE PICO DE GALLO LOOKED AND TASTED OLD, AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE MANAGER "ALICIA" SHE INSISITED THAT ALL THE INGREDIENTS WERE FRESH AND PREPARED THAT DAY, COME ON EL PATO WILL NOT REVEAL THE TRUTH ABOUT ITS PRACTICES AND NOT ONLY IN THE HARLINGEN RESTAURANT BUT IN THE WESLACO EL PATO ALSO. SEEMS TO ME THAT AFTER THE ORIGINAL OWNER SOLD THE CHAIN EL PATO HAS GONE SOUTH ALONG WITH THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD THAT IS BEING SERVED. I WILL NOT GO BACK TO EL PATO RESTAURANT........GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!!!!

Very Terrible Service! I wouldnt recommend it!! They took long with our order, staff looked very lost and confused, the lady that took our was not very welcoming at all. Was yelling at staff left and right, only person who bothered to ask if everything was okay was a young lady megan. We asked for salsas and they had ones that tasted old and just like alot of lemon in them, nothing spicy for tacos, when we asked the lady that took our order for something more spicy she rolled her eyes and said there was and they said they were barely making it and came back with a jalapeño!!!! Like really??? And bought us salsa ranchera very oily!! Ugh just bad. And tacos were very oily and cold by the time they got to the table !

Horrible customer service in the drive-thru! Brandy, was the cashiers name on my receipt. They took forever to answer at the drive-thru. After I pulled up to the window I asked for limes. The cashier rolled her eyes at me, closed the window in my face pretended to have worked, talked with a coworker then they both looked in my direction and laughed. The cashier came to the window and told me to pull up to the parking lot to wait for limes. I immediately drove off without my limes since they make you wait 10-15 mins there on average.

Good luck getting your order correct if you go through the drive through. It takes forever to come out and once it does, it is usually wrong. The managers solution to the problem was for me to bring the tacos back to "switch them out" after I get out of work. So I guess I am supposed to just not eat lunch today so I can save the wrong order to return to the store to prove it was really wrong? Final straw with this place...I have been burned too many times. Hope this review saves you from a frustrating lunch experience.

Dont ever go through the drive-thru. First there is no point to it being a drive-thru as you have to pull around and wait 10-15 minutes for your food to even be brought out. I have given three chances. Each time I have been given the wrong order when brought out to my car. Food is good, but service is not. Eating inside is the only option you should try at this place.

I paid additional for lettuce and tomato and the minute I bit into my food the tomato tasted HORRIBLE. mind you, Im not a picky eater and it was disgusting, tasted like it was going bad.... The Carne guisada was more fat than meat. This restaurant used to be excellent. Idk whats happened but I was not satisfied. The only good thing was the tea.

Do not get me wrong, we love the FOOD. The service is terrible. The staff is RUDE, they have like two people who are actually friendly and the service is slow. We dont mind the wait, most of the time. We mind when they mess up our order and do not take responsibility for it. If they could improve their customer service, I would give 5 stars!

The drive-thru is retarded. It is almost always slow, and they make you park in a cramped parking lot to wait for your food. The food is good, if they mess up your order they fix it. I have been told in the past they had sanitary issues and bugs in food, but Ive never had this problem.. as far as I know of.

Horrible food its a Mexican restaurant but doesnt taste like it. Just went to get breakfast and it sucks they charged 15$ I would pay 5$ for what I got and no more . I would not recommend this place, they even forgot my order. If I could rate this -1 I would. Not to mention the horrible staff also.

Drive thru service can be really slow, but if you call in on your way there you can zip right through the drive thru or walk inside. Carne Guisada tacos are always good. I am not crazy about their salsa but people seem to love it. Employees are always nice.

I called in an order with plenty of time,i get off to get my order and had to wait another 30 minutes for my order. By the time I go to eat it tortillas were so soggy it not even funny. I will think twice before going again. Service was terrible.....

Food is great. Good options, Id give it a 5 star but what knocks it down is the staff. Sometimes the staff is a little slow. Drive thru can take up some of your time. So if youre looking to get it quick go inside, takes a few steps but its faster.

This used to be the go to for quick lard laced real deal Valley food. They tried to copy Taco Cabana and Pollo Loco, but they failed. If it aint broke, dont mess with it. I miss the red and white and the sign on the door that said, "We use Lard."
