This place is strange. There is really no other way to put it. I considered the price point, the food quality, and the service in my two-star rating. I have been considering going to Spaghetti Warehouse for a while and did so last Friday night. I hope this reasonable comment will provide you with some actual info on what to expect at this place as all the other comments are not very helpful. My fiancee and I decided to eat here last Friday night at about 6 pm. There was no wait. Upon entering the building, we were greeted pretty swiftly. The first thing I noticed was all the strange decorations in the place. There is a trolley in the middle of the restaurant and one table is covered by this weird metal structure that almost looks like a bed canopy that you would hang some drapes/curtains from. We were sat at a table by the trolley. All the tables are covered with nylon table cloths that do not seem very clean. The restaurant in general does not feel very clean and I doubt it is. Our waitress was nice. We got water and some beer and wine. The waitress asked if we wanted an appetizer and we declined. She came back after we were done reviewing the menu with our drinks and some bread. The bread was super hard on the outside and came with this garlic butter. Somehow it was actually pretty soft once you sawed through the apparently reinforced crust with a steak knife (crumbs everywhere - again probably not a clean place). I ordered the lasagna and my fiancee ordered the spaghetti. Mine came with chili and hers came with a salad. Upon ordering, the waitress asked if we wanted desert which seemed strange since we hadnt even eaten dinner yet. The waitress asked if we wanted a mozzarella topper on our food. My fiancee said yes. This later turned out to be an additional $1.75 charge for some burnt cheese on your food. The waitress brought our salad/chili quickly. The chili is pretty good. The caesar dressing came on the side of the caesar salad which also seemed strange but no big deal. Shortly thereafter the waitress brought our food out on a tray. We were still eating our chili and salad. She asked if we wanted the food now or if she should bring it back later. This was very strange to me because she was essentially asking "Do you want me to go put your food under a heat lamp?" We said no we will take the food. It didnt look too bad when she brought it out. We started eating the food and it was alright. Basically tastes like some above average cafeteria lasagna and spaghetti. The meatballs and italian sausage in the spaghetti were not good. Definitely not worth what it costs. While we were eating, we noticed that we started itching pretty bad. I then noticed it felt like stuff was crawling on my feet. We at first thought these were mosquitos. But i think they have sand fleas in there. My fiancee has over ten bites on her feet. So we were just hurrying trying to eat and get out of there. By the end of the meal, I was definitely feeling like I made the wrong decision on dinner that night. At Spaghetti Warehouse we spent $50 on spaghetti, lasagna, a beer, and a glass of wine with tip included. It simply should not cost that much based on the poor food quality. Summary: The food is way overpriced. Despite the occurrence of some bad reviews, I was sure that the food would be decent because of the price point. This is not the case. It should cost at least 30-40% cheaper than it does based on the quality. It is just not good really. That bread might be very hard when you get it. Our service was good and the waitress was nice. However, the table next to us sat there for a while just staring off into the distance waiting for their check. Apparently the manager really pushes upcharges because they will try to sneak them in on you and jack that check up. We payed almost two bucks for some burnt cheese "topper." You may get bitten by sand fleas in there and you will feel a bit dirty. Just go to the new Tuscany restaurant at Gayoso and Front. The owner in there is real nice, the food tastes awesome, and it is cheap.

I understand that, during the dinner shift, people are tired and can forget things. Trust me, I do. At the same time, theres a feeling of insult/annoyance/the unmistakable feeling of being trolled by the staff of the restaurant. But when youve been somewhere where the food and pricing is good and theres the chance of exploring the city for a while, it feels like you can side-step any shenanigans from the staff. However, it seems to be a reacquiring theme with the Spaghetti Warehouse in downtown Memphis. Mostly when ordering food for pick-up. Im usually tasked to make orders in the house to different places since the people I live with are normally tired by the end of the day from work. However, annoyance and exhaustion tends to follow behind making an order at this particular restaurant. This isnt the first time that an order has been repeated multiple times over the phone, with an extremely clear tone and proper enunciation of menu items. So, this time, my younger sister made the order. And only had to repeat herself twice instead of the normal 3-4 times it takes me. Once at the establishment, different problems arose. Usually the same thing Ive encountered when picking up food for people, which is an item or two, or three, are missing. Thankfully, Ive never been yelled at or been accused of making a mistake. However, both my sister and I had the encounter of a staff member taking a break and commenting on the interaction we had to have with one of the parental figures. Since the sister was talking to her, I couldnt do anything but just sigh internally and hope that no fuss would arise because no one could get their dessert and pray that the staff doesnt do anything to the food because three different receipts were printed. In the end, some liquids from two entrees spilled from the bag, a large container of wedding soup was not present and three annoyed people that garnered conversations ranging from understanding what servers go through to good customer service is good customer service. Even to the annoying, and rather pointless to me, argument about what you wear is how your service will be handled. So, would I recommend this place? Im rather neutral on it. If sitting and ordering, its fine. Its normally when ordering for pick-up is when the issues arise.

We were a bit late, 8 pm and the place was nearly empty. It is a huge interior which nice decorations. The waitress was nice but clearly not used to visitors from abroad. Before we were even seated she wanted our order for drinks. The menu is from plain paper and our table was wet thus menu turned into a mess. We ordered 2 entrees which come with soup. The soup was served but within 5 minutes the main course also arrived. We hardly had time to taste the soup.(!). When we protested against this uptempo serving she was surprised. For us it meant fast soup eating to avoid a cold entree. Then, when we were halfway our entree, she appeared again to take our order for dessert. We told her firmly to back off because we wanted to have dinner without any pressure. My wife had still a half full glas of wine and there she was again asking if we wanted another glass. Unbelievable. We want to drink in a relaxed way.. Anyway I ordered a capuccino and they had none. Imagine an Italian restaurant without!!! All in all food was good but pricy and if you expect an real Italian resto you are very disappointed.
