I hesitant to write a review so I can keep this place to myself as my little secret, but thought its only right to share the wealth. We had an amazing dinner from beginning to end. The interior has a European flair with arched windows and simple but fine decor. The food was really well thought out nice combinations, and we could taste the high quality ingredients used which we felt was one of the best restaurants weve experienced in Memphis. We are a bit of food snobs, so our expectations a little high. We had a shared platter to start with- a nice mix of pickings with grilled shrimp, selection of nice cheese, and vegetables. We fought over the bread and oil that came out. There were tasty spices in the dipping oil that we basically drenched in everything from the platter. I could have put my napkin in it and eaten it. We didnt think it could get better, but our entrees were just as perfect and nice sized portions (actually a bit large). To top it off the bill was a welcomed price to pay for top notch food and service ($47 for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and 1 beer). We felt transported back to Italy for a night with genuinely nice and gracious hosts, what a gem we found and made plans to shortly return. Enjoy!!

Save your time (and money) A friend and I went to Marcianos last night and were disappointed. Appetizer: good, but short on avocado and the crab meat may have been fresh but did look a bit like imitation crab. Salad: ok, but my spinach was drowned in so much balamic vinegretee it was difficult to eat. And the tomatoes were not fully ripe. Main course: her seafood crepes were pretty good. unfortunately the shrimp and salmon in my dish were overcooked (rubbery) and mushy / watery (rather than nice and flaky as samlon should be), respectively. Dessert: very good. by far the best course of the night. After Dinner Tea: The selection of herbal tea turn out to be three choices from Bigelow )Green, English and Eary Grey) served without suger and with only a cup (not a pot) of water. Service was OK, but not worth the 20% that was automatically added to the bill. There were only two occupied tables, yet we had to flag down our server a couple of times. And though we specified (twice) that we wanted our wine served with the main course, it came early. And all this for only 100 bucks! (after taking off our $25 coupon...)

Food: Outstanding at every course (and we had 5 courses): Crabcakes, antipasto, Snapper, Veal, arugula salad, ceasar salad, tiramasu, pecan pie. Each of these items were beautifully presented and tasted so good I had to close my eyes. Honestly, when I tasted the complimentary bread and pesto sauce I knew that we were in for a treat. Service: Very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Atmosphere: Quaint and private. Would make an amazing place to take a date or the family or for a special occasion like an anniversary or birthday. It cost us $50 a head when all was said and done but we ordered A LOT of food and we ordered the most expensive entrees. One could easily eat here (without drinking alcohol) and be full for under $30. Many of these reviews mentioned that the place was empty. My experience was the same. I do not understand why. Come on Memphians, this place is a gem. Get in there and have one of the best meals of your life at a reasonable price and support a local business thats commited to excellence!

Authentic Mediterranean food prepared fresh upon order that doesnt disappoint; fell for their grilled rack of lamb which is tender and comes with grilled vegetables and spinach but on this occasion I had the koolau Italian turkey meatballs which was cooked with roasted potatoes, mushrooms, covered with a delicious freshly made tomato sauce...I added some of there personally prepared pepper sauce for an extra "kick of spice" ... the atmosphere is quiet and the staff is friendly and efficient.

Ordered the rack of lamb the server told me it was boneless rack. I dont believe there is such a thing! Anyway @ 32.00 it was the worst I have ever had. The waitress almost insisted that I should order some Italian wine on special even though I told her I wasnt interested. The only saving grace was the tiramisu. I wont go back!

For the price, I expected much greater quality and more flavor. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. My biggest gripe is that we were one of three tables seated in the entire establishment, and for some reason we were seated right next to the swinging kitchen door instead of any of the other many open tables.

Marcianos is an excellent restaurant with good food and good service, but something isnt right. We were there on a Saturday night from 7:00 until 8:30 and were one of 3 couples in the place. When we left the place was empty. We drove past Carrabbas aroud the corner and the parking lot was full. Go figure.
