The food was ok. The waitstaff and management were awful. A cute waitress that was dressed a bit too sexy for work was walking by my table and accidentally dropped some glasses on the floor by my table. A piece of glass lodged in my calf and cut it pretty good. I was bleeding pretty badly. I was holding my napkin on it to try to stop the bleeding...The staff came over and gave me a band aid and a wet wipe. The manager came by and asked if I dropped the glass.... He then asked if I wanted to fill out a report...I dont even know what the report would be used for. The rest of the waitstaff came out and consoled the waitress who dropped the glass. The staff was more concerned with her than they were with my calf.... After that the waitstaff never came back to check on us or fill our drink glasses. The girl dropped of our bill and said in a not very sincere tone that she was sorry about my foot....it wasnt my foot...It was my calf if you were even paying attention.... It was not a good experience at all.. The food was marginal and the staff was really bad and I got a big bloody cut..I barely received an apology from this place

Is there new management in here? My bf and I frequent the place, use to be literally every friday, always getting Mancave wings and beers during happy hour. We use to LOVE Brick House. We took our friends from out of town here last weekend and it was AWFUL. Wrong food orders, slow service and my food was worst of all. I got the pot pie which was good, but cold and the dish it came in was broke!!! How did you miss that when bringing it to the table??? As the guy brought me out a new one, he then said, oh dont worry, well cover it, lIke that made up for the fact. (And like I would have paid for that anyway.) Also mentioned that the broken dish with that particular meal happened all the time. Bigger hole dug. We are so turned off now Im not sure how often we will come back. We use to bring all of our family and friends here when they visited, telling them it was our favorite place, but it is soooo far from that now. Whatever happened, they need to go back to the old ways and old menu. Now if I can find the recipe for their Mancave sauce online....

Located in the building that was formerly a Joe’s Crabshack off Research Blvd., Brick House is just another bar/restaurant that features scantily-clad female servers with semi-decent food. The inside is nice and they fixed up the outdoor patio. They also stay open late most nights, which is convenient for those of us who don’t get off work until after 10pm. So far it’s been a good place to grab a drink along with a late dinner, but more out of convenience than desire. Given the gift of time, I don’t think I would actively choose to dine there. An amusing anecdote: Once I went with a friend who ordered a burger without the bun. When prompted why, she told our server that she has a gluten allergy and explained it with minimal detail, which the poor girl then equated with a yeast infection and then proceeded to share far too much information of her own. Sure it was funny, but mostly just uncomfortable. Suffice it to say, service is a bit lacking.

This place is not bad at all. The first time I came in I did not sit by the fire and sat by the window. I cannot recall what I had because I am certain I did not like it. My wife however ordered the fish and chips and it was very good. I tried her dish unsatisfied with my own. I recall eating a cake that I also found quite dreadful and quite a chore to eat. The second time we came we sat in a booth near the fire. It was quite an ambient atmosphere, but I think this time I ordered chicken Parmesan and again my wife ordered the fish and chips which was outstanding again. I however was not pleased by the tiny chicken portions and found myself eating at home a little later on that night. I like the place, so why three stars? Well I have not found anything there I like yet besides the fish and chips. If there is something there that is outstanding then I will definitely improve my rating.

I visited the Brick House Tavern for lunch today along with my husband and two friends. Its really very nice inside and its large enough that seating was not a problem. They have a nice big fireplace which adds to the cozy ambiance. The wait staff is very pleasant and the menu looked pretty good. I had the Fish & Chips which wasnt bad but it was overly salty. Otherwise I would have loved all the bits of batter flakes on the plate. My husband had the prosciutto wrapped meatloaf which he enjoyed but found a bit one dimensional and quickly got bored with. My girlfriend had the Zucchini Curls which were apparently delicious and her husband had a burger which he quite enjoyed. I think well give this another go and try a few more options before writing it off.

I am not sure if anyone has mentioned their Bloody Good Mary, but it has a deviled egg half, small cube of cheese, and a piece of cured meat, and of course a green olive and a piece of celery. Have a few of those and you wont need an appetizer, but I cant be held responsible if you make that your actual meal! The mint julep I drank was pretty dang tasty as well. The onion stack we ordered was not that impressive, a little bit on the greasy side, but then again what do you expect? However, I have ordered the Philly Cheese Steak before and that was pretty amazing. Overall, the place has nice decor, and the personal TVs are great if you are watching sports. The patio is also inviting even when it is chilly as it provides fire!

A good place to grab a bite. The decor and staffing are clearly aimed at drawing male patrons but its not obnoxiously male-oriented (its not Hooters). I find it to be a very comfortable place, clean with a very friendly and attentive staff. The menu is very good. Surprisingly, the house cheeseburger is pretty bland, considering the bold flavors of most of the rest of the dishes. Good quality beef, but not my favorite burger in Austin. An extensive drink menu (about the same size as the food menu, actually) and plenty of shareable dishes. Unique takes on standard bar/pub fare with a lot of strong flavors and flavor combinations. Not for the timid palate, unless you get the house cheeseburger.

We come here frequently for the fish n chips.. Came here saturday before fathers day and ordered 2 16 oz ribeyes. The ribeyes were so gristly we couldnt eat them. Waister took them back. Manager came over and tried to explain to me that steaks have fat in them. I . Told him im well aware of what makes up a steak but the amount I these rendered them inedible. He scoffed, walked away. We waited for our server. I still had not eaten. When the server finally came back i asked him what was going on he said the manager removed them from our ticket. I stated that i. Still hadnt eaten. He Scrambled to take my alternate order. Shrimp and chips came out amazing. Rude manager.
