Im rating this with three stars because the food was excellent and deserves five stars, but just keep reading. Honestly, this was some of the freshest food Ive ever had at a Chinese buffet. It was GOOD!The buffet bars were kept clean and stocked nicely until about an hour before closing. The hibachi grill was open until closing. The restaurant was clean and very nicely decorated with modern features and lighting, including the bathrooms. Dont spend much time staring at the tiles on the mens room floor or you might get mesmerized... Now to the reason the star system was out of alignment. The first thing to remember is we Americans are a very picky bunch when it comes to our food. And, when we have a question, we really like to receive an answer instead of being ignored. Im just saying... I understand if these Chinese restaurants bring in their employees on a work visa and many dont speak much more of the English language than "Tank you," "Spite?" "You awe done now?" and my personal favorite, "no.", but there has to be some way to teach restaurant language to the perspective work visa/foreign student recipient. Instead, the American public is subjected to being ignored, told the same answer over and over to their question ("I dont know." or my personal favorite, "yes.") Maybe there could be a note on their nametag that says non-English speaker or something. If they dont wear nametags, a sticker on their shirt. Or maybe they should learn enough English to get along in an English-speaking country. Im not being unreasonable in this request, and its across the board for all restaurants that hire non-English speaking employees. The employees at this restaurant were rude, out and out refused to refill a dessert that was empty at 8 pm (they close at 9 pm), and then, as we were getting ready to leave, our waitress picked up our cash payment and flipped through the bills at the table, and her face turned angry. She came to the table to clear the pile of plates after our bathroom trips. My girlfriend said thank you, the waitress just stared at her and then walked away with a scowl. Keep in mind, this was the third time we saw her during our entire visit. Rude is not the new normal, its still rude. Maybe Im the guy that just says what everybody is thinking, but wont say it.

We went August 21 to celebrate my birthday, we were there once before so I knew some what of what wed be in for; Waitress say "you pay NOW" after telling her wed pay at the register,,and after leaving we laughed about it all the way home, But on the 21st there was a group of us, and everything was OK I thought until it came time to pay; my mother inlaw paid the bill and forgot to sign the receipt which the waitress caught, and also that she didnt put a tip on it either; it was because she wanted to use cash for the tip; well the waitress left her know about the tip, and even wanted to redo the receipt so she could put a tip on the bill; we wanted the waitress to give us more time while figuring out the bill, instead of walking away from the table, she turned her back to us for about 10 seconds and say, "you ready NOW"! and as we were leaving, another waitress came over to see that we left a tip and walked away! Just to let you know for the future, your customers are not obligated to leave a tip, it is the discretion of your patrons to decide how much or whether to leave tip at all! Remember that; there could be a bigger tip next time.

We have been eating at this restaurant for years, even before they remodeled a few years ago. We moved a little further north and have been going to Chopsticks Super Buffet by Westfield Countryside Mall. We were down in the area of Oriental Super Buffet on Gulf to Bay Blvd last week and decided to stop in as we have always enjoyed their food in the past especially their Mongolian Pork. That day they did not have Mongolian Pork, very disappointed as thats the reason we stopped at Oriental Super Buffet. I can describe the food in one word, "Horrible"!! Everything taste like it had been sitting out for hours. Chief at hibachi grill would not warm up shrimp. He did cook the steak but it was like trying to chew leather. I asked the cashier if they were under new management as I did not see the regular Asian couple that manage or own the restaurant and she said no. We will defiantly not be going back to Oriental Super Buffet on Gulf to Bay Blvd.

Wont be going coming here, horrible service. Weve been here once before and halfway done with our meal and the check was brought to the table. We figured they just wanted to get the check out of the way, we were talking etc, and the waitress kept starring us down just like a table away standing there like waiting for us to leave.! Second time here (last time here) charged us for two adults and two kids when my kids didnt eat! I let her know and she said they are! I said no they didnt eat they ate pizza right before since they dont like Chinese my kids are toodlers and picky eaters. Came back with correct check I was eating jello and my son decided to ask for a bite she said I had to pay since they are eating ..... for one bite a toddler not a teenager but a 22pound toddler. Told her we wouldnt be coming here any longer since its two times weve had unsatisfactory service! No tip she had the balls to say no tip! Nope.

We read the reviews-and went for it anyway. I agree that Ive had worse, and I have had better. My wife and myself went on a Saturday night, and the place was moderate busy. The waitstaff was NOT friendly, but perhaps it is because they do not speak english very well? The food was as bad as many buffets, and NO it was not hot. Some bad things were the chicken dishes, and the desserts are crappy. We were given one knife to share, and were intimidated by the signs that said they could charge us for whatever they wanted-i.e. uneaten food? Our bill was $30.00 for two Cokes (we think, since the waiter could not understand our question of "do you serve Coke or Pepsi?) and our buffet. Overall, I do not think we will visit again, but you could do worse elsewhere. My stomach is hurting whilest typing this. TIP=do NOT try the Hunan Beef, or the red teryaki chicken...BARF!

First of all, we know the Oriental since many years and we never had any complains. The food ist great and everything was fine. The waiters are average. But the last time we went there (Saturday 09/18/2010) we made the same experience as the writer below (Donald). We received our check and about 10(!) second later the waitress want to pick up the money. I dont even had the chance to take a look at the check. After I told her that I need a little more time she took me by word and returned 15 seconds later and ask me whether I already left the money. I told her, that Ill pay the check at the register. Thats the common practice at this restaurant. So I only left a tip on the table. At the time I (we) left the table, really in the same moment, she checked how much money I left for her. Her behaviour is the worst Ive ever seen in any restaurant.
