I cant come here enough. As a lover of Asian flavors and eating healthy Id almost given up on finding both in the same place - but Koriente delivers, and for cheap! Its not a big space, which helps explain the line youll often see outside, but its worth it. The portions are very generous and theyll give you complimentary miso soup while you wait (for dinner at least, I hear lunch as well). You can customize anything pretty much any way you want with their other ingredients - I personally love the Noodle Garden with spicy chicken and substituting japchae noodles (chewier Korean sweet potato noodles), but the super-friendly staff will help you with recommendations on substitutions/mixes and descriptions of anything youre unfamiliar with. All the ingredients are extremely fresh, the avocado is plentiful, and the food is seasoned perfectly, none of the oily, over-salty food youll get at most places! I need to go back and try more dishes but Ive loved everything Ive had here including their take on Bibimbap and the Koriente Curry. I think "spicy" here may be spicier than at more Americanized places but Im a bad barometer for spice because I like everything extra hot. They have boba tea which is another favorite of mine, as well as coffee and a decent beer selection.

Just got back from my first visit to Koriente and its fair to say that I am a fan. Ive passed the restaurant numerous times and have seen it packed at its peak hours. However, it was the overwhelming love and support from the Yelp community that finally got me through the door. And I must say I was incredibly pleased. The restaurant itself has a small, quaint, yet stylish, interior. It was noticeably quiet when my friend and I entered. We approached the register where we were cheerfully greeted by the employees. They were happy to go through the menu items with us and gave us the prices for add-ons like rice and noodles. For my dish, I picked up the Koriente Curry (B), which I thought was superb. I added on some tofu, which was excellent by the way, and it totally set off the plate. I got their spicy sauce on the side, and when they say spicy, they sure mean it. It was great tasting nonetheless. Also, for their dishes, they serve a complimentary green tea ice cream or vegan miso soup. That was a very a nice touch. The only real drawback in my whole experience was my friends bubble tea. It tasted kind of bland and made me happy that I didnt purchase it. Overall, its still a great restaurant and a must eat for vegetarians.

Been coming here for 3+ years. Food is delicious, healthy-ish, filling. Not full of sugar like other Asian places. Prices are very good for lunch & dinner, especially for downtown. Service is outstanding, with happy, energetic staff most of the time. They love to take care of their regulars like me, with complementary soups and add-ons sometimes. I feel like a member of the family when I enter, being greeted by name and with a smile. P Unfortunately it gets a large lunch crowd during a convention, due to its closeness to the convention center. If you are here for a show, expect a 15-40 min wait to order. Pro tip for vegetarians: try the obake bowl "A" all veg, add shatake mushrooms and avocado. Also a secret item not on the menu: teriyaki chicken with ginger added. I like it better than the regular teriyaki chicken. Also, there are humorous messages all throughout the place, that echoes The creativity and happiness of this awesome little restaurant.

Koriente serves what I call Asian soul food because it satisfies a craving that resides deep in your soul. It does so by providng fresh and inexpensive bowls full of yum. I arrived at dinner time famished from a long day and I was ready to sample some good Asian food. I ordered the odaku bowl ($7.00) that consisted of an ample portion of stir fry chicken and sliced button mushrooms, sliced carrots and broccoli atop sticky rice sprinkled with black sesame seeds. Since I arrived at dinner time, I was given a bowl of miso soup on the house as is the tradition for any entree order. Koriente serves a nice selection of appetizers, veggie and fish dishes and a green tea ice cream sundae. In addition, their bottled beers are $2.50. The interior of the place is decorated in a sleek Asian style with numerous tables and window seat dining. The service was prompt, fast and friendly. I cant wait to visit again.

Ive been coming here for years and years, love the food and usually have pretty good service. Today, my halmoni and my mom, both Korean, came to eat with me. My mom has no accent (that shouldnt matter) and is very Americanized because we have lived here my whole life. When ordering, she was asked if she was Korean, and when she said yes they bluntly said "then youre not going to like this dish". We have been here so many times and this is a rude assumption. After this, without my mom even saying her name, he asked, "do you have an English name that is easy to pronounce for when we call out your order?" Assuming that since she is Korean, her name is difficult to pronounce and disrespecting her. I love this place and come here often but I cant help but leave disappointed with this service today. For a Korean themed restaurant, they are cold to Koreans, even Americanized ones.

Excellent service every single time. This place has been my goto for every meal where i want to eat healthy, but dont want to cook. Ive actually lost weight eating here. I was turned onto Koriente by a former coworker who also loved the food. Now ive been here 2-5 times a week, its affordable and delicious. You can order in or out, and even during lunch rush if you order in you dont need to wait in line. The house miso is vegan miso, surprised me too. The menu has gluten free options, a plethora of entrees you can add tofu to, and delectable entrees for us Carnivores. Try the flavored teas. After many experiments the Mango Green tea, Mango Red tea, and my personal favorite Lychee Raspberry Green tea are the top choices. Above all its a great ambiance and so close to dirty sixth, they also stay open until 930pm.

Fantastic restaurant. Went here for the first time today. I got Japchai with tofu, mushrooms, and broccoli. They provide miso, salad with ginger balsamic dressing, and some pickled veggies for free/with the meal. Its a small seating area but when I went (~1:30pm Friday) there were one or two tables open and there are tables outside in the back. I wanted to try a roll but was told their food comes in large portions so I just went with the japchai bowl and they were right! It was very filling and delicious. It also came out in maybe 5 minutes after I ordered, which was amazing. And I didnt mention that everything is vegan if you dont add meats! Ill definitely be going back to try everything else!

Im sorry man, I just really hated this place. I ordered a curry and what I got was a stew. It looked like stew, it smelled like stew, it tasted like stew. Stew != curry. Stew is not even a little bit what I wanted when I ordered curry. The miso soup was the worst, blandest thing Id ever tasted. The cinnamon iced tea tasted like drinking a stick of Big Red gum. Even the chairs there dont want you -- the seats bounce, so when you sit down on them, they spring back up and throw you off. The seating is really tight and anywhere you are, youre in somebodys way. We abandoned our meal only slightly eaten because we just hated everything about our experience. Sorry Koriente, I hated you.
