Allow me to first of all say that we have frequently had 4/5 star experiences at this location, and as a family we LOVE Sweet Tomatoes. HOWEVER, our experience this evening was abysmal. On a Thursday night at 6p, the restaurant was busier than expected, and clearly understaffed. About 20 minutes after our arrival, my four-year-old son was unexpectedly ill, vomiting uncontrollably out of no where. Thank goodness none of our dishes had been cleared, because the six empty soup bowls were used to catch his vomit. One of the waitstaff came by our table WHILE he was vomiting, so clearly saw it happening. Once he stopped vomiting, my husband took him to the restroom to clean himself up, and I stayed with our two-year old to try to tidy up what I could at the table. I used EVERY napkin available, scooped the vomit off the table with a knife, but it was under the flip-marketing stand, all of the dishes on the table, and I could not clean it all up. More than 15 minutes passed, and we were still there with ALL the dirty dishes (now filled with vomit), while my youngest child and husband tried to finish their meals. Finally, we were able to alert a member of the waitstaff, who said she was "squeemish", and handed my husband a trash bag to put all the dishes that contained vomit in, along with our vomit-soaked stack of napkins. She also put a cloth on the table, telling us it had sanitizer on it so we could wipe the table down. After loading a trash bag with the dishes from our table, we noticed there was some vomit on the carpet beneath our table, and we now were holding a trashbag full of vomit and dishes. By now the diners at tables around us were also feeling a bit "squeemish". My husband ended up walking into the area that leads to the staff kitchen to get rid of the trashbag, and returned with MORE cloths with "sanitizer" to finish the clean up job on the carpet ourselves. My son was embarrassed, the diners around us disgusted, and, though we did the best we could to clean up after his sick accident, the table/chairs/floor were CERTAINLY NOT in a condition to safely seat and serve another family. There MUST BE SOMETHING in the employee/staff code of conduct that directs staff members what to do in this kind of a situation. From a cleanliness stand point, what happened this evening was DEFINITELY NOT up to standard, and from a customer service standpoint, equally awful. We love Sweet Tomatoes. In this very unique emergency situation, however, a one-star rating is generous.

Our family went there two times. First time we liked it better, even having paid the full price. The second time, however, the experience was worse. While the soups and drinks were great, both adults had stomach problems immediately after the meal (loose stool for two days). Doubt this is a coincidence. On a side note, I was thoroughly overwhelmed by the many different textures of the food. I literally felt like a goat chewing on the grass to fill up, though normally I like salads. Something was missing to make the salads enjoyable. The harried older waitress was constantly passing by overloaded with heavy trays, looking completely exhausted, wheezing and ready to fall. It was painful to watch, we felt so sorry and sad for her, and even guilty for sitting there young and healthy, stuffing, while that poor old lady had to break her back and strain her legs to pick up after everybody. The atmosphere was completely ruined. We didnt see any other waiters helping her out. We left a tip, but couldnt do much else to ease her day. Its good the business gave her a job in spite of her advanced age, but she was so obviously much overworked. Dont think we will be back for a while. They probably would benefit from adding more vegetarian dishes which are more palatable and uniform in texture. If you register online, they occasionally email coupons which give you about 40% savings on your meals, which is a plus.

Very clean serving areas, staff very friendly & willing to assist if needed. My family & I have even wittnessed on a few occasions not only the staff but, also the management assisiting with an elders good tray & carrying it to their seat for them. My only reason for a 4 star instead of a 5 is for only 2 inconvenient things. First being absolutely NO PARTING during the lunch hours between 11-am & 12-30on. Second reason being, each time I have gone in there and have gotten the sweet tea it has always tasted non sweetened. When asked about it finally after just settling for coke, one of the servers had stated that they dont use but very little sweetener in it due to people that have sugar issues like diabetes or the elderly. I had stated thats who the unsweetened should be for and offer sugar packets next to the dispenser for the elderly that would just like a touch of sugar, instead of forcing the people that are healthy and have no issues to drink unsweetened tea despite the sign that says sweetened. Other than these two issues this place is amazing!!!

been coming here since this one opened (also this is the original. it had no name in the beginning) and have always enjoyed the food. As ive tried others in the area, state, an country this one is by far the best still (food an staff). Alot of them seem like franchises an the food is never the same, i eat here monthly and im never disappointed. If you like salad, soups that are made fresh this is the place for you. Just excited i now work right down the street an can eat here more often. Way better than fast food an not much extra on the pocket either. An yes parking can be an issue but you can also park by the doctor office they have sweet tomatoes reserved parking.

Ive read all the reviews and I think people are crazy I like the place, sure Im single and a senior but thats not why I like the place. People forget that its all you can eat you can go back for more as often as you like! And yes there can be dirty plates on tables but its very busy all the time when its not its cleaned up very fast. Ive brought my grand kids with me and the staff is very friendly towards them and helpful, and always very very polite! So if I was a critic I would give a thumbs up and I love the place....

I visited this establishment while on vacation in Florida because I love salads. I enjoy them so much so that at home I visit a local eatery weekly for the sole purpose of preparing a salad to-go. Sweet Tomatoes reminds me of a restaurant here at home called Souper Salads that also offers pastas, pizza, breads and dessert along with the various salad options. The only suggestion I have is to add diced turkey and/or ham to their selection. Therefore, my rating would more accurately look like 3 1/2

When I first moved here with no job and not a lot of money - I would eat at Sweet Tomatoes a couple of times a week because you could fill up for not that much. After I got a job and my son moved down, we did the same thing as he has quite an appetite. The last couple of times we couldnt even find a parking space and left. The location does not allow for much overflow. We will be going today to see if things are different. Always love a buffet! Its like being an archeologist of food :)
