I have been there for drinks a few times and loved it. The outdoor patio is a very pleasant place to be. The vanilla ale is delicious and smells so good. Last night I had the misfortune of eating there. The server was all over us to order then, once the food came, we didnt see her again. I ordered a patty melt - hamburger, swiss cheese, grilled onions on (what should be) buttered bread and then pan fried (like a grilled cheese sandwich). There was one very thin slice of cheese and a couple of onions. The hamburger itself, although medium rare was tough. Ive had much better patty melts at IHOP for a LOT less money. It came with broccoli almondine - which was dry and tasteless. Ill go have beer there again but Ill NEVER eat there again.

My wife and call the black horse Pub & Brewery "the pub" due to its location and our frequency of visitation. Weve always had decent service and the food is well above average. The beers are probably average. However , they have some exceptional outliers that are well worth the visit. The Imperial Red is amazing and probably the best craft beer produced in Knoxville. Great location for large groups that dont require a privet room. Food menu is diverse enough for all tastes. They have a large bar area with several big screen TVs.

My boyfriend and I took his 3 kids (teenagers) a few weeks ago and were pleasantly surprised. I wasnt sure how the prices compared to food would be and we were all satisfied. The adults had steak and the kids were excited by the different selection of food available. We will definitely be eating here again!

Ive been going once a week for two years. Beer is good and service is good but the food is always over salted. They make some good dishes but some bad ones too. Worst steak Ive ever had but the chicken strips are good, just stick with the bar food stuff and drink lots of beer.

Food is some of the best in knoxville. We really enjoyed our experience. Fried green tomatoes is a must try. I had the fish tacos and honestly the best Ive had anywhere. Pizzas are crazy good. Only been there once and cant wait to go back.

My favorite restaurant since discovering it a couple years ago. I have yet to have any food from here that isnt delicious. The waitresses are occasionally lacking in their job, but most of the time theyre as outstanding as the food.

Service was slow all three times Ive been here. Beers are palatable but dont rise above those available elsewhere, whether locally brewed or just on tap. Food is alright, if a bit overpriced for what it is.

Went to have a burger. Had the mushroom swiss burger and a loaded baked potato. The potato was cold, the burger was overcooked and had a hard time finding the mushrooms and grilled onion on the burger
