Never posted a comment before, always relied on others comments. My experience here prompted me to finally post. Lived in burbs of Chicago and frequented Giordanos, Ginos East, and neighborhood privately-owned pizza place. 1 hour 15 min. later, picked up takeout order of small 10" deep dish "Chicago Classic" - pepperoni, mushroom, onion, green pepper, with addl topping of Italian sausage. Total came to $22.50 inc. tax. Heres what was on the 4 slices of pie: Layering: Perfect. Crust: Soggy. Put it on baking stone in convection oven. Good buttah flav. Sauce: Skimpy. Only 1 Tblsp on 6" x 5" slice. Good flav. Pepperoni: Skimpy. 2 small pieces per slice. Good flav. Sausage: Skimpy. 1-2 small crumbles per slice. Good flav. Onion: Skimpy. 4 pieces (1cm) per slice. Baked right. Mushroom: Skimpy. Only 2 slices of pie had it, giving only 1 slice of mushroom. Baked right. Bell Pepper: Skimpy. Only 1 slice of pie had some (.5cm) pieces of Bell Pepper. Pieces were minute and squishy. Recommended for those who only want the crust, cheese, and layering of Chicago deep dish. Not recommended for those who are looking for toppings and sauce. Note to owner - If your purpose is to sell pizza that gives a "Taste of Chicago", then the pizza should be smothered, not nearly devoid, of sauce. You charge $9 for 4 toppings, almost doubling cost of pizza. For that price, every slice should give all toppings ordered, and every bite should have a topping on it. 3 of 5 stars for taste 1 of 5 stars for toppings compared to price

I loved this place untill the quality of food, perfesionalism, and management declined. I would eat here at least once a month and its really disappointing that i wont be eating here anymore. I had a problem with the quality of my $22 pepperoni deep dish pizza. The sauce was dispersed unevenly and globs of bread was ozing over the sauce. The bottom crust of my pizza was so lightly colored and soggy that I was unsure if it was cooked properly. When I told the manager about my problems he offered me a %50 discount on my next pizza. I was like ok that helps, but im not sure if ill be back, and you should really resolve the quality of your product. I felt like he just wanted to get me off the phone, so I concluded that I would not go back, and now Im stuck with this unsatisfactory pizza. I tell him can I bring the pizza back and get a refund instead I dont think I will be going back to his establishment. He said no what else is wrong with the pizza, I told him I could bring it to him and show him. He said no refunds, I told him Im not satisfied and plan on writing a review on my experience and here I am now. You can keep the $22 for the crappy product you provided, but if you keep treating customers that loved your establishment like crap then youre gonna need that $22 a lot more than I do. I hope this helps any customers on what to expect when a problem arises with this establishment. Hopefully your experience brings you joy and does not ruin your day as it did mine.

Were snobs when it comes to Chicago style pizza, having lived there and worked within that industry for years. Taste of Chicagos pizza is closest to that of Giordanos in Chicago, which is excellent. Im amazed at how inexpensive large, stuffed pizzas are here. Taste of Chicagos large stuffed pizza is just under $20 and easily feeds 3-4 adults for 2 meals each (or 6-8 adults for one meal). The pizza handles reheating very well. If I absolutely had to come up with something to critique, sometimes when we pick up our pizza to-go, the top is very lightly scorched (not burnt, though) as if left in the oven (or maybe under the heat lamps?) just a minute too long. Thats a very minor quibble though, as it doesnt affect taste or texture. The overall quality of the food, value for the price, friendliness & professionalism of the staff, and the cleanliness & appearance of the restaurant are all stellar and easily deserve 5 stars. Highly recommended. The name of the restaurant is clever, too. Aside from the obvious reference to the type of food this restaurant serves, that name is used in Chicago for the huge, annual summer festival that features all the best known restaurants in Chicago, offering a collective taste of the citys most famous cuisine for the tourists. Its perfect for this restaurant.

These people are THIEVES and have the worst customer service. My husband is from Chicago and was so excited to find this place and the few times we have been the food and service has been great. This particular time not so much. My husband made the order and when we got there I went in and paid. However after paying I thought the total was a little high so I went to confirm the order with my husband. He stated that he did in fact order thin crust and not deep dish. When I informed them of the mistake they did nothing to rectify it. Instead they blamed us and stated that they were right bexcuse they repeated the order twice. Long story short they tried to berate my husband and I when all we asked was for the pizza to be made properly and we get refunded the overage. They refused. So we walked out of there with no pizza and they stated they would not refund my money to me! This is theft which I informed them of. They still will not refund the money so Im sitting here at the addison police department filing a police report. The food is good but they have lost 2 loyal customers. If you want chicago style pizza just head over to ginos east. Better pizza and customer service.

WHEN I SAY 32 YRS OLD AND I LOVE CHICAGO I LOVE CHICAGO AND WAS BORN IN CHICAGO . I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS RESTAURANT. TODAY WAS MY 1ST TIME TRYING IT ..THE SWEET TEA WAS VERY SWEET HOW I LOVE IT. I ORDER THE CLASSIC ITALIAN BEEF SANDWICH. 1ST COUPLE BITES WAS AMAZING UNTILLLLL I FINISHED MY SWEET TEA AND FOUND THAT I WAS DRINKING OUT OF A DIRTY CUP. IT HAD A MUSHROOM STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE INSIDE ON TOP OF THE ICE. I INSTANTLY GOT SICK AND RAN OUT TO MY CAR AND THREW UP. THATS THE WORST THING IVE EVER EXPERIENCED ANY WHERE. SO I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. ALL THERE DISHES COULD BE DIRTY. IM WRITING THIS REVIEW IN THERE PARKING LOT AS I WRITE. BUT IT SEEMED LIKE I WOULDA LOVED THIS PLACE TASTE WAS GREAT. BUT THEY DONT CHECK THERE DISHES BEFORE THEY SERVE CUSTOMERS. SO TO END THIS ITS THE WORST PLACE FAR AS CLEANLINESS GOES.

The deep dish pizzas here are not what I expect from a Chicago deep dish. The pizzas are cooked to perfection. The sauce is flavorful, and the cheese is plentiful. The only disappointment I have had with the deep dish pizzas from here is that if you order toppings there are never enough. For $26.50 I expect there to be a noticeable amount of toppings in the pizza. Unfortunately, encountering toppings is rare when you purchase a large unlimited topping deep dish. If they put more toppings into the pizza I could easily give this place 5 stars. Ive ordered a large unlimited topping deep dish twice from here and both times I should have just ordered a cheese only; there are that few toppings put on the pizza that they are completely unnoticeable.
