Only reason I didnt give 1 star is because the food was delicious. Service was poor! I was here on a Friday night, not very busy because I was seated right away, but a good amount of people here. Server came to take our orders, I started by saying we would be on separate checks, her response: "I know". Wow didnt know I was dealing with a psychic server, too bad she couldnt foresee what I was ordering. Ordered cold green tea, nope she decided I needed hot green tea. Ok whatever I didnt complain because I like either way. There were 2 of us at the table, my friend ordered a hibachi dinner and I ordered 2 sushi rolls. 45 minutes later he was delivered his hibachi dinner, she didnt care to say when my plate was coming. 15 minutes later my friend is 90% complete with his meal, my rolls come out. Gee thanks. Like I said, food was delicious, but service was garbage. After waiting 10 minutes past finishing and we were not given the check, we asked another server to help us. Only reason I left $2 tip was because of the other server. I recommend getting takeout if you want to try this place.

I have been to this resturant many times -- enough to have it as the first option when having anyone out of town, a student, or a colleague out. However, today my experience with this place has been perhaps one of the worst eating out. We ordered 3 rolls, and they came all preprepared. I asked the server to try them to tell me that they are not prepepared by she refused arguing that they would never do that. Ice-cold and chewey rolls for what is supposed to be deeply fried and crispy.. and indeed my previous experience with the place was good to know what to expect. Finally, we decided to get out, ate what could be eaten and left 0$ tip for them. My friend urged not to pay at all, which is perhaps what I should have done. I however wish there was a 0 star for this kind of resturant and poor quality of service.

Looked up Sushi places in Buffalo on a trip through NY, came across Taisho Bistro and these ratings are spot on! Excellent Sushi and Sashimi! Phenomenal and exceptionally friendly service. Menu is photographs of the food with great explainations, and the place is decorated beautifully (not to mention fantastic smelling hand soap). Theyre currently putting in 3 habachi grill tables to replace the under-utilized traditional Japanese style dinning area. Very reasonably priced for the quality that is delivered. They also give you a $5 coupon for next time as well! If you want a great experience with great food, this place is a must!

Fantastic food, service, price, and atmosphere. Myself and a friend ordered 5 different kinds of sushi, and they were all phenomenal, I then ordered a plate of noodles to top off my stomach. All in all the food for both of us with beers and around a 22% tip came to $68. They even gave us a $5 coupon for our next visit. If you ever get the chance, try it. You wont regret your decision. :)

Friendly, polite staff. Food is great. I have been going to this place for about two to three years, and I go there pretty regularly. If I have a problem with my order, they are pretty quick to fix it. Atmosphere is great as well. I like the design. They offer drinks as well. Only con is that they are getting so popular that there may be a wait for a seat, but usually only 10 to 15 minutes.

great menu photographically describing everything they have to offer so theres no guessing on what youre getting, great selection of different foods so you can have a little bit of anything you want for not a fortune, everything tastes great, great decor, great service...better than we were expecting and have been back several times since and plan many times in the future.

Excellent service. Quality well prepared food. Comfortable atmosphere with some authentic surprises. Excellent value price wise for food and beer prices lower than average. Also staff was very willing to prepare a take home order to pack in my lunch box the next day....not something most places even understand. Definitely a new favorite for my group.

Skip the takoyaki balls, I could barely taste any octopus, it is not worth the money for a balls of dough. The ramen isnt special, but better than Sato. Was not happy about hibachi costing the same when not sitting at the hibachi grill. Please note to make reservations in advance, there are only two grills and only available on the weekend.

I love this place. After reading a review on Buffalo Eats, I had to go and have been back many times. Their kimchi udon is one of my favorite dishes anywhere and I get that every time. The yakitori is fun and its entertaining to try to get my son to eat new things off sticks. Sometimes food can take longer than desired but its always good.

My girlfriend and I dine here a few times per month and we absolutely love it. We come here because the vegetables are always fresh, The food is so delicious and wait staff is polite and actually cares. It is our go to place when we want to eat healthy. Authentic food, more options than what youll find at most WNY Japanese places. Its an Izakaya, a bar & grill. Great drink selection (from American IPAs to Saketinis to great Scotch). Go here to drink, eat, to enjoy the atmosphere. Chill at the bar for a while, the staff here are great people.

Every time Ive been there so far has been amazing! The green tea is nice and evenly mixed, the food comes out right when its done so no waiting, the staff is courteous, and the decorations in the restaurant itself are wonderful. I plan on taking my visiting family here soon.

The atmosphere was very nice, the menu was a bit confusing, the portion size not what we were expecting and if you are looking for your blood pressure to go sky high because of how much salt they use in the meals this is definately the spot to be!! :( NOT WOWED AT ALL!!!

Amazing service. Their mixed hibachi (shrimp and Fillet mignon) were such a treat, me and my wife ended up ordering a second dish. Loved the atmosphere as well, especially the Japanese music in the background (felt like in an anime :) ). Amazing place overall.

I consistently go there and receive great food and service. No plans on stopping. Extremely friendly staff is absolutely the norm. As far as Im concerned, this is a staple of the Amherst/UB area. Their hibachi is awesome too. Consider it for a group!!!

The food was great. The best I have had in amherst, Williamsville, and Clarence areas. The rolls are very tasty and fresh. The Hitachi was great as well. Customer service was great. The restaurant especially the restroom was very clean.

Im a regular customer here and Ive been here more times than I can count. The staff is incredible and funny. The food is amazing and the portion is awesome. Ill definitely be coming back very often with not one thing bad to say
