The atmosphere here is horrible, it looks like an old laundromat that has quickly been converted into a eatery by just replacing the washers and dryers with some tables and a few old worn out buffet tables. The lighting is fluorescent and everything just reminds you of an army or high school cafeteria from the 40ties or 50ties, definitely not a place to take your sweetheart out for a valentines date and hope to impress her. BUT... and this is a big BUT, the food is down right goooooood!!! And for $10.25 you cant beat it. Its like your grandmas old style cooking, and it actually looks like it is a bunch of grandmas running the place and that they are having the time of their life doing it. If your hungry and like old style southern cooking at a heck of a value, then this is the place to go. Best of luck to this place.

I came to this restaurant from out of town and saw the reviews on Google. I found them very hard to believe since they were rated 4.9 out of 5 stars but in an effort to try a different buffet from the standard national chain Golden Corral, (which only scored a 3.8) I decided to give it a try. Im glad that I did...the food is nothing short of amazing!!!!There is not one thing that I tried that I did not like. The price of the buffet includes a non-carbonated beverage and you cannot beat it. Everything was fresh and frequently REfreshed and the staff was very friendly and hospitable. Cheyenne was a phenomenal server. She welcomes EVERYONE with a warm greeting, and was always on point with refilling EVERY drink and clearing EVERY plate. You cant ask for more!

We dont frequent all you can eat buffets as our small appetites just make it a waste of money but some friends recommended this place and after the experience we had, I know it wont be the last. Food was hot, fresh, abundant and best of all very cheap. They use disposable utensil, plates and cups which is no biggie to us. The staff was nice from star to finish. Ice cream wouldve been nice on top of the peach cobbler and I hope they consider adding it to the menu. I saw allot of folks getting the buffet to go too. The place is very very clean, well staffed and the price is about $10 to include you choice of tea or lemonade. I look forward to going back.

Its just a small place but what a surprise! !! The food was delicious and service was outstanding. The menu covers just about all southern tastes from rice and tomatoes to crispy fried chicken. Vegetables are not greasy and the sweet tea is always fresh. I did not try desserts, but I know next time I will!! At closing, I found out after the owner told us, they pack food from the buffet line into plates for the homeless. Theres no better way to show what humanity should be than to serve those who are less fortunate. I definitely will recommend eating here and taking a plate home.... thank you, Carolina Buffet!!

This review is from our visits in October 2015: We lost our home in the October flood and we were living in a hotel. We were really tired of eating fast food and junk and just wanted to sit down and eat real food and feel normal. We stumbled upon Carolina Buffet. The service was fantastic but the food was HEAVENLY! It was both pleasure and a much needed respite from our troubles to dine in that establishment!

This restaurant is by far the best place to get a good southern meal in the Columbia area. Although its a buffet the food stays fresh! I recommend the awesome fried chicken and cheesy I mean cheesy! Mac-n-cheese. But there are a host of other southern favorites that you will enjoy. Come during lunch time and youll only pay $9.50 for the buffet and a tea or lemonade. You wont be disappointed!

If you like southern cooking, this will be your second home. I was in town for 4 days and I spent two lunches here. I absolutely loved the food, the service was great, and you can not beat the price. The menu changes daily, so you are not left with the same thing day after day. If you are anywhere near this place around lunch time, stop in and enjoy it.

The food is delicious.....the staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean. Always hot and fresh food on the buffet. BBQ is best around and the chicken is so good. Love all the fresh vegetables and the banana pudding is the best in the South. Price is reasonable and includes your drink. You cant beat this folks.

Reasonable prices. Southern BUFFET with all the fixings, even Hoe cakes and fried fatback! Best Mac&cheese around with rice, mashed potatoes and gravy. Beans, peas, corn, best fried chicken around! Sweet tea and banana pudding with lots of vanilla wafers. Steady patrons but seldom a wait. Really love it.

It was great! My Father and I stopped in for lunch and thought they were open a little later on a certain day and they were actually closing soon, but insisted we come in (which is usually a no-no in the S.I.). Completely hospitable and the food was fresh and delicious!

Really good Southern Buffet worth the few mile detour off the interstate. Corn souffle lima beans and kielbasa were all excellent. My iced tea never got below 2/3 full. Will definitely go back when Im in the area!

Back home southern cooking at its finest. Buffet is reasonably priced and it always includes tea and a homemade desert!! Dont be fooled by the "hole in the wall" look of the building...this place is a hidden gem:)

The wait is long and the parking is horrible on Sundays which is when I usually go. But that doesnt bother me because the food is awesomely delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. Its well worth it!
