Title: Thai One Star - When good food is overshadowed by horrendous actions. As Im writing this I still cant believe that it actually happened. This has been one of my favorite lunch spots for over a year now. I first started going with some friends from Tesla, quickly got hooked and started referring people there and this day was no different. I talked it up, invited a friend from work and another buddy that had never been there before. Two of us arrived and wrote our name on the waiting list and waited outside to not get in everyones space while theyre eating. After seeing 2-3 parties of two and a big party walk in we went to check and all had been seated before us. We noticed two people at a four top paying and once they left we grabbed the table as there was no one else in line after us. The familiar waitress who is always very nice comes over and grabs our drink order and returns shortly after to take our food order. While this is happening I am guiding our friend through the back of the parking lot to our location. As our server is pouring our drinks the owner approaches us in apprentice bad mood and demands that we move to a table in the back. Whats crazy is that this isnt the first time this has happened to me there but the last time I was by myself and didnt mind helping a big table get completed. This time there were three of us and I wanted my friend who was trying for the first time to be comfortable so I respectfully informed the owner that we preferred to stay at our table. He replies with "If you dont want to move than we are done here and you can leave." Keep in mind the place is full but there is no one at the front or outside waiting to be sat. At this point the two of us are shocked and our third is walking up to the restaurant. The server says "wow" as do the both of us and as we are exiting Thai Star the owner chases us down and tells us that he would serve us but that we would have to sit where he wanted us to sit. We obviously passed on his offer and informed him that Yelp is a powerful tool and that no matter how good the food is, no plate is worth being harassed and offended to the point of embarrassment for, especially when you are paying for it! A side note to the Owner of Thai Star: Your inability to stay professional in a high traffic environment completely negates all the hard work your employees put into the food and your establishment. My suggestion would be to let them run your business and you work on finding a larger location that has a back office where you can find a nice comfy chair and keep away from your customers.

Decided to give them a try and ordered a green curry dish with shrimp as the protein. Upon arriving at the restaurant, it was very cramped and there was no counter to pay at. Once I finally got the take-out order, I went home to find a dish that was pathetic. There were maybe 12 popcorn sized shrimp in the order. I requested no bell peppers, and found a 4:1 ratio of peppers to shrimp, and the spice level (2 requested) was like lava going down my throat. I had a bag of frozen shrimp in the freezer which I ultimately steamed and cooked in the curry in a saucepan. While picking out the peppers, I came to find a piece of steak in the curry which made me wonder, do these people reuse unfinished curry and dump it into a big vat in the kitchen? Moral of the story is this: service was bad, order taking ability was non existent, my order was all wrong, the portion of shrimp was pathetic, and Im pretty sure I got recycled curry sauce. Clearly, I will never be back and will be happy to spread the word of what a terrible restaurant this is.

Wow, the Thai Star impressed me from the moment I set foot in the door until I left. They brought the food promptly after ordering. I had cashew nut chicken and a Thai tea. Both were delicious. I traveled to Thailand earlier this year and ate food there that wasnt as good as this. Even though the place was full, and I was having dinner alone, I never felt neglected or getting less attention than the tables with 4 or 6 people. The service was excellent. I drink a lot of water, and Ive been to much more expensive restaurants which didnt pay half as much attention to keeping my glass filled as the servers at the Thai Star. I asked the TV channel to be switched, which the staff did immediately. The owner himself inquired whether everything is ok. They brought the bill promptly after I was finished eating, but thought of asking whether I want some coffee or dessert. I would definitely eat here again.

A small restaurant with very limited seating capacity. Went there on a Saturday night. It took them 20 minutes to get us a table for two. Thats how packed it was by 6.30pm!! the food was awesome. For Starters: we order steamed chicken potstickers (regular stuff nothing exceptional), chicken curry puffs (amazing), Mains: Jungle curry with pork (asked them to make it really spicy) , Thai Stars 5 Star noodles with beef (asked them to make it really spicy). The Jungle curry tasted good but was nothing in comparison to the noodles which were mind-blowing!! Overall - good food, quick service, polite staff, not expensive. Music - there was a live band (A guy was actually yodelling), which was too loud but entertaining non-the-less, had to wait to get a seat (but you always have to wait at places that exceed expectation when it comes to taste)!!
